Secondary Schools Nottinghamshire For Nottinghamshire community schools, the standard admission oversubscription criteria are detailed in the Admissions to schools: guide for parents. The application breakdown summary at the back of this document is based on information on national offer day 1 March 2016. For academy, foundation and voluntary aided schools which were oversubscribed in Year 7 for 2016/2017 it is not possible to list the criterion under which each application was granted or refused as the criteria for each of these schools is different and is applied by the individual admission authority. Catholic pupils who are looked after or who were previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, residence or special guardianship order; 2. Baptised Catholics*; 3. Looked after children or children who were previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, residence or special guardianship order; 4. Christians/Denominations other than Catholic, who can provide a certificate either of baptism or dedication; 5. All other applicants. *A copy of Baptismal certificates must be submitted with applications to ensure correct categorisation. Where a distinction has to be made within one of the above categories, preference will be given to siblings, then, as a tie break, distance from the student’s home address (as defined by the Local Authority) to the Main Entrance of All Saints School “as the crow flies” will be used, preference being given to the shortest distance. If the Academy is oversubscribed, the following criteria will be used to determine the allocation of places in the order set out below: 1. A looked after child or a child who has previously been looked after. 2. Children who live in the catchment area on the closing date for applications. 3. Children who live outside the catchment area but the parent is a member of staff and has been employed at the Academy for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the Academy is made or the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage. 4. Children who live outside the catchment area but who attend the Arnold Hill Family of Schools: Arnbrook, Arnold View, Arno Vale, Coppice Farm, Ernehale and Mapperley Plains and were on the roll of one of these schools at the time of the closing date of application. 5. Other children who live outside the catchment area. Oversubscription Criteria for the 6th Form Where the number of applications for admission exceeds the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied in the order set out below, to decide which children to admit: 1.
