Proposal for a regulation Article 39 – paragraph 1 a (new)

Text proposed by the Commission Amendment

However, in duly justified cases highlighted in their CAP Strategic Plans, Member States may grant types of interventions to sectors, other than listed in point (f) of the first paragraph, which are strategic for the social, economic or environmental stability of rural areas.

Or. en

Justification

Member States should be able to extend the list of sectors laid down in paragraph 1 of this Article to include other sectors they deem economically, socially, or environmentally important, and which are simultaneously facing a difficult situation. In accordance with the principle of subsidiarity, Member States should be given more flexibility in choosing sectors to be granted coupled income support in order to better adapt this measure to the needs identified in the preparation of their CAP strategic plans.
