Approved July 11, 2000. • ½ cent sales tax initiative – Provided leadership throughout the sales tax referendum campaign by presenting to over thirty-eight civic and community event on the construction needs of our school system. The voters approved $450 million dollar sales tax referendums on October 9, 2001. • “Challenge Grant” U. S. Department of Education – Provided technical assistance and district leadership to Mainland High School in the writing and winning of a multimillion dollar grant that developed technology curriculum available to schools throughout America. Grant was awarded to Mainland High School on May, 1996 • Donation – Facilitated the largest individual monetary donation to Volusia County Schools by Mr. Vince Carter, graduate of Mainland High School, for $2.5 million dollars to benefit the athletic center at Mainland High School, September, 2002. • Governor’s Council on Health, Fitness and Wellness in the workplace, schools and community; member 1994-1995. • National Conference Presenter: (Not an inclusive listing but a sample of presentations) 1.
