And, we upheld our Strategic Plan by continuing to attract permanent unrestricted endowment, increasing the Foundation’s visibility in the community, serving our alumni, and encouraging Northeast Ohioans to donate. Thanks to a partnership between the Shaker Schools Foundation and the Shaker Heights City School District, the planetarium was upgraded with a new star machine and all the technology to run it. Many thanks to the generous funders of this project: Huntington National Bank, the Arminius Foundation, Annual Fund donors to the Shaker Schools Foundation, and A Night for the Red & White. On October 10, 2013, the Foundation hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception for donors, complete with space ice cream and Tang! • Representatives from Hennes Paynter presented a communications workshop to the Board of Trustees in early February 2014. • On March 25, 2014, the Foundation hosted a second percussion concert organized by Shaker graduate, Luke Rinderknecht, and featuring Shaker students and two other professional musicians. Proceeds from the evening added $1,950 to the Charlotte Braverman Music Enrichment Fund. • Projects supported by the Class of 1950/January 51 continue to be implemented.
