The margins have been thin throughout the start to the South Atlantic League Asheville (Rockies) 3 11 6.0 season with Greensboro, Kannapolis, and Lakewood having all played eight one-run contests to Greenville (Red Sox) 3 11 6.0 this point. The Grasshoppers are 6-2 in one-run contests this year. • Jason!: Charleston catcher Jason Lopez played hero for the RiverDogs last night, picking a clutch moment to launch his first home run of the season, a game-tying two-run shot in the eighth. It marked just the fourth home run for Lopez in 115 career minor league games, his first since July 24 last season with Staten Island. # Second-Half Division Winner • Where Are We?: The RiverDogs matchup with the Greensboro Grasshoppers in a four-game series, marking the first time since 2013 that the Yankees and Marlins affiliates have clashed in league play, either home or road. During the 2013 campaign, Charleston took the season series 4-3, including nabbing two out of three at then NewBridge Bank Park from July 17-19. RiverDogs first baseman Greg Bird went 11-for-24 (.458), 3 HR in 7 games total against Greensboro. • Scouting out “the ‘Boro”: The RiverDogs hitters will be licking their chops stepping up to the plate at First National Bank Field. Hess had no home runs when he hit just .185 in his pro debut last season in 39 games. Team HR (rank): 8 (T9th) • You Mess with the Bull(pen), you get the Horns: The RiverDogs bullpen has started off the season on a dominant run, Runs Scored (rank): 43 (14th) allowing just three earned in 51.0 innings to start the year (good for a 0.53 ERA). Charleston’s relievers were the strength of Team ERA (rank): 2.73 (3rd) the playoff-caliber 2017 team, accounting for a league-low 1.98 ERA with 581 strikeouts in 509.1 innings. Team K (rank): 136 (T3rd) • Pinstriped Prospects: Once again, the RiverDogs tap into one of the premier farm systems in baseball with the New York Team SV (rank): 5 (T3rd) 2018 vs. GBO: 0-1 Yankees. Recently rated the second-best farm system by Baseball America pre-season and the sixth-best by MLB.com, the Bronx Bombers boast five of MLB.com’s Preseason Top-100 prospects. PARK Updated April 23, 2021 COVID-19 REAUDINESS PLAN 1 GENERAL STATEMENT The Charleston RiverDogs have prepared this document to assist with navigating the new policies and best practices for operating at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park within the environment of the COVID-19 epidemic for ticketed events. The contents herein are intended to preserve the safety of staff, players, fans and other patrons as the case may be, and they supersede any prior instruction by the Team. The RiverDogs will continue to follow the guidance of national, state and local governments and agencies, as well as the directives of Major League Baseball and the Tampa Bay Rays, to develop and update these policies. The input of local, regional medical and health partners will also play a significant role in the continued development of the below policies and best practices. As necessary and appropriate, these guidelines, policies and best practices may be changed and/or modified. BALLPARK OPERATIONS A. Staff/Guest Sanitation Amenities: The RiverDogs have added hand-sanitizing stations throughout Riley Park, including at gates, concession stands, and restroom entrances. B. Face Coverings: All patrons older than 2 years old will be required to wear a mask covering both mouth and nose at all times, except when actively eating or drinking in the patron’s seat. C. Cashless Purchasing: The RiverDogs will install cashless options at all major points of sale in or about the Ballpark. This will be achieved through the investment in touchless units that will connect to and will provide fans the ability to tap or insert their credit card without interpersonal bodily interaction.

    2019 MiLBTM COMMUNITY REPORT LETTER FROM PAT O’CONNER LETTER FROM PAT Dear Friends and Colleagues, Thank you for your efforts in making 2019 another successful philanthropic year for Minor League Baseball, our 160 teams and MiLB Charities. As we prepare for the 2020 season, we have many accomplishments from last season to celebrate. None of our efforts would be possible without the great work of our teams, continued dedication from staff at the national office and the support of our millions of fans nationwide. For a fifth straight year, all 160 clubs reported their charitable giving and contributions, allowing us to accurately assess our collective efforts. It gives me great pleasure to say that in 2019, MiLB Charities donated nearly $50 million in cash and gifts in kind from our teams, leagues and partners — once again setting a new record-high total. In addition, MiLB and its teams nearly doubled our volunteer efforts from 2018, giving more than 26,000 hours in service of our communities. This report highlights MiLB Charities’ many programs and initiatives, including the MiLB CommUNITY Initiative presented by Allegiant Air, the Stars & Stripes Caps Program with New Era Cap Company, the Derrick Hall Pro-State Foundation Father’s Day Initiative, Ed Randall’s Fans For the Cure, the Joe Torre Safe At Home Domestic Violence Awareness Initiative, and the “Cover Your Bases” Sun Safety Initiative with the American Cancer Society. These are just a few of the ways our teams and partners are working together to make positive and lasting impacts in our MiLB communities.

He answers were understandably short and clipped, as if he was alighting from an Uber in front of Yankees Stadium. “Thank you. Call me tomorrow. Yeah, mad- ness,” were Ford’s responses to three questions. “Mike has earned the opportunity to play in the big leagues,” said Ford’s college mentor, Princeton coach Scott Bradley. “We are all very excited to see him in a Yankee uniform. Bradley’s first major league stop was with the Yankees. Being elevated from the Scranton-Wilkes Barre Railriders to Yankees Stadium can be a bit like Dorothy Gale’s flight from Kansas to Oz, but if anyone is capable of a handling that drastic change of environment, it is the unflappable Ford. The Princeton and Hun School grad from Belle Mead in Somerset County has certainly not been the anointed one during his rise through the Yankees minor league system. Indeed, Ford qualifies as the relentless grinder, head down, eyes focused on his goals. The latest injury to Yankees first baseman Greg Bird finally opened the door to ‘The Show’ for the former Diamond Jack. Ford followed a strong 2018 season with the Railriders with a fast start to 2019.
