Dracula versus the Frankenstein Monster: The King of Vampires has clashed with the Frankenstein Monster on more than one occasion, in more than one medium, movies, comics, etc. At other times, the Vampire King has attempted to control the monster for his purposes – anything from using him as a simple henchman, to exploiting his secret of rejuvenated life. The Monster is traditionally more powerful, although is a lumbering brute. In most cinematic treatments, the Monster is also a dull- witted creature. Dracula, on the other hand, is an educated member of royalty, battle-skilled and tested over centuries of unlife. As a vampire, he is also immune to most forms of damage, and can transform to other forms, such as bats, rats, or wolves (or sometimes giant human-hybrids of any of the above), or even amorphous, mist. Verdict: Dracula’s intelligence and battle-skills usually put him in control of any situation involving the Frankenstein Monster – except, of course, if the Monster finally loses its temper. Dracula’s vampiric durability gives him a potential edge, but this is very quickly evaporated should the Monster utilize some sort of anti- vampire weapon – even something as simple as a wooden stick. The Monster also regenerates damage – something Dracula can’t do unless he drinks living blood.
