    PRESS RELEASE: Kenya Airways Resumes Domestic Passenger Flights Kenya Airways to resume domestic services with 2 daily flights to Mombasa & 1 daily to Kisumu Nairobi, July 12 2020… Kenya Airways (KQ) will resume its domestic flights on Wednesday 15 July 2020, following the lifting of the restriction of movement in and out of Nairobi and Mombasa counties as directed by H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta. KQ has been working closely with the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Health and Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) to implement a wide range of safety measures and protocols as they gear up for the resumption of passenger services. The airline will fly two times daily to the coastal city of Mombasa and once daily to the lakeside city of Kisumu as it continues to review the option of increasing frequencies as demand picks. Commenting on this, Allan Kilavuka, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Airways said that the airline’s utmost priority continues to be the health and safety of the passengers, crew, and staff. “I want to thank our customers for giving us the opportunity to serve them and for trusting us to get them to their different destinations safely.     CAPACITY BUILDING FOR CO2 MITIGATION FROM INTERNATIONAL AVIATION FOURTH SEMINAR MOMBASA, KENYA, 12-14 DECEMBER 2018 PRESENTED BY: PETER WAFULA AIRPORT MANAGER MOI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABILITY • KAA strives for environmental sustainability and has a fully fledged environmental section that works towards promoting integration of environmental considerations in all airport activities in compliance with environmental standards and legislations • Towards achieving Environmental sustainability objective, KAA has undertaken various environmental initiatives; which include establishment of solar power plants at Eldoret Airport, Manda Airport and now MIA through the ICAO-EU financial support. 2 KAA ENVIRONMENT INITIATIVES • Development of an Environmental Policy • Development of EIA/EA guidelines • Development of Noise Maps and Noise mitigation action plans for JKIA, MIA, EIA, KIA and soon Wilson Airport. KAA is the first institution to achieve this in the country 3 CO2 REDUCTION MEASURES • KAA is committed to reducing GHG Emissions at the Gate and on the Ground we are working with Airlines to reduce emissions from APUs and Ground Support Equipment (such as tractors, ground power, pneumatic power, push backs, buses, refueling trucks). KAA has installed Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) that are environmental friendly. Airlines are connecting to the APUs instead of using the GPUs which are run by fossil fuels in order to reduce emissions generated during aircraft servicing. 4 Replacement of current streetlights with LED in All Airports 5 • Construction of New Terminal buildings that are more environmental friendly with natural lighting. 6 • KAA has planted and maintained trees in various airports to promote ecological restoration: 200,000 trees in Eldoret Airport, 150,000 in JKIA, 6000 in Kitale, 3000 in Isiolo Airport, 3000 in Nyaribo Airstrip, All these trees were planted as a carbon sink.

    THE NATIONAL WILDLIFE CONSERVATION STATUS REPORT 2015 - 2017 Ministry of Tourism www.tourism.go.ke and Wildlife Republic of Kenya Foreword Wildlife Service in managing and protecting this resource. During this period the government financed the wildlife sector to the tune of Ksh 6.8billion for both recurrent and development expenditures in addition to Kshs 513 million for compensation of human wildlife conflict cases. The sixth schedule, lists 245 endangered species and each requires a recovery plan to be developed. Currently only 22 endangered species have recovery plans developed. In the next period we shall be working with the various partners and stakeholders to expedite the development and implementation of endangered species recovery plans while reviewing the species listed in schedule three. The IUCN lists 463 endangered species of flora and fauna in Kenya. Section 44(1-4) requires all wildlife conservation areas to have Gazetted management plans developed and implemented in a participatory manner. This will inform development in protected areas. During this period three management plans were gazetted by my ministry and we intend to get more. Hon.
