THE COUNCIL OF THE OF (VARIOUS ROADS, REDWAYS, FOOTPATHS AND BRIDLEWAYS, MILTON KEYNES – THE 2021 MK MARATHON WEEKEND EVENT) (TEMPORARY CLOSURES AND RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes intends to make an order under Sections 14(4) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose of facilitating the holding of a relevant events, namely the Milton Keynes Marathon and Half Marathon, the Rocket 5k, Fun Run and Turing 10k running events which is being promoted by Mr Andy Hully, Race Director, MK Marathon Weekend. It is anticipated that the following temporary closures will be in effect on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th June 2021. The effect of the proposed order will be as follows: - 1) The following lengths of road and redway will be closed between the hours of 18:00 and 21:30 on Friday 25th June 2021 to accommodate the Turing 10k running event:

18:00-21:00 Old Groveway its entire length

18:30-21:00 Marlborough Street (V8) between Simpson Roundabout and Mount Farm roundabout Newington Gate, Ashland at its junction with Marlborough Street (V8) Redway AS01 between Shelsley Avenue, Ashland and Saxon Street (V7)

2) The following lengths of road and redway will be closed between the hours of 05:00 and 17:00 on Saturday 26th June 2021 to accommodate the Rocket 5k, MK Half Marathon and Fun Run running events:

05:00-09:30 Avebury Boulevard, CMK (westbound carriageway only) between Bank Field roundabout and Secklow Gate

05:00-17:00 Saxon Street (V7) between Ashland roundabout and Denbigh roundabout Dawson Road, Mount Farm at its junction with Saxon Street (V7)

06:45-08:30 Secklow Gate, CMK (southbound carriageway only) between Avebury Boulevard and South Secklow roundabout

07:00-08:30 Childs Way (H6) (both carriageways) between South Secklow roundabout and Springfield roundabout Childs Way (H6) (westbound carriageway only) between South Secklow roundabout and South Saxon roundabout Pentewan Gate, Fishermead at its junction with Gurnards Avenue

07:00-11:00 Chaffron Way (H7) between its junction with Harrier Drive and Eaglestone roundabout Saxon Street (V7) (southbound carriageway only) between South Saxon roundabout and its junction with Chadwick Drive, Eaglestone Chadwick Drive, Eaglestone at its junction with Saxon Street (V7) Redways DN02, WA02 and WA03 between Stadium Way and Ashlands underpass

09:30-13:30 Marlborough Street (V8) between Simpson roundabout and Mount Farm roundabout Newington Gate, Ashland at its junction with Marlborough Street (V8) Redways AS02 and MF01 between Ashland and Dawson Road, Mount Farm

09:00-14:00 Clark Road, Mount Farm between Dawson Road and the redway crossing Dawson Road, Mount Farm between its junction with Saxon Street (V7) and the redway crossing

3) The following lengths of road and redway will be closed between the hours of 05:00 and 16:00 on Sunday 27th June 2021 to accommodate the MK Marathon running event:

05:00-16:00 Saxon Street (V7) between Ashland roundabout and Denbigh roundabout Dawson Road, Mount Farm between its junction with Saxon Street (V7) and the redway crossing Clark Road, Mount Farm between Dawson Road and the redway crossing Marlborough Street (V8) between Simpson roundabout and Mount Farm roundabout

06:30-14:00 Old Groveway – its entire length

07:30-15:00 Redway AS01 between Shelsley Avenue, Ashland and Saxon Street (V7)

The above road and redway closures will only be closed when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Diversion routes will be provided and signed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the traffic signs Manual. The road closures and diversion routes can be viewed at https://one.network. Whilst the above closures are in effect traffic will be prohibited from making the following right turn maneuvers: • No right turn from Fulwoods Drive, Leadenhall onto Saxon Street (V7) • No right turn from Lloyds, Coffee Hall onto Saxon Street (V7) As each event will be rolling closures the temporary restrictions will only apply whilst the competitors pass along the above stated roads. All roads will reopen once the final runner has passed through and it is safe to do so. There shall be no other exemptions from the provisions of the Order other than for emergency services vehicles, military vehicles on operational duties and those vehicles required in connection with the event. The made Order will come into operation on Friday 25th June 2021 at 00:01am and will continue in force for a maximum period of 3 days or until the completion of the events whichever shall be the sooner. Copies of the proposed Order, together with plans showing the areas affected and a statement of reason, may be inspected on the Council’s website at: www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/consultations.
