Tottenham to River Thames Wonders

Route Summary: A circular route exploring wildlife and heritage of this spectacular Nature Reserve. The route heads north through Horseshoe Thicket to Coppermill Fields, returning south along the Lee Valley Pathway and Marsh.

Distance: 2 miles

Terrain: Surfaced pathways including small sections of grass pathways, walk-around gates and cattle grid.

Starting Point: Lee Valley Ice Centre car park Road, Leyton, London, E10 7QL

 From the car park head north to the left of the Lee Valley Ice Centre passing through the double gates and a wildlife and heritage information panel.  Continue north along the path, on your left is the and on your right, Leyton Marsh.  Proceed over the cattle grid, entering Walthamstow Marshes.  Continue north passing under the railway bridge, the A.V. Roe Arches are located on the right and continue along the pathway.  Where Horseshoe Bridge crosses the river on your left, turn right in between the ditches and proceed through the picnic area, bearing to the left through Horseshoe Thicket, passing the pond and continuing along the woodchip pathway.  Turn left and proceed over the small wooden bridge, continuing to the next junction.  Turn right through the gates, and right again along the tarmac road, alongside Coppermill Stream on your left.  Proceed under a low bridge and turn right in to Coppermill Fields car park.  Proceed through the walk-around and follow the Lee Valley Pathway south through Coppermill Fields.  Follow the pathway under the railway bridges and continue south, past the Lammas Meadow on your right  Continue south to Leyton Marsh, passing the Lee Valley Riding Centre on the left.  Shortly after a road on the left, turn right over a bridge and continue along the grass pathway, turning left to re-join the pathway back to the starting point.
