Author to donate proceeds from film adaptation to Alzeheimer’s research ADVOCATE STAFF REPORT Feb. 16, 2016; 0:30 p.m. An LSU Health Sciences Center doctor who wrote a novel about a New Orleans street musician suffering from memory loss and a neuroscientist intent on helping her is donating 70 percent of the money he makes from a movie based on the book to Alzheimer’s research. “I am rewarded because my efforts to bring to the community the magnitude of the problem of Alzheimer’s and dementia will reach a wider audience,” said Dr. Nicolas Bazan, professor and director of the Neuroscience Center of Excellence at LSU Health New Orleans. This makes Kelly the first openly non-binary person to be considered for an Oscar. They are also featured in the movie Middle Man and just wrapped production on the upcoming feature film, God Save The Queens in which Kelly is the lead in. TV: Guest-starred on numerous shows, including Lucifer, Modern Family, Curb Your Enthusiasm, CSI, The New Normal, New Adventures of Old Christine, Judging Amy, Nip/Tuck, Will & Grace, George Lopez. Recurring: NYPD Blue. Featured in LOGO’s comedy special DragTastic NYC, and a very small co-star role on Season Six of RuPaul's Drag Race. Stage: Kelly has starred in more than 50 plays. They wrote and starred in their critically acclaimed solo show,The Confusion of My Illusion, at the Los Angeles LGBT Center. As a singer, songwriter, and musician, Kelly has released four critically acclaimed albums and is currently working on their fourth. La dinámica de narración de un género que se reinventa a partir de sus nexos con la cultura popular. En síntesis, es un ensayo orien- tado a recuperar la historia del género policial desde su desarrollo auroral en la literatura de Edgard Allan Poe hasta su trasvase a series televisivas como Columbo, Kojak, Miami Vice, Cagney & Lacey, CSI, NYPD Blue o The Wire. El énfa- sis está puesto en el análisis del comportamiento de los relatos policiales con relación a los cambios de época, los contextos sociales y los vínculos que este género ha cultivado con la cultura popular a lo largo de su historia. The dynamics of narrative that is reinventing a genre from its connec- tions with popular culture. In summary, this essay is designed to recover the history of the detective genre since its development in the auroral literature of Edgar Allan Poe to its transfer to television series such as Columbo, Kojak, Miami Vice, Cagney & Lacey, CSI, NYPD Blue or The Wire. The emphasis is put on the analysis of the behavior of police reports in relation to changes in time, social contexts and the links that this genre has grown in popular culture throughout history.

Luis Antonio Ramos Has Established a Legacy of Work on Stage, Film And
Luis Antonio Ramos has established a legacy of work on stage, film and television since starring opposite his childhood idol, Academy Award winner José Ferrer, in “The Sun and the Moon.” Ramos is best known for his role as bail bondsman Ricky Guzman on USA Network’s “The Huntress,” for which he was nominated for an Alma Award in 2002. He has earned critical acclaim for his extensive career in television, having been a series regular on “The Brian Benben Show” and “Queens” and had recurring roles on “Early Edition,” “In the House,” “Ink” and “Martin.” He has also guest starred on such renowned shows as “How to Make it in America,” “Common Law,” “Burn Notice,” “The Unit,” “The Closer,” “Numb3rs,” “The Shield,” “CSI: Miami,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Nip/Tuck,” “Friends,” “Alias,” “NYPD Blue” and “Law & Order.” This fall Ramos can be seen in the film “The Miracle of Spanish Harlem,” in which he plays the lead character of Tito.
