ROGATE! FIAT ! “May the Divine Will always be blessed!” Newsletter No. 116 January 1, A.D. 2012 Feast of the Virgin Mary the Mother of God The precise title “Mother of God” goes back at least to the third or fourth century. In the Greek form Theotokos (God-bearer), it became the touchstone of the Church’s teaching about the Incarnation. The Council of Ephesus in 431 insisted that the holy Fathers were right in calling the holy virgin Theotokos. At the end of this particular session, crowds of people marched through the street shouting: “Praised be the Theotokos!” 1 Luisa and the Blessed Virgin Mary By Padre Bernardino Bucci Photo of the painting of Luisa’s vision of the birth of Christ Mary Blessed Virgin Mother of God enters fully into the public revelation of God as is evident from the Gospels. Mary is the Mother of God; the “THEOTOKOS” that enters into the greatest mystery of God, the Incarnation, and is for this reason an object of Faith, in fact, no one can deny her divine motherhood which is an article of Faith. In fact if someone should dare to deny Her Divine Motherhood he would automatically place himself outside the fold of the Church. Mary remains always the Bride of the Holy Spirit, the Mother of Christ True God and True Man, and Mother of the Church.

  • Holy Hour of Reparation Hope for a World in Chaos
:·a -: HOLY HOUR OF REPARATION HOPE FOR A WORLD IN CHAOS "Reparation is a work destined to save society." His Holiness Pope Pius IX In the Roman Catholic tradition, an Act of Reparation is a prayer, devotion or sacrifice with the intent to repair the "sins of others", e.g. For the repair of the sin of blasphemy, the sufferings of Jesus Christ or as Acts of Reparation to the Virgin Mary. These prayers do not usually involve a petition for a living or deceased beneficiary, but aim to repair sins. In his encyclical Miserentissimus Redemptor Pope Pius XI defined reparation as follows: The creature's love should be given in return for the love of the Creator, another thing follows from this at once, namely that to the same uncreated Love, if so be it has been neglected by forgetfulness or violated by offense, some sort of compensation must be rendered for the injury, and this debt is commonly called by the name of Reparation [2] St John Paul II referred to reparation as the "unceasing effort to stand beside the endless crosses on which the Son of God continues to be crucified". Our Lord was comforted by an Angel in the Garden of Gethsemane. Surely, when the sins of the world were being put onto His sacred flesh, including yours and mine, Christ was filled with love and pity for us. There is a need today for more people to come to our Lord in the garden as angels of consolation, to console Him in the work of our redemption.

This is always a special time in the year where we can focus on the great love of God through works of prayer, sacrifice, and almsgiving. • Created by the Hospital Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington Prayers of the HOLY FACE CHAPLET the Holy Face Chaplet Is Composed of a Cross and 39 Beads
Created by the Hospital Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington Prayers of the HOLY FACE CHAPLET The Holy Face Chaplet is composed of a cross and 39 beads. The Cross calls to mind the mystery of our Redemption. The 33 small beads represent the 33 years of the mortal life of our Lord. The first 30 small beads recall to mind the 30 years of Jesus’ private life. They are divided into 5 groups of 6 with the intention of honoring the 5 senses (touch, hearing, sight, smell and taste) of Jesus, which have their seat principally in His Holy Face. The last group of 3 beads recall the public life of the Savior and honor the wounds of His adorable Face. The Gloria is repeated 7 times within the chaplet in honor of the 7 last words of Jesus on the Cross, and the 7 sorrows of the Immaculate Virgin. The Sign of the Cross In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 1 - On the Crucifix O God, come to my assistance – O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Many artists have tried to capture the Holy Face of Jesus, but there are two sources that are believed to show His true face. (1) The Shroud of Turin is a centuries-old linen cloth that bears the negative image (front & back) of a crucified man, and is believed to be the burial cloth of Jesus.
