ELIGIBLE TO PLAY: All badminton players, who are eligible to play for BWF Member Associations. TOURNAMENT SYSTEM: K.O. System SHUTTLES: Yonex AS 50 COURTS: 5, Yonex ENTRIES: All entries must be confirmed by the National Association and must be done in order of strength. CLOSING DATE: 6TH SEPTEMBER 2011 ENTRY FEE: Singles – 35€ per player, Doubles – 30€ per player/event The Member Association that enters a player into a Circuit tournament is responsible for paying the entry fees for that player. The entry fees become due if a player is entered and has not been withdrawn by the Member Association by midnight local time on the closing date. It is recommended that the entry fees are paid by bank transfer, but the organisers can accept cash payment at tournaments. The entry fees will not be refunded in the case of a withdrawal. If the entry fee is not paid in time the player will not be allowed to start the match. If a player/pair is listed on a “Waiting List”, no entry fee is to be paid before being promoted to the Main Draw or Qualification draw. Before such a promotion takes place, the organisers must have this promotion confirmed by the association/associations of the respective player/pair. Only when this confirmation has been given, the player/pair is considered as an entry. Organisers are allowed to refuse entries if players have outstanding fees from a previous year. All entries must be confirmed by the National Association. The organiser must acknowledge all entries. DRAW: The draw will be carried out by Badminton Europe. REFEREE: Jas Bedi (Scotland), e-mail: [email protected] TRANSPORT: Transportation will be provided from Brno Airport, Main Railway Station Brno and Bus Station “U Grandu” . Please check the tournament web for other details. ACCOMMODATION: Must be ordered not later than 6th September 2011. The Member Association that enters a player into a tournament is responsible for paying accommodation fees for that player in case of withdrawn. The accommodation fees become due if a player is entered and has not been withdrawn by the Member Association by midnight local time on the closing date. The accommodation fees in case of withdrawn: 15 – 8 days before arrival 50 %, 7 – 2 days before arrival 75 %, 1 day before arrival 100 %. The prize money will be awarded only to those players who attend the closing ceremony. PAYMENTS: All payments (accommodation, entry fees etc.) must be paid at accreditation desk cash. No credit cards will be accepted. INSURANCE: Insurance shall be arranged individually by each player. During the tournament a doctor will be present in the hall. Journalist and Media Info All journalists who want to visit tournament must ask in advance for accreditation till 20.9.2011, e-mail: [email protected]. BETTING: There will be betting on offer from this event. Betting is however not allowed to be made by players or officials connected to the event either in person or through a third party. Participants may therefore not make bets on the Event or procure through third parties the making of bets with a betting agency. Participants who, in violation of this prohibition, nevertheless make or procure through third parties the making of bets with betting agencies shall be immediately disqualified from participation in the Event and are liable for legal prosecution. Similarly manipulation of games will be met with disqualification and possible legal prosecution. Any violation mentioned above is also a breach of Player's Code of Conduct (Art. 5.2.) and will be sanctioned by BWF. FURTHER INFORMATION: Yonex Czech International Championships will be played in accordance with the Laws of Badminton, the BWF Competition Regulations and the Instructions for the Badminton Europe Circuit 2011/2012. In case of a dispute the referee shall have a decisive word. Each participant must be ready to play at the specific time. If not present, his match will be scratched. Therefore, the competitors should not leave the venue during the tournament unless allowed by the referee. Players shall not plan their departure less than two (2) hours after their last match is planned to conclude. If a player is unable to compete due to early departure, he/she may be penalised by removal of ranking points and return of awarded prizes. BADMINTON EUROPE shall propose to BWF that the gained BWF ranking points are also removed. (Regulation 9.5 in Badminton Europe’s Circuit Instructions)” Advertising on clothing and colour of clothing shall be regulated by BWF Competition Regulations 19 to 23. The name on the back of the shirt is mandatory for all matches in the main draw. A player failing to wear the name on the back of his/her shirt when mandatory shall be penalised by an administrative fine of 100,00 EUR. It is mandatory for the semi- finals and finals that partners in doubles wear the same colour. Failing to do so shall result in an administrative fine of 100,00 EUR. Any withdrawal after the Sunday immediately preceding the draw, for any reason whatsoever, renders the Member Association concerned liable to an amount of 150,00 US$ for the inconvenience caused by the withdrawal (as defined in BWF General Competition Regulations). After entering a player(s) in the tournament it is the Member Association's responsibility to secure visas for their players - if this is needed. Member Associations must make sure that visa applications are made early enough. The tournaments organisers will have to do everything possible to enable the entered players to get a visa. .

    Scottish Disability Sport - The First Fifty Years Richard Brickley MBE Foreword I was delighted to be asked by Chief Executive Gavin Macleod to record the first fifty years of Scottish Disability Sport, to mark the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Association. Initially the project was intended to be small but the more I researched, the more it brought back memories of great athletes, superb volunteers and great times. I became determined to try and do justice to as many as those great people as possible. I am certain I shall have forgotten key people in the eyes of others and if so I apologise profusely. For almost four decades SDS has been for me a way of life. The volunteers I have had the pleasure of working with for almost three decades are those I remember with great fondness, particularly during the early years. I applaud the many athletes who contributed to the rich history and success of SDS over fifty years. Outstanding volunteers like Bob Mitchell, Mary Urquhart, David Thomson, Jean Stone, Chris Cohen and Colin Rains helped to develop and sustain my passion for disability sport. I have been privileged to work with exceptional professionals like Ken Hutchison, Derek Casey, Liz Dendy, Paul Bush, Bob Price, Louise Martin, Sheila Dobie, Fiona Reid, Eddie McConnell, Gavin MacLeod, Mary Alison, Heather Lowden, Lawrie Randak, Tracey McCillen, Archie Cameron and many others whose commitment to inclusive sport has been obvious and long lasting.
