From: Warner, Christopher (Assembly – Policy & Leg Cttee Service) Sent: 21 August 2014 21:15 Subject: Delegate information for UK, Irish and Islands Clerks' Seminar, 11 to 12 September 2014, Cardiff Bay Annwyl bawb, We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Cardiff Bay in September. Please find attached the near-final agenda and delegate list. I would be very grateful if you could, by Friday 5 September: check the agenda and delegate list and let me know of any additions or corrections (agenda details to be confirmed are highlighted); inform me of your delegates' dietary requirements and whether you intend to stay for lunch (and a tour of the Senedd) on Friday, or whether you would like to take a packed lunch away with you; and supply any Powerpoint slides etc in advance so we can make the necessary technological preparations. You can find more information about how to get to us on this webpage: http://www.assemblywales.org/visiting/senedd/sen-access-how- to-get-to-us.htm Our Cardiff Bay estate comprises three buildings: The Senedd, overlooking Cardiff Bay, which houses our debating chamber and committee rooms. The Seminar will mainly take place in the Senedd Cwrt, a secure area below the public spaces. Please use the Senedd main entrance (on the waterfront) on arrival. You will be taken through security (this will then happen again each time you re-enter the Senedd). Assembly staff (uniformed ushers as well as clerks) will be on hand to escort you to reception to collect a visitor pass and to show you to the Seminar room. Our cloakroom behind the security barriers will accommodate larger items (eg suitcases), but there will also be secure rooms in the Cwrt, near the Seminar room, to store coats and bags. Adjoining rooms will provide basic office facilities, and the Cwrt also provides access to toilets, an outside smoking area and the Members' Tea Room where will we take our refreshment breaks. Public WiFi is available throughout the estate. Ty Hywel (behind and connected to the Senedd), which houses our offices. We can make the additional facilities here available if necessary. The Pierhead (next to the Senedd), the Grade I listed former headquarters of the Bute Dock Company, which is now a visitor centre and events space. We will have lunch here on the Thursday. We will dine on the Thursday in ffresh, a restaurant overlooking the Senedd, within the iconic Wales Millennium Centre (home to the Welsh National Opera, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and other arts organisations). Coincidentally, another constitutionally significant event is being held at the Centre from 6pm on the same day: an "evening of poetry and music reflecting on the changing shape of Britain", which may be an interesting way to spend your free time before dinner. Please do get in touch at any time if you have any comments or queries beyond what I have requested above.
