LEEDS CITY COUNCIL ON YER BIKE 2021 (CRACKIT PRODUCTIONS) ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 16A FRIDAY 25 JUNE 2021 (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC AND USE) ORDER 2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that City Council as traffic authority for the Leeds Metropolitan District, has today made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as inserted by Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994, prohibiting and restricting the use of certain roads and road junctions by vehicles; pedestrians and non-event cyclists to facilitate the holding of ‘On Yer Bike Event (Crackit Productions) on Friday 25 June 2021.

The event will require the closure of the lengths of road set out below to vehicles; pedestrians and non-event cyclists or horse riders.

The Order shall come into effect on Friday 25 June 2021 between 06:00 hours and 18:00 hours approximately (as necessary during the course of the event). The roads to be closed and all other provisions of the Order are set out in the Schedules to the Order. Where necessary, local diversions will be in operation, signed as appropriate.

Each closure will only be in place for as long as required to allow the event to take place and will be controlled by the police by way of rolling closures. It is anticipated that the closures as whole will only be required for an approximate period of 30 minutes, within the overall 06:00 hours and 18:00 hours Order period.

SCHEDULE

1. A658 Main Street Pool; - From North boundary (Pool Bridge) to Arthington Lane (Pool Roundabout)

2. A659 Arthington Lane / Road - From Main Street Pool junction (Pool Roundabout) to A61 Road junction

3. Rawden Hill - From junction with Arthington Lane to High Weardley Lane

4. High Weardley Lane From Rawden Hill to Lane -

5. Eccup Lane From junction with High Weardley Lane to entrance to Burden Head Farm

The restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used in connection with the said event (including those used for stewarding, crowd management, cleansing and traffic management purposes), or to anything undertaken on the direction of or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any other official so authorised in the control and operation of the event, or in accordance with any sign placed by Police. Emergency access will be maintained for the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance purposes and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic.

Any vehicle deemed to be causing a nuisance and/or obstruction on the roads or road junctions specified in the Schedules to the Order shall be authorised by the Council to be removed by an approved contractor under its statutory duties and powers in order to facilitate the holding of the event.
