This Grade II listed building dates to the 17th Century and still retains the gabled dormers, Gothic windows, heavily beamed ceilings, latch interior doors and quarry tiled flooring. This spacious house offers two sitting rooms, a dining room, snug and office as well as a large breakfast kitchen, utility, boiler room, and a useful barn. As you enter The Old Manor House, through a vestibule, boot and cloakroom, you will discover the heart of the house a large kitchen/breakfast area with slate tiled flooring and beamed ceiling as well as an array of units and space for a table and chairs. The utility room joins a large barn with exposed trusses and an oak sprung floor, which leads out the front and rear gardens. A secondary utility room stands off the kitchen which has access to a sitting room and a wash room with WC. The first of the two sitting rooms, which is split-level, has French doors leading to the rear patio and garden. The room also has a decorative fireplace with wood burner, tiled flooring and beamed ceiling. Upstairs, you will find six bedrooms on the first floor and an office, two storage rooms and a sauna on the second floor (these three rooms have period designed gothic windows and could be used as a self-contained flat). The master bedroom has a balcony overlooking the manicured garden and inner courtyard, plus there is a family bathroom with bath and shower, and an additional separate shower room. Pretty gardens add to the house's character. Approaching through a private gated entrance into a gravelled courtyard, the half-acre upon which the house stands creates a lovely setting and all so close to the city. 4 5 Approx. gross internal floor area 6297 sq ft Important Notice Fixtures and Fittings Whilst every attempt has been made to ensure the accuracy of the floor plans Fixtures, fittings and garden statues are specifically excluded but may be available. contained here, measurements of doors, windows and rooms are approximate and no responsibility is taken for any error, omission or mis- FHP Living, their clients and any joint agents give notice that: statement. Date: xxx 2014 Contact: Esme Macauley www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk Tel: 0115 876 3382 Email: [email protected] Nottingham schools make a comeback The schools being turned around after “Inadequate” judgements last year are “making a strong recovery”, education bosses say. Last December seven City schools and academies were judged to be failing their pupils by the Government education watchdog Ofsted. The schools rapidly drew up improvement plans to tackle the problems identified. The City Council intervened to give specialist support. One year on and Ofsted has endorsed the progress being made in schools to get back on track. Making strides in behaviour and attendance Two of the first improvements are better pupil behaviour and attendance. Twelve months ago all of the schools had attendance rates well below the national average. Today the figures have improved by up to 4% and are now more in line with attendance rates nationally. Pupil behaviour has also improved with more students demonstrating a good attitude to learning. Educations bosses put the improvements down to the consistent enforcement of attendance and behaviour policies. Cllr Sam Webster, Executive Assistant for Schools at the City Council, said: “The improvements in school attendance are really quite remarkable. It is incredibly challenging to turn around poor attitudes to learning, to ensure more pupils are consistently at school and working hard. “School leaders have to be congratulated for embracing new policies and approaches. They have consistently taken a zero tolerance stance to unauthorised school absence and poor behaviour such as swearing, wearing trainers and using mobile phones.
