Leiston Suffolk IP16 4AJ Tel: - 07507 164095 E-mail: - [email protected] Web: - www.andybuysbikes.com Justin Faithfull of Faithfull Classics is now supplying a range of mainly pre – war (W.W.2.) veteran, vintage & classic reproduction & copy motor cycle literature. Including sales catalogues, spares lists, advertising brochures, hand books, manuals, technical information & much more. Our copies are taken from original literature whenever possible, which is scanned into a computer for cleaning up as necessary. They are then printed to emulate the originals in colour & layout as closely as is reasonably possible. Since many originals were printed on odd or obsolete paper sizes, many have been resized & often enlarged to fit onto modern paper sizes. Some literature that was originally in poster or fold out leaflet style has been has now been reproduced in book or booklet form. • Covid Newsletter 11
The Cotswold Section Final Newsletter Covid19 Issue 11 Lockdown week 12 Riding this 1929 Sunbeam Model 80 has helped me through the Covid 19 Lockdown Editor: Reg Eyre KOBI www.vmcc-cotswold.org or [email protected] The purpose of these mailings was to occupy the thoughts of members of the motorcycling fraternity during the current crisis when non-essential riding might have been deemed to be unlawful. It is hoped that the articles, which were technical, thought provoking, humorous, accompanied by images, etc, were about our hobby of motorcycling. The editor would like to thank all friends that have contributed and read these Newsletters. From the B190 The lock down is ending and so is this publication. I hope you have been challenged, amused, entertained, informed, or just plain occupied for a few moments during this spell with these missives. I hope to see you all somewhere at gatherings of old motorcycles, wherever they take place. The final challenge comes courtesy of Lois, my wife, who devised this picture quiz for one of our Signpost Rally’s. Following the quiz are the final round-ups. Reg Eyre KOBI 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 And Finally! Some people have found the reasons for spending so much time in the workshop: First – Paul from New Zealand with his BSA Round Tank, “I’ve finally tracked down the cause and solution. The cause was an old one - Incompetent Maintenance. When I reassembled the timing gears I mixed up my dots and dashes such that, although the inlet timing was right, the exhaust timing was six teeth out on a 44tooth gearwheel.

  • Covid Newsletter 10
The Cotswold Section Newsletter Covid19 Issue 10 Lockdown week 11 What has this got to do with Covid 19, life, the universe and everything? Read what Steve Sumner is getting up to Editor: Reg Eyre KOBI www.vmcc-cotswold.org or [email protected] The purpose of this mailing is to occupy the thoughts of members of the motorcycling fraternity during the current crisis when non-essential riding might be deemed to be unlawful. Articles may be technical, thought provoking, humorous, accompanied by images, etc, but definitely about our hobby of motorcycling. Please feel free to share the contents with any other interested riders and send appropriate material to me at the above email address. Thanks! From the B190 Nobody has contacted me about the Word search I gave you last issue, so I have put in another, in this issue, from Alan Yeoman, for you to try. We have some hints and tips for activities for you to try, including model making, painting, electrics and a book review and recommendation. Uncle Alf has been reading a book about Negative Gravity featuring Beatrice Shilling. Has anybody got a copy that I can read? Alf says its awfully good! Reg Eyre KOBI Front Cover Mystery Photograph Inspired by a thread on the VMCC forum I have spent some of the “everything is cancelled” time to build this. The base is made from fibreboard and houses an old gramophone motor. The rest is built using lolly sticks from the granddaughter’s craft box, (they don`t know yet). Annealing the broken end of the spring and drilling a new spindle location hole fixed the motor.

  • Vintage Motorcycle Club Newsletter Kickstart 2016 11
A monthly publication of The Vintage Motorcycle Club Johannesburg, South Africa. Volume 31. No 11. November 2016 CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE: Motorcycling is a pastime full of variation. Since the inception of a motorised two wheeler, anyone wanting to be part of a world in which you aren’t cossetted in a cocoon of steel and glass opted for the open road on a motorcycle. This gave rise to various interesting characters that frequent the annals of motorcycle history. From the Tourer, to the Sportster, Stunt rider and more recently the Adventure rider (read Martin Davis) our brothers and sisters take to the roads, tracks and countryside on all forms of two or three wheeled moped. Our own society and movement has a very specific bond with motorcycling and the older, the better. However as we age, we need to inject newer blood into our movement to keep it going. This predicament isn’t unique to VMC as all hobbies and pastimes are struggling to keep their “induction ports” above water these days. It is essential to bring younger enthusiasts to our gatherings, both to introduce new blood and get the generation who inherited their parent’s motorcycles to bring them into the fold. Your ideas on how we can do this will be most welcome; also getting together from a social perspective and riding more as a club can make our movement more visible. In this regard, the committee will plan regular club rides, over and above the main Regularity and Commemorative events, while encouraging all members to get out there and “exercise the steeds”.
