RELATED EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES AND EXPERIENCES: • Volusia County School Board’s Union Negotiation Team – Served as a member 1995-2010. • Charter School District Initiative: Led the Charter School District initiative through leadership of the advisory committee, the legislative effort to support charter district House Bill 2147, and the presentation of the Volusia County Schools application to the Governor and Cabinet in Tallahassee, Florida. Approved July 11, 2000. • ½ cent sales tax initiative – Provided leadership throughout the sales tax referendum campaign by presenting to over thirty-eight civic and community event on the construction needs of our school system. The voters approved $450 million dollar sales tax referendums on October 9, 2001. • “Challenge Grant” U. S. Department of Education – Provided technical assistance and district leadership to Mainland High School in the writing and winning of a multimillion dollar grant that developed technology curriculum available to schools throughout America.
