ROOK AND POSITIVE INDUSTRIAL LIMITED (AWUTU PROJECT) MUNICIPAL WASTE TO ENERGY PLANT & TOMATO PASTE PROCESSING LINE PLANT IN SUPPORT OF GOV’T ONE DISTRIC ONE FACTORY [1] Executive Summary ROOK GROUP is engaged in the research development and promotion of renewable energy, components and solar energy power system; Municipal waste to energy; and then food commodities since establishment. MISSION STATEMENT Our mission is to provide sustainable waste and energy solutions to ensure no waste is ever wasted. This is how we are powering today and protecting tomorrow to support the Gov’t initiative of PLANTING FOOD FOR JOBS and ONE DISTRICT ONE FACTORY, with Tomato plantation and processing line plant at Awutu Senya. The company has made continuous efforts for exploration and innovation to supply customers with safe, well developed and advanced products based on the precondition of using science to create fortune and using product to service markets, by cooperation with many solar energy component companies, municipal waste management and a combination of many energy and food security self-controlled experts RISK FREE TECHNOLOGY Energy-from-Waste (or waste-to-energy) facilities provide a safe, technologically advanced means of waste disposal that reduces greenhouse gases, generates clean energy and recycles metal. According to the U.S. EPA, for every ton of municipal solid waste processed at Energy-from-Waste facilities, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by approximately one ton. This is due to the avoidance of methane from landfills, the offset of greenhouse gases from fossil fuel electrical production and the recovery of metals for recycling. GHANA ENERGY Ghana needs about 3,000MW from now to 2020 energy to supplement its energy requirement a study has shown for the proposed factories that will spring out by ONE DISTRICT ONE FACTORY INITIATIVES. ROOK AND POSITIVE INDUSTRIAL LIMITED a company formed out of a joint venture between its foreign partners has resolved to provide 39.87kw/h from 1000ton garbage (Municipal waste to energy) to supplement that which is being provided by the government of Ghana. [2] THE FOOD SECURITY On the issue food commodities, Ghana is second leading importation of tomato products. The Gov’t also has increase school intakes through the free SHS. Our survey proves that 70% of tomato products are used as food ingredients for food preparation by the cateress, food banner, and cooks. Fresh and raw tomato is being imported from neighboring countries and the paste is from other countries. We ROOK studies prove that Awutu in the central region and Afram plains in the Eastern region lands are useful and fertile for tomato plantations. As such, a tomato processing line plant, with output capacity of 1.3ton per hour has been scheduled to establish in a 200acres factory and farm land at Awutu These projects are in support of Gov’t Initiative “PLANTING FOOD FOR JOB AND ONE DISTRICT ONE FACTORY”. The proposed projects are the ROOK GHANA INITIATIVE with the support and under the able leaderships of; Hon. Stephen K. Quaye, DCE Awutu Senya; Hon. George Ander Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya Constituency, The YEBOAH AFRANE TWIDAN FAMILY OF AWUTU TRADITIONAL COUNCIL [3] PREAMBLE The Awutu Breku is within Ghana and is north of Obrakrawa and Brayenda and southwest of Penim. Awutu Breku has an elevation of 129 meters. Sited On the Accra –Cape Coast highways with many resources, and prominent people such as; Hon. G. Ander MP & Dep. Min Comm Hon Stephen Quaye – DCE Awutu Hon Hana Teteth Former Abusuapannin K. Andoh MP and Min. Foreign Affair Yeboah Afrane Twidan Family Awutu Michael Essen, Former Black star and Chelsea player [4] However, due to the Ever-increasing demand for affordable user facilities coupled with the less than proportionate increases in the revenue resources for locals. Infrastructural development in the area has not been possible for project development to match up with the increase in the populations and settlement. This is a phenomenon which is not peculiar to AWUTU and for that matter, the country as a whole. In the light of the above, a concept of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) has evolved whereby public institutions team up With private institutions to pursue common interests for their mutual benefits. In furtherance of the above, Rook and Positive Industrial Limited with its operational head office in Ghana together with its funding partners, are desirous to enter into a PPP arrangement with the Locals and citizenry of the AWUTU in the area of providing state-of-the art 525mw MUNICIPAL WASTE TO ENERGY PLANT AND TOMATO PASTE PROCESSING LINE PLANT in support of Gov’t Initiative ONE DISTRICT ONE FACTORY It is worth noting that Rook and Positive Industrial Limited is capable of rising fully all the required funding needed to accomplish the objective of accommodating both the power plant and the TOMATO FACTORY This we believe will free the Citizenry/local partner’s time and resources to be re-channeled into its core business of farming investment to support the gov’t planting food for job. [5] LOCATION: The 455 acres site is on the AWUTU Township areas on litigation-free land allocated by YEBOAH AFRANE TWIDAN FAMILY OF AWUTU TRADITIONAL COUNCIL, (local partner/land owner) very well suited for property development. [7] PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT (A). MUNNICIPAL WASTE TO ENERGY POWER PLANT (B). FRESH & RAW TOMATOES PASTE PROCESSING LINE PLANT [8] (A) MUNNICIPAL WASTE TO ENERGY POWER PLANT [9] some waste site that can be managed and produce energy [10] Technology: Energy-from-Waste (or waste-to-energy) facilities provide a safe, technologically advanced means of waste disposal that reduces greenhouse gases, generates clean energy and recycles metal. The facility’s reprocessing of MSW with further gaining of synthetic gas to produce power is meant for introduction of modern original technologies aimed at commercial reprocessing of carbon-containing raw. Our manufacturing scheme and hardware of the facility is designed considering an opportunity for large-module production of the facility’s pieces and assembly units that allows transportation of equipment with motor vehicles and thus, reprocessing of MWS directly at its location and storing place. An original manufacturing scheme allows the use of exiting hydrocarbon gases and production synthetic gas for gaining of heat or power; this makes it autonomous at the maximum and expands the use of Facility, including places with deficit of energy. [11] This centralized facility minimizes the need for multiple weigh or transfer stations, thus a significant savings on vehicle wear, fuel, and man hours. Pyrolysis is similar to gasification and turns waste into energy-rich fuels by heating the waste under controlled conditions to produce a synthetic gas (syngas). While the processes are similar, there are some differences. Pyrolysis involves indirect heating of waste in the absence of oxygen. Synthesis gas and solid biochar are produced. The synthesis gas can be used to generate electricity or heat. The biochar can be used as a nutrient additive to improve soils. SYSTEM COMPONENET OF MSW [12] [13] [14] NEW OPPORTUNITIES An effective technology of domestic and industrial waste disposal provides unique possibilities for combined efforts of the state and private business Processing of dangerous and highly toxic waste into energy with no harm for the environment Real actions in health care activities, in clearing of territories and nature protection Use of an existing cities infrastructure for energy supply Conversion Plant meets the compatible to African and Caribbean region How it Works: Unique flameless process for waste disposal without pollution -Suitable for virtually all types of waste -Converts Waste to Power -Compact design suitable for metropolitan use -Meets the requirements of Canada and Europe on emissions into the - environment -Modular plant designed for specialist use -Suitable for any climate -Shutdowns during maintenance period are not required -Required personnel to operate the plant and new employment opportunity for waste sorting -Our conversion plants has no competition in the World by the Environmental standards and utilizes almost all kinds of waste with various end products [15] INPUT Organic waste (domestic, sewage sludge and others) Inorganic waste(plastic, rubber, etc.) Special waste(household, furniture, woods, etc.) OUTPUT Synthetic gas 1ton not know yet base on type of garbage Oil products – 1ton garbage produces 70gallons oil Electricity- 1ton garbage produces 525kw/h Heated Air (not needed) Coke Artic Clean Water The Liquid Artificial Synthetic Flammable Gas can be used in a regular Kitchen and also as a Motor Engine Fuel or convert to the Power The Artificial Flammable Synthetic gas will be supplied to Gas-generators stations to produce Electricity [16] Technology Advantages: Tested and proven engineering and technology Modular technical units Compliance with technical norms and standards of US, Canada & Europe Great economical and ecological benefits Separate waste collection is not necessary Profitable investments and low production cost Production of environmentally clean energy Advantages from Competitors -Low manufacturing and Low operating cost. -Mobile Modules gets assembled at the site into large manufacturing facility. -With decision to increase plant capacity, just add modules and not reconstruct all conversion plant -Spare parts availability due to the Local equipment manufacturing. -Plant does not required an external sources of energy, it’s generates its own.
