In his first season, Burroughs and his 2016-17 women’s basketball team earned the No. 6 seed in the MEAC Basketball Tournament with an 8-8 con- ference record. Freshman center Chance Graham led the Eagles in rebounds with 244 ranking fifth in the MEAC. Graham was named the 2016-17 MEAC Rookie of the Year and was named to the All-MEAC Third Team and All-MEAC Rookie Team honors. Red-shirt junior guard Genesis Lucas earned All-ME- AC First Team honors after ranking in the MEAC’s top-10 in eight statistical categories.

Burroughs, a Coppin State alum, previously was at the University of the District of Columbia where he served as the head women’s basketball coach last season and previously as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UDC from 2011-16.
