(June 15, 2021) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders scored 10 runs in their final two at-bats and pulled off a stunning 12-6 comeback win over date opponent result the Syracuse Mets on Tuesday night at PNC Field. The right-hander only recorded one out in the game June 13 @ Buffalo (Trenton) W, 8-0 and walked four batters while throwing 35 pitches in the frame. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre answered right back when Estevan Florial led off the bottom of the first June 15 Syracuse W, 12-6 with a solo home run off Akeem Bostick. Syracuse tallied a run off Brian Keller in the second to take a 6-1 lead, but struggled to generate any offense after that. June 15 Syracuse 7:05 p.m. The Mets had only one hit after the second inning. June 17 Syracuse 7:05 p.m. The RailRiders cut the deficit to 6-2 in the bottom of the fifth, when Florial doubled and score on a Hoy Park single. Park finished the game 4-for-4 with two runs June 18 Syracuse 7:05 p.m. scored, a walk, a triple and three RBIs. Florial collected his second straight three-hit game, adding a home run and two doubles, scoring four runs and driving in three. After losing on opening night, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre reeled off five straight wins to close the series at NBT Bank Stadium overall head-to-head: 6-1 in an impressive offensive showing. The Baby Bombers hit .306 AVG/.426 OBP/.578 SLG in that series, slugging 15 home runs and scoring at date location result least 10 runs in a game twice. In the memorable Game 141 of the 2019 season, when the RailRiders completed the Miracle on Montage Mountain. Sunday’s contest continued a streak of 17.1 consecutive scoreless innings thrown by the SWB pitching staff, dating back to the second July 28 NBT Bank Stadium 6:35 p.m. inning on Saturday. That stretch, however came to an end in the first inning on Tuesday night. July 29 NBT Bank Stadium 6:35 p.m. ON A SILVER TREY: RailRiders outfielder Trey Amburgey had his 18-game hitting streak snapped on Tuesday night, when he went 0-for-2 July 30 NBT Bank Stadium 6:35 p.m. with a walk and two RBIs against the Mets. The 18-game streak is the longest for any one player in Triple-A East this season, and was actually July 31 NBT Bank Stadium 6:35 p.m. a 20-game streak dating back to the final two games of the 2019 season. Despite the hit streak ending, Amburgey extended his on-base August 1 NBT Bank Stadium 1:05 p.m. streak to an impressive 27 consecutive games dating back to August 26, 2019. He is hitting .383/.450/.702 (36-for-94) in that span. The SWB franchise record for longest on-base streak belongs to Brandon Drury, who reached base in 32 straight games in the 2018 season. 2019 results: SWB RailRiders, 14-6 all-time series: RailRiders Lead 314-216 OTHER STREAKS OF NOTE: In addition to Trey Amburgey’s impressive run, the RailRiders offense features two other players with double-digit on-base streaks. Outfielder Greg Allen is riding a season-long 14-game on-base streak into play on Sunday afternoon, and infielder Hoy Park railriders at a glance has reached base safely in 14 consecutive games. Allen has also played in two other games this season in which he did not record an official plate appearance, therefore not jeopardizing his streak and spent time on the injured list in the middle of his streak. 2021 regular season: 24-11 COMEBACK KIDS: The RailRiders erased multi-run deficits three times en route to victory in their last seven games. On Tuesday, they trailed GB: +1.0 1st, AAA East Northeast 5-0 and eventually won 7-5, with a two-run single from Derek Dietrich in the top of the eighth putting SWB ahead for good. Then on Saturday, Home: 11-6 Away: 13-5 the RailRiders erased an early 4-0 advantage to win 6-4 in 10 innings.
