MID-DEL BOARD OF EDUCATION, BOARD ROOM 7217 S.E. 15TH MIDWEST CITY, OK 73110 Following is a list of the business to be conducted by the Board of Education at the above mentioned meeting. The Board of Education may discuss, make motions and vote upon all matters appearing on this Agenda. Such votes may be to adopt, reject, table, reaffirm, rescind, or take no action on any Agenda matter. I. Opening Exercises A. Call to Order and roll-call recording of members present and absent B. Consent Agenda: All of the following items, which concern reports and items of a routine nature normally approved at a board meeting, will be approved by one vote unless any board member desires to have a separate vote on any or all of these items. The consent agenda consists of the discussion, consideration, and approval of the following items: A. Approval of the Agenda B. Vote to approve Minutes of the December 14, 2015, Regular Board meeting. C. Vote to approve the following items: 1. Monthly Financial a. Carl Albert High School OKMEA All State Band to perform at the Oklahoma Music Educators Convention in Tulsa, OK, on January 20-23, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Sanctioned Organization Funds. 2. Midwest City High School Orchestra to participate in preparing and presenting music from the 6A OSSAA Prescribed Music List at contest for January 11, 2016 a panel of adjudicators in Dallas, TX, on April 8-10, 2016. Expenses to be paid by School Activity Funds, Project Code 863-Orchestra. 3. Carl Albert High School OKMEA All State Orchestra to perform at the Oklahoma Music Educators Convention in Tulsa, OK, on January 20-23, 2016. Expenses to be paid by School Activity Funds, Project Code 863- Orchestra. 4. Mid-Del Technology Center SkillsUSA to compete in National Competition in Louisville, KY, on June 20-25, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Activity Accounts-Project Code 985-ACD, Project Code 962- SkillsUSA, Project Code 845-Vending Account, Project Code 826- General Activity, General Fund 12 Projects, 441-ACD and 032-MDTC Coop, personal funds and donations. 5. Gary Rose, Tim LaValley, Tex Rollins, Josh Terry, Brandon Johnson, Shane Farley, Luke Mosher, Cameron Couch, Tony Borum, and Daniel Maddox, Carl Albert High School, to attend the Dallas Red River Nike Coach of the Year Clinic in Thackerville, OK, on February 4-6, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Athletic Camps, Project Code 911. 6. Donna Collier, Parkview, and Lynay Jones, Steed, to attend the 2016 High Reliability Schools Summit in Denver, CO, on July 6-9, 2016. Expenses to be paid by FY16 and FY17 Title I, Project Code 511. 7. Mary Styers and Justin Mann, Monroney Middle School, to attend the Ignite 16 NASSP Conference in Orlando, FL, on February 24-27, 2016. Expenses to be paid by ACE Remediation, Project Code 362. 8. Josh Terry and Daniel Maddox, Carl Albert High School, to attend the DFW Coaches Clinic in Grapevine, TX, on January 29-31, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Athletic Camps, Project Code 911 and personal funds. 9. Alicia Price, Del City Elementary, to attend the 2016 National Title I Conference in Houston, TX, on January 27-30, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Title I, Project Code 511. 10. Del City High School Band to compete at a National Competition in Dallas, TX, on April 1-3, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Sanctioned Organization Funds, personal funds and donations. 11. Carl Albert High School Orchestra to compete in an Orchestra National Music Contest in Dallas, TX, on April 8-10, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Orchestra, Project Code 863, personal funds and donations. 12. Midwest City High School Special Olympic Team to participate in State Special Olympic Summer Games in Stillwater, OK, on May 11-13, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Special Olympics, Project Code 833. 13. Midwest City High School boys’ basketball team to compete in an Invitational basketball tournament in Jenks, OK, on January 21-23, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Sanctioned Organization Funds. 14. Midwest City High School baseball team to compete in a baseball tournament in Owasso, OK, on March 10-12, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Sanctioned Organization Funds. 15. Annessa Parker, Midwest City High School volleyball coach, and Tracy Roberts-Hoover, Jarman Middle School volleyball coach, to attend the 2016 Kansas City Volleyball Clinic in Kansas City, MO, on January 22- 2 January 11, 2016 24, 2016. Expenses to be paid by Athletics, Project Code 865, personal funds and donations. 16. Midwest City High School boys’ basketball team competed in the Tournament of Champions in Tulsa, OK, on December 27-30, 2015. Expenses to be paid by Sanctioned Organization Funds and hotel rooms were provided by the Tournament. This was Board approved for December 28-30, 2015, on November 9, 2015. They traveled a day early due to inclement weather. Confirmation 17. Del City High School Lady Eagles basketball team competed in the Ardmore Holiday tournament in Ardmore, OK, on December 29-31, 2015. Expenses to be paid by School Activity Funds, Project Code 908, Sanctioned Organization Funds, personal funds and donations. This was Board approved for travel dates of December 28-30, 2015, on November 9, 2015. The dates were changed due to inclement weather. Confirmation 18. Carl Albert High School boys’ basketball competed in the Ardmore Holiday Classic basketball tournament in Ardmore, OK, on December 29- 31, 2015. Expenses are to be paid by School Activity Funds, Project Code 909-Boys’ Basketball and Sanctioned Organization Funds-Tip in Club. This trip was Board approved for travel dates of December 28-30, 2015, on November 9, 2015. The dates were changed due to inclement weather. Confirmation 19. Midwest City High School girls’ basketball team competed in the Sapulpa Basketball Tournament on December 29-31, 2015, in Sapulpa, OK. Expenses to be paid by School Activity Funds, Project Code 865-Athletics and Sanctioned Organization Funds. This trip was Board approved for travel dates of December 28-30, 2015, on October 12, 2015. The dates were changed due to inclement weather. Confirmation 20. Midwest City High School DECA to compete at the 2016 DECA State Career Development Conference in Tulsa, OK, on February 9-10, 2016. Expenses to be paid by School Activity Funds, Project Code 942-DECA, personal funds and donations. E. Vote to approve the Health Careers’ Job Shadowing Agreement between Mid- Del Technology Center and Walgreens. F. Vote to approve the Health Careers’ Job Shadowing Agreement between Mid- Del Technology Center and Mercy Health Oklahoma Communities. III. Recognitions A. School Board Recognition Month – Dr. Cobb B. Congratulations to Rick Cobb and Malinda Dennison for winning Educational Blog Awards. Dr. Cobb won 1st place in Best Administrator Blog and 2nd place in Best Individual Blog. Mrs. Dennison, Carl Albert High School, won Best New Blog. – Mrs. Boyer IV. Information A. Public Participation B. Superintendent’s Report – Dr. Cobb 3 January 11, 2016 C. Technology Center Report-Construction Update – Mr. Allen V. Vote to approve or not approve a Resolution authorizing the sale of the school district’s $2,465,000 General Obligation Building Bonds, Series 2016B, and setting forth the following items: – Mr. Zack Robinson A. Fixing the amount of bonds to mature each year B. Fixing the time and place the bonds are to be sold C. Authorizing the clerk to give notice of said sale as required by law VI. Consider bids and select a paying agent/registrar for the District’s $2,465,000 General Obligation Building Bonds, Series 2016B. – Mr. Zack Robinson VII. Vote to approve or not approve a one-time stipend for the 2015-16 Teacher of the Year (4) finalists in the amount of $500.00 per finalist and a one-time stipend for the District Teacher of the Year in the amount of $1,000.00. – Dr. Cobb VIII. Vote to approve or not approve ACE Remediation Plan. – Mrs. Dunn IX. Vote to approve or not approve the High School Curriculum Course Offerings as listed: – Mrs. Dunn Mid-Del High School Academic Planning Guide X. Maintenance A. Vote to approve or not approve change orders and bids/requests to purchase for the Maintenance and Construction Department: – Mr. Conceicao 1. Recommend Board approval of Curbing Solutions for the purchase and installation of two (2) steel awnings at Kerr Middle School for a total amount of $32,400.00 (Bid Proposal #1606). Proposal includes all necessary labor and materials for complete installation. Expenditure to be paid from Bond Fund 33, Project Code 099. XI. Human Resources A. Vote to approve or not approve all actions recommended in the Human Resources Report: – Mr. Mendenhall 1. Certified 2. Non-Certified 3. Child Nutrition 4. Transportation XII. Proposed Executive Session for the purpose of: A. Annual evaluation of Superintendent of Schools with no resulting vote intended, pursuant to Title 25, §307(B)(1) of the Oklahoma Statutes. B. Discussion to revise or amend contract for Dr. Richard Cobb, Superintendent of Mid-Del Schools, pursuant to Title 25, Section 307 (B)(1); and 1. Vote to convene in Executive Session 2.
