Deeg is a 32 kms away town which came into glory much earlier and is privileged to have a huge royal palace which was beautifully managed and partly inhabited by its legitimate inheritors till the year 1970. Deeg had been the pride of the Jat rulers of the time. Deeg Palace is a living testimony to the Jat rulers who fought bravely with the Mughals and Marathas onslaught. In a historical battle, 80,000 odd two armies were battered by the local army led by Raja Suraj Mal. When Raja Suraj Mal moved to Bharatpur, and made it his Capital, it relegated to the second place of the kingdom. Few historians are of the view that most of the stone used was looted from Mughal buildings and made use of in Deeg Palace after their victory. Since Bharatpur and Agra were the nearest places, the developments of these places affected the rule and rulers. Feeling jealous and due to political compulsions, the Deeg had been the centre of invasion by various enemy forces time to time. -

The project can be described as a "PAST in the FUTURE" , a proper balance between nature and culture. The project is a raw interface between building and landscape where people and plan co-exist and can share the same surface at the same time creates a clear system of interaction between nature and the city. The project provides an opportunity to level the city at the same time be more closer to it. where the nature provides an unexpected contrast to the city keeping balance with the culture. INDIA DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND PLANNING BACHELOR OF ARCHITECTURE PROGRAMME CURRICULUM JULY 2020 B.ARCH PROGRAMME CURRICULUM JULY 2020 1 BACHELOR OF ARCHITECTURE PROGRAMME The program shall be called Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) and shall be of 5-years duration. Classes for 1st year of a 5-year B.Arch. course shall not commence later than the 1st working day in the month of September of a calendar year (Prescribed under the Minimum Standards of Architectural Education, 2008; under section 21 of the Architects Act, 1972). Nature of Study Architecture is the design, visualization, aesthetic coordination, structural conceptualization, specification and supervision and giving responsible direction to the erection of buildings and built environments, effected through the medium of plans, specifications, investigations, consultations, contract documents and evaluations. The profession/practice of architecture encompasses the provision/delivery of services in relation with the site, design, physical planning, construction, addition, alteration, renovation, remodelling, restoration, conservation or adaptive reuse of a building or a group of buildings. Program Objectives The objectives of the 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program are aimed at integrating knowledge based and skill based pedagogies in a balanced manner, essential to enable the students to become responsive and sensitive architects. With this in mind the objectives are directed towards the following: 1. Understanding the basic philosophy and fundamental principles of the multidimensional aspects and multi-faceted nature of architecture. 2. Preparing the students to acquire and enhance creative problem solving skills including critical thinking and assessment and developing design concepts and solutions and presentation of these skills. -

PAHARI PAINTINGS FROM THE EVA AND KONRAD SEITZ COLLECTION part two francesca galloway ww.francescagalloway.com 1 2 The mountainous regions of northern India, historically divided into many small Rajput kingdoms, produced some of the most lyrical expressions of devotional and earthly love in Indian painting. This has always been Eva and Konrad Seitz’s passion. In this exhibition we primarily focus on Kangra, along with its major patrons and their religious and secular pursuits. Highlights include paintings from the ‘Tehri Garhwal’ and the ‘Lambagraon’ Gita Govinda, as well as rare portraits of Sansar Chand and his family. Vijay Sharma has identified a date equivalent to AD 1688 on the reverse of our Ragamala painting attributed to the circle of Devidasa at Nurpur or Basholi. This is an exciting discovery given the paucity of securely dated Basholi paintings. The collection of Eva and Konrad Seitz contains important examples from the different phases of Pahari painting, and is especially rich in Guler and Kangra paintings from the second half of the 18th century. This second and last selection from their collection (the first having been offered in London in autumn 2016) offers another opportunity to see an outstanding private collection of paintings. These two exhibitions will be followed by a book of the complete Eva and Konrad Seitz Pahari collection, written by the eminent authority on Indian painting J.P. Losty.
