INVITATION On behalf of the Minister of Infrastructure and Spatial Planning of the Land Brandenburg, Kathrin Schneider, we warmly invite you to our event: Future of cross-border rail transport in Europe The Example of Berlin-Uckermark-Szczecin on Monday, 1 April 2019 from 10.30 to 14.00 at the Representation of the Land Brandenburg to the EU in Brussels. Cross-border railway links are an essential goal of European integration. How regions can support this aim while strengthening their own development will be demonstrated by the example of the railway link Berlin-Uckermark-Szczecin. The creation of a double-tracked and electrified line near the German-Polish border will close a gap and bring about a connection between four TEN-T core network corridors. We will also have a look at Rail Baltica to see what we can learn from this important project of cooperation in the rail sector. A simultaneous interpretation into English, Polish and German will be provided. We look forward to welcoming you and ask you to register via email until 21 march 2019 under: [email protected] Best regards The team of the Representation of the Land Brandenburg to the EU Programme 10:00 to Check-in and welcome coffee break 10:30 10:30 to Address of welcome 11:00 Kathrin Schneider, Minister of Infrastructure and Spatial Planning of the Land Brandenburg Introduction to the European framework Herald Ruijters, Director DG MOVE Page 2 11:00 to Berlin-Szczecin: Efficient and future-proof 12:00 The North Sea – Baltic Corridor – experiences with cross border projects and possible new corridor elements Vera Kissler, DG MOVE Technical implementation of the Berlin-Szczecin extension / Cross-border rail transport cooperation Ralf Armbruster Head of Large-scale Projects DB Netz AG Discussion Forum I “Berlin-Szczecin: A stable project within a strong partnership” Kathrin Schneider, BMVI representative, Herald Ruijters, Representative of Polish Ministry and of Voivodeship Zachodniopomorskiego 12:00 to Lunch break 13:00 13:00 to Rail Baltica: Bridging the missing link in the North Sea – Baltic Corridor 13:20 Kaspars Briškens, Head of Business Development RB Rail AS 13:20 to Discussion Forum II 13:50 “From core network to corridor: Contribution of the Berlin-Szczecin link to optimising the linkage between four core network corridors” Kathrin Schneider, Michael Cramer (MdEP), further participant 13:50 to Conclusion and farewell address 14:00 Kathrin Schneider How to get there Representation of the Land Brandenburg to the EU Rue Joseph II 108 (corner Avenue Livingstone) B-1000 Brussels +32 2 7377 451 https://goo.gl/maps/iQoSPhLwNc12 Metro station: Maalbeek/Maelbeek or Schuman (Line 1 or 5) From the airport: Airport-Shuttle Line 12 until Rond-point Schuman or train (SNCB) until station Schuman Further information By registering your interest, you are consenting to being photographed / filmed during the event for PR, and to such images being stored and published on the websites www.brandenburg.de and www.mil.brandenburg.de, on social media and in publications.
