1. Introduction

Any excerpts from the UCI regulations found within this document are provided for the sake of convenience only. The full text of the version of the UCI Regulations presently in force which is found on www.uci.org shall always apply, save for any specific regulation or special derogation found within this competition guide.

2. Rules

9.1.018 Each National shall participate in World Championships in a spirit of friendship and fair play and contribute to the utmost to the success of the Championships.

9.1.019 Each National Federation participating in the World Championships shall, register with the UCI, within the deadlines specified by the latter, all riders and other persons that will be on or will accompany its delegation (officials, attendants, guests, etc.).

9.1.022 In general each National Federation shall co-operate with the organiser and, to the extent possible, facilitate his work.

9.2.001 It is the National Federations who select riders to participate in World Championships.

9.2.003 National Federations shall enter with the UCI via its website. National Federations which do not have Internet access may enter using the entry forms provided by the UCI.

9.2.004 The enrolment of the federations’ riders shall reach the UCI at the latest within the following deadline:

Monday 9th to Friday 20th August 2021, 12:00 CET

9.2.005 Save in the case of an act of God, a National Federation that has enrolled by returning the enrolment form for a World Championship and that does not participate shall be liable to a fine of CHF 500 to CHF 2,000.

9.2.007 Federations shall announce the names of the riders who are to take the start to the Commissaires Panel by noon at the latest on the eve of the first race of the competition.

Riders’ Confirmation

Thursday 2nd September 2021 09:00 - 12:00

9.2.008 Unless prevented by an act of God, a rider once announced as taking the start and who fails to present, shall be liable to a fine of CHF 500 to CHF 5,000. An injury or sickness shall be recognised as an act of God only if the rider is declared incapable of taking the start by the UCI official doctor.

3. Selection of Participants

9.2.055 Riders wishing to compete in the UCI Trials World Championships may register only under the auspices and through the agency of their national federation, using the UCI online registration system (www.uci.org).

All competition entry dates must be respected and no late entries will be accepted. Pre- registration for the UCI trials world championships is subject to the following restrictions:

- maximum number of riders per country and per category: five - riders not allowed to take part in more than one category.

All riders/team managers must attend the riders’ confirmation presenting their licenses and picking up their race numbers.

The riders confirmation deadlines are indicated on the official programme published on the UCI website. Riders not being confirmed before the indicated deadline, did not complete the registration procedure and will not be able to compete at the event.

4. Riders Categories

9.2.057 Competition categories at the UCI Trials World Championships are:

9.2.058 Categories depend on age as stated in article 7.1.002

5. Competition Format

9.2.059 In all categories, the trials world championships shall include a ½ Finals and a Finals round.

½ Finals

The trials world championships will commence with a ½ Finals round. The world championships ½ Finals round is open to all riders entered. The ½ Finals round shall consist of three laps of five sections. The commissaires’ panel will set the competition time according to the number of entered riders.

Final round

The best six riders in the ½ Finals round will be eligible to compete in the Finals round. The scores gained in the ½ Finals round do not in the Finals round.

Final procedure

At the Finals round it will be applied the six by six system:

Before the start, the six riders will be presented on the start podium, in inverse order to the position obtained in the ½ Finals round. After the presentation, they must go to section one.

The order to start will be determined by the result obtained in the ½ Finals round. Rider that obtained the sixth place shall start first in section one and so on. The same principle applies for the remaining sections.

Once a rider finishes a section, the next rider has maximum thirty seconds to start the section. After this thirty second the section time is running.

In case of slight injury, the other rider must overtake and start the section in front of him/her.

In case of tie, article 7.1.047 of the UCI Trials Regulations shall apply.

Competitors taking part in the Finals must have two bicycles at their disposal. The spare second bicycle shall remain in the rider’s area for the duration of the competition and may be retrieved as a replacement for the first bicycle.

A rider qualified for the Final who chooses not to compete in the Final shall get seventh placed in the Final classification and shall (in the Final) be replaced by the seventh placed rider in the ½ Finals. Two qualified riders choosing not to compete in the Final shall get seventh and eighth placed in the final classification and shall be replaced by the seventh and eighth placed riders in the ½ Finals (in the Finals), etc.

9.2.060 The number of sections and laps are as indicated below:

9.2.061 Competitors having obtained the highest number of points are declared:

The UCI will award the first three riders ranked in each category.

National Team Competition 7.5.001 General A trials national team competition shall be established in a dedicated section at the trials world championships 7.5.002 Entries

The rider’s participation for the trials national team competition must be done by the team manager at the rider’s confirmation.

The maximum number of riders in a trials national team competition is 5, one per category:

The minimum number of riders in a trials national team competition is 3. They must belong to different categories. 7.5.003 Starting procedure

The total number of UCI points a national team is obtained by adding the sum of each rider's individual UCI points. The total number of UCI points will determine the start order in the UCI Trials National Team competition. The national team with the lowest total UCI points will start first.

The start order of the riders in each national team is determined by each team manager.

The first rider to start the competition belongs to the national team with the lowest UCI points. The second rider is from the national team with the second lowest UCI points and so on. The same procedure applies for the remaining riders.

Riders ride the sections one by one and only once. 7.5.004 Section description

The section, which must be split in five sectors, has to be designed/built according to the UCI trials section building guide. Each sector is composed by different obstacles marked with four different levels (gates).

The length of a section must be between 30 to 50 m and it must be lineal or in a U-shape.

The five sectors of each section must be clearly defined by a cross-wise tape on the ground in order to identify each part.

Each sector must contain the four different levels (gates) indicated with coloured arrows. Riders will get a different score depending on the level (gate) they choose to ride.

Points scored with each level (gate) . White gate: 10 points . Blue gate: 20 points . Red gate: 30 points . Yellow gate: 40 points

7.5.006 Results

The points scored by each rider count as points for his national team’s overall score.

The winner is the national team with the highest score.

In case of tie, the national team that scored points on the highest level (gate) will break the tie.

6. Registration and Riders’ Confirmation

Remarks

The name of the hotel where the riders will overnight must be given during the online registration. The name and contact information of the team manager for each national federation must also be given.

7. Riders confirmation

What? The participation of all riders entered in the UCI Trials World Championships must be confirmed during riders’ confirmation. To ensure his participation, either the rider himself or the team manager for his country must go to rider’s confirmation.

Please note that each National Federation taking part in the 2021 UCI Trials World Championships must register all persons included in the delegation using the following form:

All National Team staff will receive accreditations with access to the event venue and restricted areas, as granted by the Organiser Committee. To avoid misunderstandings, UCI has decided to grant a maximum number of accreditations to certain types according to the list below.

Please take note of the following:

 On site requests (requests that are made after the on-line accreditation is closed) will be limited in number and subject to evaluation on a case-by-case basis. Approval of such late requests cannot be guaranteed even if quota mentioned above has not yet been reached. We strongly recommend that accreditation requests are made before 20th August 2021 using the google form.

 All National Team staff will receive a wristband as evidence that riders’ confirmation is completed. It is mandatory for entering at the venue.

12. Use of Drones

Without prejudice to stricter requirements according to the national legislation, the use of drones is prohibited above the course and within 10 meters from the course. Moreover, the user must ensure the drone at no time puts the security of riders, followers and spectators at risk.

13. UCI Athletes’ commission vote

The UCI Athletes’ Commission comprises 20 members, including 2 members representing Trials (1 male and 1 female). Commission members are elected by their peers every 4 years.

As part of this renewal, nominations for the election of the athletes representing the UCI Trials (one man and one woman) are now welcome. Interested parties are invited to submit their candidatures until 22 August 2021.

Applications, including CV and contact details, can be sent to [email protected]. For full details on the admission requirements, please consult the Athletes’ Commission Terms of Reference.

After a review of the candidates, an official candidature list will be published on 27 August. The Trials specialists participating at the upcoming UCI Trials World Championships in Vic - () will choose one male and one female Trials athlete representative for the next Olympic cycle.

The vote for the members representing Trials will be held during the 2021 UCI Trials World Championships, in Vic-Catalonia (ESP).

Only the athletes taking part in the Elite (Women and Men) categories of the 2021 UCI Trials World Championships shall be entitled to vote.

The vote’s location will be in the Trials Office, at the following time slots:

19. General Information

About Vic

Vic (Catalan pronunciation: [bik]) is the capital of the comarca of Osona (Catalan pronunciation: [uzonə]), in the of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. With a population of 48.000 people and a surface of 30.92 km2 the city is at 485 m above sea level.

Lying halfway between the sea and the , and just 70 kilometres from Barcelona, the city of Vic is the main demographic, administrative and services centre of a geographical area whose influence extends beyond the boundaries of the of Osona.

Vic’s long history, present in the streets and squares of the historical centre, coexists in harmony with recent urban developments, which in addition to its busy fairs and markets, the consolidation of the University of Vic and the growth of its industrial estates, reflect the dynamism of a cosmopolitan city.

It is a city rich in contrasts, a meeting point between tradition and modernity, between the legacy of the rural world and modern urban infrastructures, between the peace and quiet of a small city and fun, festive events.

Vic’s great wealth of heritage, clear to see in the quality of its museums, archives and historical buildings, as well as in the large number of associations devoted to all sorts of fields, is the expression of a city brimming with civic, cultural and artistic activity. The city’s economic structure is based on the retail, industrial and services sectors.

The array of shops in Vic is a strong attraction thanks to their high degree of specialisation. The industrial sector is characterised by its diversity, the most prominent sectors being agri-food, leather and metal. As regards services, the city boasts a wide range of administrative, healthcare, educational and social infrastructures and services.

As an episcopal see and capital of the county of Osona, Vic plays an active and important part in Catalonia’s network of . New transport routes and the improvement of existing ones have placed the city in a fantastic position to meet the demands of a modern society while preserving its essence and special character.

Transportation

Vic enjoys an outstanding location in Central Catalonia and on the Plain which shares its name. The city of Vic lies between the Pyrenees and metropolitan of Barcelona in the north-south direction, and between the coastal and inland of Catalonia in the east-west direction.

A series roadworks have been completed in recent years making access to the city faster and more convenient. Vic is just 69 km from Barcelona (55 min.), 60 km from (50 min.), 164 km from (120 min.) and 156 km from .

Fitness Vic workout centre in agreement with the Organizer Committee put at disposal of the National Teams their facilities to perform physical training sessions for free.

20. Catering

The LOC offers the catering services on the event site. Due to the current situation the LOC strongly recommends to use this service as other food places are outside the bubble. All products are cooked, fresh and the majority are local and seasonal products. Please inform the company in case of allergies, intolerance or diet.

21. Covid requirements

Corona virus pandemic has affected everyone and a lot of changes are required in order to follow the safety protocols needed to hold a competition.

We are aware that these new measures might somehow seem annoying but for the safety of everyone and to be able to host this event we need everyone to follow the rules. We highly recommend to reduce the risks of infection to the minimum. Depending on the specific situations, eventual positive tests might place the competition at risk of being cancelled.

Basic safety measures

Basic safety measures are required such as masks kept on mouth and nose all the time, keeping the safety distance of at least 1,5 meters all the time.

Travel

All travellers coming from outside Spain, by air or sea, must fill in an electronic public health form before starting their journey. The form is available at the following link or in SPAIN TRAVEL HEALTH-SpTH app (Android and Apple). Once completed, the traveller will received a QR code that must be presented to the country.

PCR test

An official document of PCR test with negative result is required for each rider and team staff member to enter Spain carried out in the 72h prior to your arrival. This certificate or supporting document must be the original, will be written in Spanish, English, French or German and may be presented in paper or electronic format. The document will contain, at least, the following information: traveller’s name, passport or ID number, date of the test, identification and contact details of the centre that performs the analysis, technique used and negative test result.

All National Team members must perform a negative (24, 48 or 72 h) PCR test before the start of the event. The negative PCR test has to be submitted during the accreditation process.

Bubbles

Each team must keep on their specific bubble in the team area separated by the other with safety distances.

Spectators

A maximum of 3000 spectators might be allowed to watch the competition. Spectators are to be considered as another isolate bubble and won’t be allowed to get in contact with the other two bubbles (riders/teams and media/organization).

Annex 3: National Team area booking form

The form below must be answered by every National Team who comes with its own tent or for those National Teams who request to hire a tent.

DATE OF ARRIVAL AND DISMANTLE

Stands must be set-up on Thursday, 2nd September 2021 from 09h00 to 18h00

We would like to remind you that it will only be possible to dismantle within the National Team Area after 18h30 on Sunday, 5th September 2021.

REGULATIONS

All bookings must be received before August 13th 2021. All those who do not book a space in the National Team Area will not be allowed.

All booking requests are to be considered confirmed unless otherwise stated by the organizers. Water supply is not available in the National Team Area. Security surveillance will be provided in the national Team Area; however we recommend that you do not leave valuable objects unattended. The UCI and LOC are in no way responsible for any thefts or damage caused to objects or people. The spaces inside of the area will be arranged at the sole discretion of the LOC. By sending the following form, I hereby declare that the UCI and LOC will in no way be liable.

By sending this form I authorize the treatment of my personal data, in accordance with the Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 December 5th of data protect. I have the right to cancel, transform or correct my personal data at any time.

All Expo Area booked must be paid the fee indicted in the form and send the payment document to: [email protected]

All bookings must be received before August 13th 2021. All those who do not book a space in the Expo Area will not be allowed.

It is only possible to acquire a space in the Team/Expo Area by paying a fee of 12,00 €/m2. All booking requests are to be considered confirmed unless otherwise stated by the organizers.
