A species list, identification key, short diagnoses and illustrations of all taxa are given. Brief information on known ecological preferences of species is given. Key words: identification, distribution, key, United Kingdom, Ireland, fauna, ecology. INTRODUCTION Anthicidae are a cosmopolitan family of small to medium-sized, fast-moving beetles of the superfamily Tenebrionoidea. Anthicidae are represented in the World fauna by approximately 100 genera, and about 3500 species (Chandler, 2010). Only a few species are known from the fossil record. The last revision of the British Anthicidae was published by F. D. Buck (1954) in the well-known series Handbooks for the Identification of British Insects. Since then, there have been numerous nomenclatural changes within Anthicidae, and some additional species (introduced) have been recorded from the UK, making Buck’s key out of date. During 2004 and 2005 a total of 3356 specimens of Anthicidae from the UK and Ireland were examined by the author, mainly from the collections of The Natural History Museum (London), Oxford University Museum of Natural History and National Museum of Ireland. Additional data for more than 2100 specimens were received from other British museums and private collections between 2005 and 2007. A new key and short diagnoses for the genera are presented, as well as data on habitats and general distribution of species. -

Diana Gallagher Master’s Project for the M.S. in Entomology An Annotated Bibliography of Archaeoentomology April 2020 Introduction For my Master’s Degree Project, I have undertaken to compile an annotated bibliography of a selection of the current literature on archaeoentomology. While not exhaustive by any means, it is designed to cover the main topics of interest to entomologists and archaeologists working in this odd, dark corner at the intersection of these two disciplines. I have found many obscure works but some publications are not available without a trip to the Royal Society’s library in London or the expenditure of far more funds than I can justify. Still, the goal is to provide in one place, a list, as comprehensive as possible, of the scholarly literature available to a researcher in this area. The main categories are broad but cover the most important subareas of the discipline. Full books are far out-numbered by book chapters and journal articles, although Harry Kenward, well represented here, will be publishing a book in June of 2020 on archaeoentomology. -

September 1997 Specimens representing 19 orders and 169 arthropod families (mostly insects) were collected from greenleaf manzanita brushfields in northeastern California and identified to species whenever possible. More than500 taxa below the family level wereinventoried, and each listing includes relative frequency of encounter, life stages collected, and dominant role in the greenleaf manzanita community. Specific host relationships are included for some predators and parasitoids. Herbivores, predators, and parasitoids comprised the majority (80 percent) of identified insects and related taxa. Box 346, Stoneville, MS 38776 2Mississippi State University, Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology Clay Lyle Building, Mississippi State, MS 39762 ABSTRACT Throughout 1994-2000, adult beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua (Hübner) populations were monitored in the delta and hill regions of Mississippi using pheromone traps. Signifi- cant differences in the mean number of moths trapped were found among different geo- graphical areas of the state. A trend was observed where the greatest number of moths was found in the Mississippi Delta, located in the western region of the state. The lowest number of moths was found in the hills located in the eastern region of the state. An annual profile of beet armyworm populations in the western section of the Mississippi Delta also revealed that wide-scale immigration of this pest typically begins at 200 Julian days (mid-July). This date could be used as a benchmark to determine when and if population levels are high enough to have the potential to cause economic damage to crops in the Mississippi Delta. Beetles of eight species: Anthicus antherinus L., A. ater Panz., A. bimaculatus Ill., A. flavipes Panz., A. sellatus Panz., Cordicomus gracilis Panz., Omonadus formicarius Goeze and Notoxus monoceros L. have been found during our research in the Curonian Spit. Cordicomus gracilis Panz and Omonadus formicarius Goeze are very rare in Lithuania; only single specimens of this species were found on the shore of the Curonian Lagoon during our research. Key words: Anthicidae, Curonian Spit, Lithuania Introduction The most important information on the fauna of Coleoptera of the Curonian Spit was summarized in monographs on Lithuanian beetles (Pileckis, 1976; Pileckis & Monsevi čius, 1995, 1997). Since the appearance of these publications a lot of time has passed, and new data on the Coleoptera of Curonian Spit were published by some other authors (Ferenca 2003, 2004, 2006; Ferenca & Tamutis, 2009; Ferenca et al . 2002, 2006, 2007; Ivinskis et al . 2003, 2009; Ivinskis & Rimšait ė 2005; Šablevi čius 2003, 2004; Tamutis & Ferenca 2006; Tamutis et. al ., 2008) during the period of 2002–2009. Ant- like flowerbeetles (Coleoptera: Anthicidae) are phytosaprophagous, their larvae develop in decayed vegetation (Pileckis &. Monsevi čius, 1997). According to the published data, the fauna of Lithuanian ant-like flowerbeetles comprises a total of 12 species (Pileckis & Monsevi čus, 1997; Barševskis, 2001; Tamutis, 2003). -

However, urban green spaces, including green roofs, can also provide important pools of biodiversity and contribute to regional gamma diversity, while novel species assemblages can enhance some ecosystem services. -
