August 24, 1992 6-1 The Peopling of 19th century Mexico: Critical scrutiny of a censured century* Published in: Statistical Abstract of Latin America, vol. 30 (1993): 603-633 Robert McCaa, [email protected] During the past five centuries, the Mexican people have undergone three enormous demographic transformations--holocaust in the sixteenth century, recuperation in the 17th and 18th, and transition, indeed demographic revolution in the twentieth. The nineteenth century, usually censured as embarrassingly stagnant, seemingly stands alone as a century of slow growth with few significant demographic developments.i Yet, while Mexico's caudillos and constitutionalists fought to rule the nation or defend against foreign attack, the peopling of Mexico advanced at a lively pace in the 19th century and, unlike other more rapidly growing countries in the Americas, grew solely by means of native stocks. Over four generations, from 1790, when the last colony-wide census was taken, to 1910, on the eve of a decade of violent revolution, the total population of Mexico increased more than three-fold, from 5 to more than 15 million inhabitants. Neither decades of political strife nor foreign invasions sufficed to stifle the vast demographic energy of nineteenth century Mexico. INFORMACIÓN CLIMÁTICA CLIMA Las temperaturas promedio en la parroquia Santa Teresita van de 9° a 20° C PRECIPITACIONES Las precipitaciones promedio que se dan en la parroquia Santa Teresita van en un rango de 1250 a 1750, siendo los barrios de El Sango, Tundurama, las zonas con precipitaciones de 1250 a 1500, mientras que los barrios de Collangora, Potrerillo, Cangochara, Ventanilla, El Lumal y Santa Teresita CAMBIO CLIMÁTICO Entendido el cambio climático, como los cambios que se producen en el clima mundial, regional y por lo tanto local, derivados de los efectos que resultan de los procesos de contaminación atmosférica, desertificación y deforestación, es indudable que la parroquia Santa Teresita estará influenciada por los futuros cambios derivados de las tendencias climáticas que se registren en el corto, mediano y largo plazo.     Ejido jido ha sido llamada con justicia por Tulio Febres Cordero “La ciudad de la miel y de las flores”. Este título tan dulce, se debe a sus Etradicionales panelas con las que se preparan los dulces caseros de higo, leche y guayaba, así como la rica miel y las flores provenientes de sus campos. Desde la época colonial, en Ejido se procesa la caña en los trapiches, para producir las panelas que sirven para endulzar los platos de la cocina típica del Estado Mérida. Hacia el sur oeste de la Ciudad de Mérida, siguiendo la carretera Transandina, después de recorrer unos doce Kilómetros, nos encontramos con la ciudad, situada a 1170 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Está situada sobre una meseta de suave pendiente, de origen aluvial, en la margen derecha del río Chama. Posee una temperatura media de 210 C. La población tiene por límites la quebrada Montalbán por el lado este, la quebrada La Portuguesa, por el lado oeste, el río Chama hacia el sur y hacia el norte colinda con las aldeas de El Manzano y El Salado. En sus alrededores abundan los cultivos de caña de azúcar, que se prolongan desde las fértiles vegas del Chama, hasta la parte montañosa, hacia el norte, en donde la caña, el plátano, las guayabas, los cafetos y otros cultivos trepan por las laderas, hasta alcanzar las aldeas de El Manzano y El Salado. Ejido tiene una población de 57.573 habitantes. La ciudad está dividida en tres parroquias: Parroquia Matriz, hacia el oeste, Parroquia Montalbán hacia el este y la Parroquia Fernández Peña, hacia el sur de la ciudad.

    IGLESIA CATÓLICA DE LA ANUNCIACIÓN DEL SEÑOR PLAN PASTORAL DE LA PARROQUÍA 2017-2022 PARA PARTICPAR O APOYAR CON UN PARTE DEL PLAN: LLAMA 256-353-2667 O MANDE CORREO ELÉCTRONICO [email protected] PLAN PASTORAL DE LA ANUNCIACIÓN DEL SEÑOR UNA PALABRA DEL PASTOR Queridos hermanos y hermanas, Había mucha anticipación y emoción en el proceso de desarrollar un plan pastoral para renovar nuestros ministerios y poner Annunciation of the Lord Parish (incluye St. Ann Catholic School) en camino de crecimiento y vitalidad. Quiero reconocer el papel crucial de los feligreses, padres, facultad escolar y parroquial en el proceso de planeamiento exitoso, y en el compromiso continuado es muy esencial por nuestro futuro, me da mucha felicidad presentarles con nuestro Plan Pastoral de la Parroquia lo cual les guiará en nuestros esfuerzos en los próximos 5+ años. Este proceso de planeamiento empezó con contribución sincera y considerada de varios cientos personas por entrevistas, encuestas, y sesiones de escuchar. Además, recibimos varias ideas fieles y excelentes de nuestros Planning Teams (más que 50 personas), y Parish Convocation lo cual tenía más que 100 feligreses en junio. Todo eso, no se hubiera exitoso sin el liderato y coordinación de nuestro Steering Committee. Nosotros somos humildes y agradecidos por las contribuciones abundantes de sabiduría, pasión, fe, y oraciones. El proceso entero de las encuestas de la Convocation nos ayudaron identificar 9 metas para renovar nuestra parroquia y escuela. Proponemos estrategias nuevas y valientes para lograr estas metas por los próximos cinco años. Incluimos varias estrategias las cuales se han creadas para énfasis y promesa para mejorar continuamente nuestros esfuerzos.

"¿Qué se espera de América Latina en el Sínodo 19871" Yo diría séncillamente estas tres cosas: que muestre al mundo el rostro de una Iglesia viva, joven, que va creciendo en su fe y la va compro­ metiendo en la transformación evangélica de sus pueblos, particularmente a través de la presencia y la actividad evangelizadora de los laicos. - que, a propósito del Sínodo de 1987, se impulse a toda la comunidad eclesial a una relectura de todo el Concilio (particularmente de los grandes Docu­ mentos que interesan al laicado: Lumen Gentium, Gaudium et Spes, Apostolicam Actuositatem, Dei Verbum, Ad Gentes), y se la comprometa a ahon­ dar en la naturaleza, vocación y misión del laico en el hoy de América Latina; que la Iglesia en América Latina siga dando razón de su esperanza; que no se canse de gritar al mun­ do, desde la pasión gloriosa de sus pueblos, la fe­ cundidad de su cruz pascual; que siga siendo un testimonio vivo de comunión eclesial en todos sus niveles; que sea cada vez más fiel a Jesucristo, a su misión salvífica, al hombre y a los pueblos del Continente.
