His Holiness Pope Pius IX In the Roman Catholic tradition, an Act of Reparation is a prayer, devotion or sacrifice with the intent to repair the "sins of others", e.g. For the repair of the sin of blasphemy, the sufferings of Jesus Christ or as Acts of Reparation to the Virgin Mary. These prayers do not usually involve a petition for a living or deceased beneficiary, but aim to repair sins. The Cross calls to mind the mystery of our Redemption. The 33 small beads represent the 33 years of the mortal life of our Lord. The first 30 small beads recall to mind the 30 years of Jesus’ private life. They are divided into 5 groups of 6 with the intention of honoring the 5 senses (touch, hearing, sight, smell and taste) of Jesus, which have their seat principally in His Holy Face. The last group of 3 beads recall the public life of the Savior and honor the wounds of His adorable Face.
