Amalienborg ligger i Frederiksstaden, der regnes for den fornemste bydel i København. Frederiksstaden blev anlagt i midten af 1700-tallet som en fejring af det oldenborgske kongehus’ 300 års jubilæum. Bydelen er stramt opbygget over to vinkelrette gader, Amaliegade og Frederiksgade, med Amalienborg Slot og Frederikskirken som de dominerende bygningsanlæg i tværaksen. AQUA Akvarium & Dyrepark Der er tale om Nordeuropas største ferskvandsakvarium, der med en høj grad af pædagogisk Silkeborg formidling fortæller om fiske- og dyrelivet i de danske ferske vande.
