"The Big Shrink" / "Roller Coaster Murder Case" January 8, May 24, 01 01 "Jet Coaster Satsujin Jiken" (ジェットコースター 1996 2004[21] 殺人事件)

A man is murdered during a party and the detective Jimmy Kudo is called to solve the case. He reveals that the host is the murderer and solves the case. Jimmy and his friend, Rachel Moore then take a trip to an amusement park. While they are there a man is decapitated during a roller coaster ride. Jimmy reveals the murderer to be the man's ex-girlfriend, Haley. He shows that Haley used her necklace made of piano wire and a hook in her purse, looped the wire around the victim's neck and hooked the wire onto the roller coaster tracks during the ride. Haley explains that the victim broke up with her and she had planned a murder suicide. After solving this case Jimmy follows two suspicious men in black from the roller coaster case and watches them make a clandestine deal. Jimmy is attacked from behind by the two men and forced to take a newly developed poison that should kill him.

"The Kidnapped Debutante" / "Company January May 25, 02 02 President's Daughter Kidnapping Case" 15, 1996 2004[21] "Shachō Reijō Yūkai Jiken" (社長令嬢誘拐事件)

Jimmy wakes up and finds that he is now in the body of a young child as a result of the poison. After proving his identity to Professor Agasa and explaining the conditions under which he was poised he decides that he must remain undercover so that the men in black will not find him and try to kill Jimmy and his friends. Jimmy takes on the name "Conan Edogawa" and is placed in the care of Rachel and her father, Richard Moore who owns a detective agency and will allow him to gather information on the men in black clothes. That night, Richard receives a case to find a man's kidnapped daughter, Michelle. Conan drops subtle hints for Richard leading him to conclude that Mr Aso, the butler, "kidnapped" Michelle. Richard receives a phone call stating that Michelle has been kidnapped again. Conan follows the clues from the phone call and locates her again. Once the kidnapper is arrested, Michelle reveals that she asked Aso to fake her kidnapping in an effort to draw her father away from work so that he would spend time with her. The father asks Aso to arrange a vacation for Michelle and himself. Richard, happy with his success in solving a difficult case, allows Conan to stay with his family.

"Beware of Idols" / "An Idol's Locked Room Murder Case" January May 26, 03 03 "Idol Misshitsu Satsujin Jiken" (アイドル密室殺 22, 1996 2004[21] 人事件)

Three days later, the Professor Agasa gives Conan the "voice-changing bow-tie" and tells him that Rachel has been worried about Jimmy. After Conan's first day at school his classmates Amy Yeager, Mitch Tennison, and George Kaminski plan to follow Conan home to befriend him. Singer Yoko Okino goes to Richard's agency asking him to investigate a suspected stalking. When they arrived at Yoko's apartment, they find a dead man stabbed in the back with a knife. The man is Yoko's high school boyfriend so Yoko becomes one of the three suspects. The other two suspects are Yoko's manager and one of Yoko's rivals. Conan investigates and determines how the crime was committed. After knocking Richard unconscious with an ashtray, Jimmy impersonates Richard's voice with the bow-tie and tells everyone at the scene of crime that the man killed himself. The man made a block of ice with a knife inside it and laid on top of it until the knife was in his back. Later in the week, knowing that Rachel has been stressed since Jimmy's disappearance, Conan gives Rachel a call and with his bow-tie using Jimmy Kudo's voice. He tells Rachel that he is on a difficult case and will return when it is solved.

"Fish Marks the Spot" / "The Coded Map of the City Case" January May 27, 04 04 "Dai Tokai Angō Map Jiken" (大都会暗号マップ事 29, 1996 2004[21] 件)

After visiting an exhibit on hidden treasures Conan and his friends find a piece of paper with symbols and the word "Oro" written on it. A treasure hunt ensues but does not discover much. Conan, initially not interested in the children's treasure hunt finally realizes that the paper is a treasure map after learning that "Oro" means gold in Italian. That night, Conan determines that the symbols refer to neon light signs on buildings. Following the clues they find gold coins hanging from the ceiling of an abandoned building. Three men have been following the kids. With Conan's quick thinking, they capture the men. The three men are Mafia members and the gold was hidden from them by a traitorous accomplice. Later, Amy gives Conan a kiss on the cheek, thanking him for saving them while Mitch and George stare jealously.

05 05 "The Time Bomb Express" / "The February May 31, Shinkansen's Bomb Case" 5, 1996 2004 "Shinkansen Dai Bakuha Jiken" (新幹線大爆破事件)

Conan runs into the black-clothed men from the pilot episode while riding the Shinkansen bullet train. He investigates further and realizes they only resemble the original two men. Using his gadget glasses and a bug, Conan overhears their conversation about a bomb in a black suitcase on board the train and is set to explode soon. Conan narrows the suspects down to four. Conan realizes a woman on the cellphone mentioned she liked viewing the mountains but her seat was facing the sea. He realizes the men's seats were facing the mountains and deduces that she was the one who met them. Conan, armed with his new power kicking shoes invented by Agasa, manages to kick the briefcase off the train before it explodes. The woman and the two men are later arrested.

"Tragic Valentine" / "Valentine Murder Case" February June 1, 06 06 "Barentain Satsujin Jiken" (バレンタイン殺人事 12, 1996 2004[22] 件)

Rachel is invited to attend a Valentine's party by a young man and a jealous Conan follows her. During the party, Keenan the party host, is poisoned and dies. Conan investigates and discovers that Keenan was poisoned from the coffee served. Conan uses his newly acquired tranquilizer dart wristwatch to knock out Richard and then uses his voice changing bowtie to impersonates Richard. Through Richard, Conan reveals that Keenan's adopted mother murdered him for the insurance money. She put poison in the coffee served to everyone. The cake everyone except Keenan ate was the antidote to the poison. The adopted mother reveals she needed the money in order to save the family house after her husband's business failed. Later, Rachel holding a box of chocolate for Jimmy, decides to eat it with Conan.

"The Case of the Mysterious Gifts" / "Once-A-Month Present Threat Case" February June 2, 07 07 "Tsukichi Purezento Kyōhaku Jiken" (月ちプレゼ 19, 1996 2004[22] ント脅迫事件)

Once a month for the past two years surgeon John Woodman has been receiving anonymous toys and money valued over 25 million yen. He asks for Richard's help to determine who is sending the gifts. On Conan's suggestion, they review John's patient history. During the investigation Rachel begins to suspect that Conan is actually Jimmy. When Conan plays a video game John received, Conan discovers that it belonged to a child named Tommy Oswald who died during one of John's operations three years previously. Conan deduces that John's son, Joseph Woodman, may be in danger. They find Mr. Oswald, Tommy's father, and Joseph at the park just in time to prevent the son's murder. John decides not place any charges and comforts Mr Oswald regarding his son's death. Conan manages to deceive Rachel that evening about his true identity; by having Agasa call her as if he were Jimmy.

"The Art Museum Murder Case" / "Art Museum Owner Murder Case" February June 3, 08 08 "Bijutsukan Ōnā Satsujin Jiken" (美術館オーナー 26, 1996 2004[22] 殺人事件)

Rachel forces Conan and Richard to visit a museum where she heard reports of a medieval suit of armour moving on its own. They find an unguarded restricted area at the museum. Inside they find Mr Minaka, the museum owner, dead and pinned to the wall with a sword. They examine the security camera and find out Minaka was killed by the suit of armor. A piece of paper is discovered that appears to reveal Koboda as the murderer. Conan realizes that Minaka's pen was retracted at the time of death and that Kaboda is being framed. Conan drops hints allowing Richard to determine that Mr O'Donnell, the museum's director, is the murderer. O'Donnel confesses he did this to protect the museum from becoming a casino and attempted to frame Kaboda since he was secretly selling museum art pieces. The museum remains open as the public protested against its destruction.

"Festival Fiasco" / "Tenkaichi Night Festival Murder Case" March 4, June 7, 09 09 "Tenkaichi Yomatsuri Satsujin Jiken" (天下一夜 1996 2004[22] 祭殺人事件)

Conan, Rachel, and Richard attend a Festival when Salvadore Everson, a famous writer, is murdered. Conan is certain Nicodemus Stanley, Salvadore's partner, is the murderer. Nicodemus has a perfect alibi substantiated with photographs. Conan re-examines the photo and with supporting clues is able to prove that Nicodemus is the murderer. Through Richard, Conan explains that the pictures were taken at the festival the previous year using the same camera. Nicodemus saved the camera until the day of the murder. As proof he points out that some of the pictures show an untanned line on Nicodemus' wrist. Nicodemus discloses that he murdered Salvadore out of vengeance, as his first published work was stolen by Salvadore.

"Deadly Game" / "Pro Soccer Player Blackmail Case" March 11, June 8, 10 10 "Puro Sakkā Senshu Kyōhaku Jiken" (プロサッ 1996 2004[22] カー選手脅迫事件)

A girl named Reina shows up at the Richard's office asking for Jimmy Kudo, her boyfriend. Conan tells her that Jimmy will contact her later. Rachel and Conan decide to go to Reina's apartment and wait for Jimmy. Conan discovers that Mathias, a star soccer player Harrison Akagi's little brother, has been kidnapped. The kidnapper demands that Harrison lose a game or he will never see Mathias again. Using a clue from Mathias' video game, they locate him at the house of Harrison's friend and rival, Nicholas. Nicholas reveals he did it as revenge against Harrison who broke Nicholas' leg during practice, sabotaging his chance to become a star soccer player. Nicolas regrets his actions when Harrison announces on television that he wished Nicholas was there because they could have scored more goals together.

"The Moonlight Sonata Murder Case (Part 1)" / "Moonlight Sonata Murder April 8, June 9, 11 11 Case"1 hr. 1996 2004[22] "Piano Sonata "Gekkō" Satsujin Jiken" (ピアノソナタ「月光」殺人事件)

Richard receives a letter with a large sum of money from Kasper Austin requesting that he investigate Moon Light island. On the island, they discover that Kasper was a famous pianist and has been dead for twelve years. They believe the client wanted them to investigate Kasper and so they decide to question the Mayor. They learn that Kasper's piano is in the community hall and that the previous mayor was discovered dead with the song Moonlight Sonata playing in the background. Moonlight Sonata was the same song Kasper played on his piano during the fire that killed him. During the funeral for the previous mayor, Moonlight Sonata is heard from the piano room and they find another man murdered there. Conan interprets the letter as indicating that the murders are just starting. Conan and the others spend the night near the piano along with Dr. Nadia Adams. The police interrogate everyone the next day who where at the funeral but another man is murdered.

"The Moonlight Sonata Murder Case (Part 2)" / "Moonlight Sonata Murder April 8, June 10, 11 12 Case"1 hr. 1996 2004[22] "Piano Sonata "Gekkō" Satsujin Jiken" (ピアノソナタ「月光」殺人事件)

Music notes left by the killer reveal that he is avenging Kasper Austin. From further investigation of Kasper's music sheet Conan realizes the killer is Dr. Nadia Adams. Conan, through Richard, reveals that she has been creating alibis by reporting the wrong times of death. Conan also deduces that Dr. Adams is Kasper's son, Simon Austin. He disguised himself as a woman to get revenge on those who murdered his family. Simon escapes to the community hall where his father's piano is and sets the building on fire. Conan tries to convince him to escape from the building by showing him Kasper's dying message. Simon, grateful for Conan's attempt, throws him out the window. Simon then plays Moonlight Sonata as the building burns down around him, just like his father. "Kidnapped: Amy" / "Ayumi-chan April 15, June 14, 12 13 Kidnapping Case" 1996 2004[22] "Ayumi-chan Yūkai Jiken" (歩美ちゃん誘拐事件)

While playing hide-and-seek in the park, Amy Yeager hides herself in the trunk of a car and falls asleep. When she wakes, the car has left the park. Amy finds the head of a girl wrapped in newspaper in the trunk with her. Conan uses a new radio transmitter received from Professor Agasa to gather clues as to where the car is heading. Riding Conan's new solar powered skateboard, they are able to catch up with Amy. They confront the men and Conan kicks a bicycle helmet, knocking out one of the men. The Junior Detective League realize that the men are actors and the decapitated girl was a prop. Since the actor was knocked out and the prop damaged the Junior Detective League were forced to participate in the play.

"Mystery Mastermind" / "The Strange Person Hunt Murder Case" April 22, June 15, 13 14 "Kimyō na Hito Sagashi Satsujin Jiken" (奇妙な 1996 2004[22] 人捜し殺人事件)

A woman named Michelle Hamlet shows up at Richard's Detective Agency and asks him to find Kent Hamlet, her father. Rearranging Kent's cat's name, they realize it's the name of a racing horse. They find him at a horse track but the next day, Kent is found dead and Michelle missing. Conan remembers that he accidentally placed a tracker on Michelle but the batteries in his glasses run out. Another detective is discovered who is tracking Michelle down for his client Aaron Hamlet. After Conan's glasses are recharged, they head to Michelle's location and find Aaron dead. Conan realizes that the Hamlets are connected to a billion yen robbery and that a disguised Michelle passed them in the hall. Conan follows her and finds her with her boss, O'Brian. O'Brian plans to remove all evidence of his involvement and prepares to shoot her but is knocked out by Conan. Michelle confesses that she left the money at the hotel and thanks Conan for his help.

"The Shooter" / "The Mysterious Shooting Message Case" April 29, June 16, 14 15 "Nazo no Messēji Sogeki Jiken" (謎のメッセージ 1996 2004[22] 狙撃事件)

The Junior Detective League watch as a sniper shoots a balloon by the river. Later Conan sees the sniper held at gunpoint by other men. When the Junior Detective League gets there, the gunmen have left, but Conan finds the numbers 3540405162 on a calculator the sniper left behind. They call the police and find out the sniper, Charles Mulligan, and his wife, Erin Mulligan, were recently reported missing. The message is broken when Conan turns the calculator upside down to discover the actual code. The code reveals that Charles is going to shoot someone on the Shoho train on the 29th at 1:00pm. Conan and the police manage to track the sniper down and rescue him and his wife. The men holding Charles hostage were part of the Tiger Dragons gang and wanted to assassinate the prosecutor, for arresting their leader.

"The Two Faced Brother" / "Missing Corpse Murder Case" May 13, June 17, 15 16 "Kieta Shitai Satsujin Jiken" (消えた死体殺人事 1996 2004[22] 件)

While searching for a missing cat, the Junior Detective League find it covered in blood. Backtracking it they find a corpse in a house. They call the police and investigate the house but the corpse is now gone. Hamilton Timberman, the inhabitant of the house, claims there was no dead body. As Hamilton Timberman goes to his bedroom his brother, Hadrian Timberman, returns home. Conan returns that night to discover that Hamilton Timberman was the corpse. Conan realizes that Hadrian, disguised himself as his brother in order to convince the police that Hamilton was alive. Conan gets Hadrian's confession on the phone and gives it to the police and Hadrin is arrested.

"A Loan Repaid" / "The Antique Collector Murder Case" May 20, June 21, 16 17 "Kottōhin Korekutā Satsujin Jiken" (骨董品コレ 1996 2004[22] クター殺人事件)

Damian Maru, an antique collector, asks Richard to investigate his wife's affair. Maru is later found pinned to a wall with a katana. The crime scene has been shredded with a sword and clues point to different people who had scheduled meetings with the collector. Conan notices that scratches on the dresser drawers do not match up; so he photographs the drawer and re-arranges them. He discovers the murderer and through Richard, Conan reveals that the drawers spell out the name of the murderer when arranged in their original positions. It spells Suuwa in Kanji revealing Jacky as the murderer. Jacky confesses to the crime and explains that Maur sold a family heirloom sword that Jacky had put up as collateral on a loan.

"The Case of the Hi-Jacked Department Store" / "Hijacked Department Store May 27, June 22, 17 18 Case" 1996 2004[22] "Depāto Jatsuku Jiken" (デパートジャツク事件)

The Junior Detective League are accidentally locked inside a department store after hours. They were returning to retrieve George's autograph Yaiba, a fictional super hero. They decide to visit the security room to ask to be released. They find robbers have tied up the two security guards and an elevator girl. The robbers spot the Junior Detective League hunted them down. Finally, the League apprehends the robbers. Conan goes to free the guards but on the way discovers that the elevator girl freed herself. He discloses that she is an accomplice and apprehends her. Later, Conan and his friends receive awards for capturing the robbers and do not have to pay for the food they ate and the objects they broke during their stay.

"Wedding Day Blues" / "A June Bride Murder Case" June 3, June 23, 18 19 "Rokugatsu no Hanayome Satsujin Jiken" (6 月 1996 2004[22] の花嫁殺人事件)

Catherine Mclaughlin, Rachel and Jimmy's old homeroom teacher, is getting married but is poisoned before the wedding even starts. Several suspects are caught on video, including Catherine's father, Kiyonaga McLaughlin and Tony, the groom. Fingerprint analysis show that some prints are missing from the can. Conan, through Serena Sebastian, identifies Tony as the culprit. Tony discloses that Kiyonaga indirectly caused of his mother's death. Catherine's friend reveals that Catherine was aware of this past but chose to marry him anyway, because he was her childhood love. A message from the hospital announces Catherine's surgery to be a success and Tony cries with happiness. Tony is sent to prison where he marries Catherine three years later.

"Fashion Sense" / "An Elevator Murder June 10, June 24, 19 20 Case" 1996 2004[22] "Erebētā Satsujin Jiken" (エレベーター殺人事件)

Rachel is invited to model for a fashion design company. One of the company's employees, Megan, is killed in the elevator. Conan is certain that the company's owner, Ms Hallorin is the one who killed her. But he is unable to prove it as Megan's body was found in the elevator on the 8th floor and Ms Hallorin was on the 15th floor. Through Richard, Conan reveals that Ms Hallorin called Megan to the 15th floor and killed her, then placed Megan's body in the elevator with her back leaning on the door and then sent it to the 8th floor. Ms Hallorin confesses that she murdered Megan in vengeance for stealing her clothing designs and selling them to her rivals.

"The Disappearing Act" / "A Haunted Mansion Murder Case" June 17, June 28, 20 21 "Yūreiyashiki Satsujin Jiken" (幽霊屋敷殺人事 1996 2004[22] 件)

Amy is walking home when she sees lights on in an old abandon house where an unsolved murder occurred several years ago. She convinces the Junior Detective League to sneak in and explore the house. George and Mitch suddenly disappear. Conan and Amy follow an old woman down a hidden stairs and find a caged man. Conan's postulates that the man is the son of the murdered man and is being held against his will by his mother. She refuses to let him confess to the police. Conan manages to persuade the mother that her son, Abraham, wants to confess for his crime rather than live with the guilt. Abraham turns himself in the next day along with his mother. George and Mitch are found sleeping outside. Later, the Junior Detective League decides to investigate another haunted house which actually belongs to Conan.

"Lights, Camera... Murder" / "On Location, TV Drama Murder Case" June 24, June 29, 21 22 "TV Dorama Roke Satsujin Jiken" (TV ドラマロ 1996 2004[22] ケ殺人事件)

Yoko Okino is starring in a television drama and invites Richard, Rachel, and Conan to watch the filming. The camera man, Mario, is murdered and his dying message in kanji spells "Shrinegod". Conan observes that some of the words are dry while others are wet. The dry strokes spell "Ringo", the name of one of the actors. Ringo confesses that he changed the message, but only to avoid suspicion for murdering Mario. Conan further realizes that the name was altered before Ringo changed it. The real name is under Ringo's. Through Richard, Conan reveals that the real message left behind is "Tina". He claims that when Tina killed Mario, she did not notice the dying message. When her husband, Jerumia, spotted the message while searching for her and changed it to frame Ringo. Tina confesses that she murdered Mario because he blackmailed her. She had indirectly caused the robbery of her grandfather's shrine and the Shrine's supervisor committed suicide.

"Smooth Sailing (Part 1)" / "Luxury Liner Serial Murder Case (Part 1)" July 1, June 30, 22 23 "Gōka Kyakusen Renzoku Satsujin Jiken 1996 2004[22] (Zenpen)" (豪華客船連続殺人事件(前編))

Richard, Rachel, and Conan miss the boat home after a vacation and accept a ride with the rich Hannigan family on their private ship. Joseph, the head of the Hannigan family, is murdered and the evidence points to Theodore Zimmers who has vengeance as a motive. Theodore's father committed suicide when his company was taken over by the Hannigan family. Theodore is locked in a cabin as he is suspected of the murder. Everyone in the family is interested in the Hannigan inheritance. They are shocked to find out that the will gives the inheritance to Susanna, Joseph's granddaughter. Another Hannigan family member, Shannon, is found dead and Theodore is missing from the storage room.

Conan finds Joseph's crime scene strange and believes Theodore is being framed. The boat suddenly loses power and Lucus, Joseph's grandson, is stabbed in the dark. Everyone is suspicious of each other and accusations are made. Searching the rooms for Theodore, Conan finds the evidence to prove Theodore's innocence. Conan, through Richard proves Lucus is the murderer. He was in love with Susanna, and she was engaged to Theodore. Lucus confesses that Joseph rejected his proposal for marriage with Susanna and humiliated him. When Lucus learned about Theodore's past he murdered Joseph and framed Theodore. Theodore tells Susanna he planned to avenge his father but fell in love with her instead.

"Better Off Forgotten" / "The Mysterious Woman with Amnesia Case" July 15, July 5, 24 25 "Nazo no Bijo Kioku Sōshitsu Jiken" (謎の美女記 1996 2004[23] 憶喪失事件)

Richard reads the newspaper and discovers that Yancy, a criminal he convicted, has escaped from prison. A woman leaving the horse track stumbles and falls into Richard, Rachel, and Conan. At the hospital, the woman named Mia is diagnosed with amnesia. Conan suspects that a bearded man is trying to kill Mia. He also thinks that Mia is acting strange. Mia regains her memories and recalls that she has a duty to kill Richard. Conan realizes that the bearded man is Yancy, who is trying to kill Richard. Yancy hired Mia to kill Richard. Mia leads Richard to an abandoned warehouse and she attempts to strangle him with a wire but Conan manages to stop her. Mia and Yancy are arrested by the police.

"The Counterfeit Ransom Kidnapping" / "The False Kidnapping and Hostage July 22, July 6, 25 26 Case" 1996 2004[24] "Itsuwari no Mino Shiro Kin Yūkai Jiken" (偽りの身代金誘拐事件)

Mr. McMullin's daughter, Nikki, is held hostage by a kidnapper demanding 500 million yen. The first meeting fails when the kidnapper finds out McMullin called the police and he escapes. During the escape, the van drives off a cliff and into the river. Conan overhears a conversation between McMullin and his assistant Elizabeth. He discovers that McMullin is hesitant to pay the ransom for his daughter. McMullin decides to use counterfeit money to deceive the kidnapper. When he goes to meet the kidnapper with Elizabeth, Elizabeth discloses that she is the kidnapper. Elizabeth shares that when McMullin sent her father's company into bankruptcy, her father murdered her mother and brother before killing himself. Conan, who was hidding in the trunk of the car, persuades Elizabeth to spare McMullin or she will cause Nikki to suffer the way she has. Nikki is released and Elizabeth is arrested.

"Jack Attacks!" / "Pet Dog John Murder July 29, July 7, 26 27A Case" 1996 2004[24] "Aiken Jon Satsujin Jiken" (愛犬ジョン殺人事件)

Conan is coming back from a restaurant with Rachel and Richard when they hear a man scream. They enter the house and find Ted has fallen off the stairs and died. He was pushed by a dog named Jack. Conan suspects Charles Peterson, Jack's owner, trained him to murder the man. Ted caused Charles' son, Micheal, to kill himself several years ago. Conan gives Richard subtle hints allowing him to solve the crime. Richard concludes that the dog was trained to attack when he hears nine chimes from a Longcase clock and Charles' voice. Charles confesses that he had forgiven Ted for Micheal's death at the funeral. But several years later Ted had forgotten Micheal, so Charles devised a plan to murder Ted. Jack is spared and placed with one of Charles' relatives.

Richard, Rachel, and Conan are out for a walk when a robbery occurs. Conan and Richard apprehend the robber. A crowd gathers to watch and Richard sees his old friend Jamie in the crowd. They talk about the Judo class reunion that is to take place later that day and she leaves. The police arrive to take the robber away and ask for the gun. Conan and Richard realize the gun that the robber dropped is missing. At the reunion that evening the Judo club plan to go out and watch the fireworks. Richard, Rachel, and Conan are the only ones who attend the fireworks. At dinner, the Judo club members decide to wake Jamie up from her nap. When they enter her room, she is holding the robber's gun and has a gunshot wound to her head. Richard sees no burn marks on Jamie's wound and realizes meaning that it was a murder and a member of the Judo is the suspect.

Conan realizes who the murderer is and plans to tranquilize Richard in order to solve the case. Conan instead decides to drop subtle hints and let Richard solve the case. Richard solves the case, identifying that Jamie died later than originally estimated, exercise from table tennis caused her body to undergo rigor mortis much earlier. He identifies Craig as the murderer. Craig confesses that he has dated Jamie for eighteen years and he proposed to her multiple time but she always turned him down. When he became engaged to another woman, Jamie terrorized them both. He confesses that he picked up the gun from the robbery earlier. He saw it as a sign to murder Jamie. Conan finds it strange that Osgood was sweating a lot in his death, and that flowers delivered the day before died. Conan notices that Ken, Osgood's driver, is the only one with a motive. While talking with Ken, he reveals he planned to start his own software company but became ruined due to Osgood. Conan realizes that the heart attack was caused by thermal shock in a short period of time noting the dead flowers and solidfied chocolates. Using the bowtie, he uses his voice as Jimmy Kudo and calls Inspector Joseph Meguire and Richard to Ken's house where Conan drops subtle hints to reveal Ken as the murderer. Using the evidence that Ken took Osgood's cat home with him that day, Ken confesses to murdering Osgood by hacking the computer that regulates the houses temperature and turns himself in.

Richard, Rachel, and Conan are meeting a lawyer named Samuel Taylor who's office is in a hotel. While there Conan picks up a phone call from Samuel's wife Catherine Taylor. During the phone call, an musical melody is heard from Catherine's side. Samuel takes over the phone call and tells his wife he will call later and asks Conan and Rachel to leave so he may talk with Richard. Richard returns telling Conan and Rachel he took Samuel's request to spy on Catherine and her affair. On the way home, they spot police cars in front of a house and decide to investigate. They found out it is the Samuel Taylor's house. Inside they learn that Catherine was found dead in the bathtub. Conan suspects Samuel to be the murderer but Richard confirms his allibi. Conan investigates the hotels and learns the hotel room beside Samuel's is reserved for guests and also learns the musical melody from a musical box alarm clock is custom made for that hotel. At Catherine's funeral, a man named Steve Jacobus reveals he was Catherine's lover. The officers plan to arrest him until Conan tranquilizes Richard. Impersonating Richard's with his voice changing bowtie, Conan reveals Samuel to be the killer. He reveals that after Samuel was done with Richard, he murdered his wife who was in the guest room beside him. Afterwards Samuel placed his wife in a bag and put he down a chute to the bottom floor. He then went to the bottom floor, placed her body in the trunk and drove her home where he then placed her body in the bathtub. As evidence, Conan gives Meguire a tape of the alarm clock in Samuel's guest room to compare with the recorded phone call. The alarm clock in the guest room is revealed to have a missing note and matches with the musical melody in the phone call. Samuel confesses to the murder, and reveals Catherine was blackmailing him for money in order to keep his corrupt deeds as a lawyer hidden.

"Murder at the Television Studio" / "TV Station Murder Case" September July 15, 31 32 "Terebi-kyoku Satsujin Jiken" (テレビ局殺人事 2, 1996 2004[20] 件)

Richard is invited to appear on Primetime Mystery hour at Nichi Uri studios. During a four minute break, the producer Miguel Santos is shot and killed. After the show ends, Miguel Santos is found by a cameramen. Conan suspects that Tate Evans, the Primetime Mystery host and decorated marksman, is the murderer but is unable to prove it as he would have had to run from the ninth floor to the fourth floor and back in four minutes which is impossible no matter how fast they run. Conan investigates and finds out that the storage room in the seventh floor, which took two minutes to walk to, has a window directly above the room where the murder occurred. Conan realizes how the murder was done. He lures Richard to the room and puts him to sleep. With his bow-tie, Conan reveals that Tate called Miguel telling him he would jump off the building. In doing so, Miguel looked outside his window and was shot in the head. Tate confesses to the murder and reveals that it had to be done in order to save the show from being canceled. Afterwards Richard wakes up and suspects Conan is the cause of his sudden drowsiness during a case. Before he could pursue that ideal any further, the appearance of Yoko Okino causes him to forget about it.

"Murder at the Local Diner" / "Coffee Shop Murder Case" September July 19, 32 33 "Kōhī Shoppu Satsujin Jiken" (コーヒーショッ 9, 1996 2004[20] プ殺人事件)

Conan catches Rachel leaving to go on a date with Jimmy Kudo. Conan, knowing it's a lie, follows her to a coffee shop where she admits to be waiting for someone else important. Rachel leaves to buy some cake for Conan who stays at the coffee shop. A woman named Ivonna Marks is found murdered in the bathroom stall and four people are suspects to the crime. The police arrive and assume the criminal crawled above the bathroom stall to leave the scene, cutting down the suspects to two people. Conan notices that there's blood on top of the stall. He realizes how the murder occurred and drops subtle hints. The suspect Eva Kadan picks up on the hints and reveals the murderer is James Tonga. She reveals that James strangled Ivonna then threw her over the stall. He then tied a rope to knife and stabbed her and pulled his knife back. As evidence, Conan notices the bandages around James' fingers have switched hands, showing the bandages were used to strangle Ivonna and were tied to the knife to throw it over. It is revealed that James killed Ivonna in order to keep his affair with her a secret from his wife. Later Rachel is revealed to have been waiting for Eva, her mother.

Professor Agasa takes the Junior Detective League to a field and give them a treasure map. While following the treasure map, they are pursued by two men. The puzzles lead them to an underground cave where they find a bag containing jewelry recently stolen from a store. They are then confronted by the two men who are really jewel thieves. Conan disarms the men by kicking the bags containing their stolen jewelry at them. They continue further into the cave and find the treasure the map was referring to. Inside is a letter telling them their adventure was the treasure and will become a priceless memory in the future. Conan finds his father's signature on the letter and realizes his father, Booker Kudo, created the treasure hunt many years ago.

When they try to leave, they find themselves stranded because the only bridge leading to the main road has been cut. Rachel is attacked by the man who killed Jessica but is saved by Conan, who is injured in the attack. The mysterious bandaged man tries attacks Rachel again in the middle of the night. When Conan figures out the case, he tries to make Rachel the detective, but knocks out Serena instead. Conan reveals through Serena that Felix, the set designer, killed Jessica and made an attempt on Rachel's life. Knowing Felix has expertise in technical production, Conan deducts he faked the kidnapping. Jessica was already dead before the kidnapping. With the problem of the murderer's weight, Conan reveals that Felix stuffed his shirt with the axe murderer's costume and at one point Jessica's head, making him appear heavier than he actually is. Felix confesses and explains that Jessica's award-winning script, The Blue Kingdom, was stolen from Emily, the sixth member of the club. Being crushed, Emily committed suicide the day after Jessica won her award, causing Felix to become enraged. Rachel had seen Felix without his fake belly momentarily when she barged into his room, therefore being a target before realizing what she saw. Felix attempts to slit his own throat but is stopped when Conan, through Serena, scolds him for trying to kill Rachel and surrenders to the club.

After Amy returns home, the dentist, Dr. Carolyn Keeler, discovers the corpse of one Mr. Barnes near her apartment in the condominium where she lives. He was murdered at his door due to a lethal injection at exactly 7:30PM. The police suspect Dr. Keeler because she has a motive, but she also has an alibi. She was with Amy at her office watching the TV show Masked Yaiber at that time. While visiting her apartment, Conan realizes the illusion used and accusses Dr. Keeler as the murderer. She decorated her apartment to look like her waiting room and, using two seditives and her car, convinced Amy she was at the office the entire time when at one point they were in the condominium. At exactly 7:30PM when the crime took place. The evidence is in the deck of cards on the table where Amy placed the Ace of Hearts from the office deck in the condominium deck. When Dr. Keeler sees the two Aces of Hearts in the condominium deck, she confesses and turns herself in.

37 38 "Prickly Past" / "Cactus's Flower November July 27, Murder Case" 11, 1996 2004[20] "Saboten no Hana Satsujin Jiken" (サボテンの花殺人事件)

A woman, Ms. Nora O'Dell, comes to the Richard Moore Detective Agency asking for help looking for a man, Trent Cook. To help Richard, she presents a rough sketch of Trent, a picture of his red sports car and the license plate. The next day, the Junior Detective League is riding the train to the aquarium when Conan sees Ms. O'Dell. Abandoning the league, he follows her to the grave of her old boyfriend, Terry York. She meets an acquaintance, James, at the grave and they converse for a while. When they part ways, Conan reveals himself to the acquaintance. James turns out to be the doctor who rehabilitated Ms. O'Dell after she was injured in the car crash which killed Mr. York. Conan finds out Mr. York had an affinity for growing Christmas cacti and the plants went to the doctor after his death. Though the critical piece of information Conan extracts was that after the accident, Ms. O'Dell rehabilitated after only three months instead of six. This was caused by motivation and adrenaline. Conan concludes Ms. O'Dell asked Richard to find Mr. Cook not to be his girlfriend but to have revenge. Conan and the doctor meet up with Richard and Rachel at Mr. Cook's address only to find Ms. O'Dell about to burn Mr. Cook and his girlfriend alive. Using Mr. York's cacti and a bit of coaxing, Conan calms Ms. O'Dell and she surrenders.

"Flames of Confusion" / "Akaoni Village Fire Festival Murder Case" November July 28, 38 39 "Akaoni Mura Himatsuri Sastujin Jiken" (赤鬼 18, 1996 2004[20] 村火祭殺人事件)

Richard is asked by Mark Newman to trail his friend, Abraham Yancy, for three days to protect him from possible danger. On the night of the second day, Abe is found dead from fourth-degree burns in Akaoni during the annual Fire Festival. Mark Newman gains over five million yen of life insurance money as part of a bet between the two, leading Richard to list him as the main suspect. Since Newman was on a business trip when the murder took place, he has a perfect alibi. With clues from the photos taken by Richard and Newman, Conan is able to determine that Yancy died before Newman's trip and the man who Richard was following was a man disguised as the victim. The body found in Akaoni, however, was the real body. Yancy was killed before the trip and the body was thrown into the fire the day it was discovered. The motive was that the company Newman owned was in debt and the insurance money paid for it all with some left to spare. With the spare money, Newman booked a one-way flight to a tropical island where he would live out the rest of his life. Conan realizes he must stop Newman before he gets on his flight. Using his voice modulator, he convinces Inspector Meguire and Richard to meet at the airport of Newman's flight. There, Conan confronts Newman who admits to murdering Yancy. Conan records the message and threatens to show the police. In desperation, Newman attacks Conan though he is knocked unconscious after Conan kicks a tire into his face. Newman is arrested after the recording is heard by police.

"Billionaire Birthday Blues (Part 1)" / "Wealthy Daughter Murder Case (Part November July 29, 39 40 1)" 25, 1996 2004[20] "Shisanka Reijō Satsujin Jiken (Zenpen)" (資産家令嬢殺人事件(前編))

The daughter of billionaire Robert Gilmore, Reika Gilmore, is having a birthday. She has invited Richard, who brings Rachel and Conan, as a special guest. A couple of partygoers introduce themselves as Reika's suitors. The party goes on throughout the night until people start heading home. The suitors start to head to their cars when they realize they have had their tires slashed. When all the guests have left, the remaining people are Reika, her suitors, Richard and party and the maid, Nonee. Reika suggests a game of cards to pass the time. Quentin Mifune, a suitor, declines and offers to chaffuer Richard home but is stopped by Reika who calls him a coward for not wanting to participate. Reika leaves the group, explaining she wishes to change into sleeping attire. After a few hours, she has not returned. The group splits up and searches for Reika. Conan and Richard stumble upon the corpse of suitor Steve Sloan, a victim of drowning. Reika, having not been found, is blamed. To calm everyone's nerves, Nonee and Rachel volunteer to make tea. The tea is brought and enjoyed. Rachel feels tired and the tea soothes her into sleep. Conan remembers the group was talking about an accident and believes it may have something to do with Steve's murder. The accident involved Reika, the suitors and Sonja, Nonee's granddaughter. Steve and Reika went missing during a storm. Sonja went looking for them. The two returned without Sonja who had drowned. During the night, Rachel is attacked in her slumber and is nearly drowned. This wakes everybody up. She is dazed and it appears her tea was drugged with sleeping pills. One of the suitors make coffee but spills it on Conan and Richard. They go to wash in the bathroom only to find Reika, dead and the victim of drowning.

"Billionaire Birthday Blues (Part 2)" / "Wealthy Daughter Murder Case (Part December August 2, 40 41 2)" 2, 1996 2004[21] "Shisanka Reijō Satsujin Jiken (Kōhen)" (資産家令嬢殺人事件(後編))

Reika is removed from the bathtub where she drowned. Richard examines the body and finds that unlike the murder of Steve and the attack on Rachel, Reika had been tied up with rope and duct tape. What's more, her clothes were soaking wet. Richard analyzes the facts and find that the murder took place around 5 to 6 A.M. This cleared suitors Donald Hiblar and Michael Stewart along with the maid Nonee. At that time, however, suitors Dirk Copeland and Quentin Mifune were not present. Dirk noticed Quentin heading in the direction of the bathroom but Quentin denies entering the bathroom at all. Then by accident, Conan turns on the water and the showerhead comes on. Richard scolds Conan and warns him he will get wet. With that statement, Conan has realized the way Reika was killed. To find the killer, he puts Richard to sleep and proclaims he's solved the case. He asks the suitors to remove their suit jackets. Conan notices where water stains are located on the mens' shirts. Conan deducts that suitor Donald Hiblar is the murderer. First, Donald rejoined Steve in the search for Reika, giving Donald the perfect opportunity to murder him. Next, he made it look like the murderer had cut the power and escaped through the window. He set this up by causing a power surge and breaking the window. Donald's next act was to drug Rachel's tea. While everyone believed Rachel was attacked for a reason, there was none. Donald had chosen a victim at random because all he wanted was a witness to confirm she was drowned the same way Steve was. Finally, there was Reika. While it appeared that all three murder were done the same, each was unique in different ways. Reika was tied up, duct taped and the showerhead was turned on to insure Donald's alibi. The evidence is on his shirt elbows where the water stained when he removed Reika. He confesses and says Sonja was murdered by Steve and Reika and this was merely revenge. Nonee, while devastated at this revelation, disapproves of Donald's actions.

"Left in Tatters" / "Victory Flag Tearing December August 3, 41 42 Case" 9, 1996 2004[21] "Yūshōki Kirisaki Jiken" (優勝旗切り裂き事件)

Richard has taken Rachel, Serena and Conan to a high school baseball game. The reigning champions the Shoreview Bears are playing the Unicorns for a chance to get into the playoffs. Shoreview's star pitcher, Kenyon, is shutting out the Unicorns when he notices something in his direction. The umpire calls a balk and the game resumes. Only this time Kenyon's pitching suffers. The coach changes pitchers and Kenyon runs in the school. The game continues and the Unicorns continue to rack up the runs. Suddenly, the storeroom manager alerts the principal of Shoreview that last year's championship flag has been slashed. The game stops and the crowd files into the school. Richard examines the scene. The flag has cut with short slashes primarily to the left of the flag near the stave. The window has been smashed and a ladder is outside leading to the window. It appears to be a outside job. Still, the principal states that because of the criminal, Shoreview will withdraw its name from the playoffs. The storeroom manager says that the office and storeroom key are gone. Richard realizes the ladder was a plant and this was an inside job. With these clues, he labels the suspects. Kenyon, ex-pitcher Billy Jones, the principal of Shoreview High and Kenyon's mother. Kenyon confesses that he cut the flag. His mother steps in, saying he is just protecting her. He cuts her off and as evidence of his crime, he presents Richard with the Xacto-blade used to commit the crime. Richard calls the case closed but Conan isn't satisfied. After Conan talks to Serena about the school's academic history, he puts the pieces together and solves the case. He lures Richard into the office and puts him to sleep. Using Richard's voice, he calls everyone over the intercom system to the office. Using earlier evidence, the guilty party had to have been short, left handed and was in the building at the time of the crime. Kenyon is right-handed and fairly tall, taking him off the suspect list. Billy and Kenyon's mother both share one aspect of the criminal. Only the principal is left-handed, short and was in the building at the time of the slashing. He confesses and said the chairman of the school wanted the baseball team disbanded because he thought is was getting in the way of studies. The storeroom clerk shows up once again to report the chairman, who was thought to be ill, has passed away, making the principal's actions useless. Six months later, under the management of Kenyon's mother, the Shoreview Bears win the championship flag once again.

"Karaoke Killing" / "Karaoke Box Murder Case" December August 4, 42 43 "Karaoke Bokkusu Satsujin Jiken" (カラオケ 16, 1996 2004[21] ボックス殺人事件)

It's the Christmas season and Rachel, Serena and Conan are shopping. Rahcel is talking to Serena about, among other things, boyfriends. Serena's new boyfriend/accquaintance is popstar Justin Moon of the band Lex. The three meet the band and sing a bit of karaoke. It turns out that Justin is an arrogant, selfish punk. Justin is requested by a unknown person to sing "Bloddy Venus", his signature song. Justin rips his jacket in the beginning of the song like he always does. When the song ends, the caterer Georgie brings in a spread. Justin grabs a riceball and talks about the future of the band. He wants to go solo and he starts another thought when his body seizes up. He collapses on the floor and dies. Upon initial examination, Conan smells cyanide. Conan realizes this death was murder, instigated by one of the band members. Inspector Meguire is called in. Conan meanwhile examines the scene for any hints of motive. Amber, Lex's guitarist, is sighted as a suspect because of her love for Justin. Justin already had a girlfriend who was "away for a while" and called it quits. With no solid evidence though, Meguire can't convict Amber. He returns to the station empty-handed. Conan notices a photograph in the room of another band. In the photograph is Justin; Sledge, the drummer of Lex and two unknown women. Sledge says one of the women is Mazy, the manager of Lex even though she looks nothing like the current Mazy. Using past evidence, Conan has solved the case. Meanwhile, the inspector gets a telephone call to meet him back at the karaoke room. He tells Rachel and Serena who are in the car with him on the drive that Jimmy Kudo has solved the case. Back at the karaoke room, the song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" is playing over the loudspeaker. This song was what drove the murderer over the edge when Justin requested it for her. The murderer is Mazy. The evidence is in Mazy's Lex jacket. It's Justin's lighter. Mazy placed the cyanide on her jacket and switched her band jacket with Justin's. When Justin ripped his jacket of during "Bloody Venus", the cyanide was exposed. His death was hurried when he ate a riceball with his contaminated hand. Mazy confesses and said that Justin hated her after she had plastic surgery even though it was done to impress him. Justin still loved her though. On the back of the photograph is a love song written by Justin dedicated to Mazy. Mazy realizes her mistake and bursts into tears.

"Conan Is Kidnapped" / "Conan Edogawa Kidnapping Case" January 13, August 5, 43 44 "Edogawa Konan Yūkai Jiken" (江戸川コナン 1997 2004[21] 誘拐事件)

A woman shows up claiming to be Conan Edogawa's mother, even though he technically is not supposed to have a mother. Conan is put to sleep and when he awakens, he overhears the woman and a masked man talking about the shrinking drugs and a planned murder. Conan fakes his escape by hiding in a wine cellar and follows them to a hotel where he caught by the masked man. The man and the woman unmask themselves revealing they are Jimmy's real parents who played a trick on him so he would come with them overseas, but Conan refuses.

"Unhappy Birthday" / "Three Hotta Brothers Murder Case" January 20, August 9, 44 45 "Hotta Sankyōdai Satsujin Jiken" (堀田三兄弟 1997 2004[21] 殺人事件)

While Richard, Rachel and Conan are on the way to work on a case, a man by the side of the road asks for car help. In payment, the man invites them to his birthday party. What they didn't expect was for him to die that night from a bomb. After looking at the scene, Conan determines the bomb was homemade from chemicals that only the house caretaker had access to. The caretaker admits he was the murderer, saying that his son was driven to suicide by Hotta.

A woman is murdered and three suspects are brought in; her daughter, a home security worker, and one of her employees. It is revealed the employee was embezzeling money and his boss was going to expose him, so he had a motive, but she was already dead when he arrived at her house. Her daughter was extremely suspicious because of her bad relationship with her mother, and Mouri accuses her because she impersonates her mother to hide the time of death, but Conan determines the culprit was the security worker because the woman was going to sue him. "A Game of Murder" / "Alpine Hut in August the Snowy Mountain Murder Case" February 3, 46 47 11, "Yukiyama Sansō Satsujin Jiken" (雪山山荘殺 1997 2004[21] 人事件)

Rachel, Richard and Conan are skiing in the mountains. They meet up with a doctor and his students. They offer Richard, Rachel, and Conan to stay at their place during the night due to a dangerous snowstorm. Things get ugly when the head doctor is murdered when watching his favorite soap opera. Conan determines the killing was an inside job, and that it was one of the 4 students. Two have air-tight alibis, but the other two are suspects. Conan, through Richard, announces the killer was the doctor's third student, a woman with the same name as a shogi piece. Conan had examined the crime scene and discovered the doctor's dying message of the identity of his killer.

"The Last Dive" / "Sports Club Murder Case" February 10, 47 50 — "Supōtsu Kurabu Satsujin Jiken" (スポーツク 1997 ラブ殺人事件)

There's been an accident - an athletic diver hit his head on the diving board. But Conan isn't so sure it was an accident and so he goes to question the witness, an elderly man. The man shows Conan a sketch of the scene he witnessed, and Conan notices that in the sketch, the diver is wearing earrings, and the victim doesn't have pierced ears. Conan tranquilizes Richard and tells the Inspector that the killer was the man who used to be on the dive team, but was replaced. It is revealed that he was being blackmailed, and so to get revenge and retrieve his spot on the dive team, he drowned his blackmailer.

After Conan makes a phone call to Ran as Shinichi, he returns home and discovers that Heiji Hattori, a high-school Detective from the west side of Japan, is searching for Shinichi to test his skills as a detective. To help Conan with his cold, Heiji offers him an unknown drink which is revealed to be a Chinese Alcohol known as Paikaru. Soon after, a woman named Kimi Tsujimura, wife to the diplomat Isao Tsujimura. She wants Kogoro to investigate her son's girlfriend, Yukiko Katsuragi, believing she is too perfect. Kogoro, accompanied by Ran, Conan, and Heiji, are invited to the Tsujimura mansion and enters Isao's study. Kimi tries to wake up the seemingly sleeping Isao only to discover he is dead. Heiji and Conan discern Isao was killed by a a needle dipped in a powerful neurotoxin and his death was recent. The room however was locked and left Isao and Kimi the only ones with access to the room. Conan and Heiji attempt to deduce the locked room mystery, the reasons the stereo was playing loud opera music, and the stack of books in front of Isao. Conan's cold worsens and causes him to be bedridden in another room, while Heiji discovers how Isao was murdered. Heiji reveals that after Isao was murdered, the culprit placed scotch tape inside the key holder and pierced a string through the victim's pocket, allowing the culprit to leave the room, lock the study, and pull the string causing the keys to slide back into the victim's target; This is evidenced by the string and needle Heiji found in the trash.

Heiji concludes the murderer to be Isao's father since he was in the room where the string and needle was found. However, Shinichi appears and reveals that Heiji's deduction of the murder is incorrect, stating that the key's position inside Isao's pocket would be impossible if he was murdered that way due to the tightness. He also reveals the string and needle were found in many rooms and that they were meant to convict Isao's father. As for the real murder method, Shinichi explains the Opera music and book stack were to cover the victims screams and face in case Isao woke up after being pricked by the poison needle. He then reveals the murderer to be Kimi and exclaims the evidence is in her keyholder which should reveal the groove of a needle. Kimi confesses and explains Isao framed her former husband of corruption resulting in his death and tricked her into marrying him. Isao revealed it all in a fit of rage when he discovered his son was dating Yukiko, daughter of Kimi and her former husband and she then formulated a plan to murder him. As Kimi is taken away by the police, Shinichi escapes to the bathroom and becomes Conan again. Ran finds him in the bathroom and asks him about Shinichi's whereabouts, but collapses soon after. Three days later, Conan plans on drinking Paikaru to become Shinichi again, but Ran hides it upon discovering him drinking alcohol. As Conan is escorted by his friends to the Library, he opts to play with them one last time before returning to normal.

"The Book Without Pages" / "Library March 3, 50 51 Murder Case" — 1997 "Toshokan Satsujin Jiken" (図書館殺人事件)

A librarian is hiding more than just foreign books in the shelves. Conan and the Detective Boys sneak into the library at night after seeing police look for a corpse of a missing librarian. They see the director,Tuttlebore, packing imported books that Conan found wrapped up earlier into a briefcase.Unaware of the children's presence, he boasts to himself of being able to hide the body of the missing librarian in the library without the police finding it. They decide to look for the remaining books that Tuttlebore wasn't able to take with him. After an exhausting search, they realise that there is a middle row of books between the outside two that doesn't have a spine giving the impression of it being the opposite book. In each of these fakes they find packets of narcotics. Realising that the body is on top of the elevator Conan calls it up while manually opening the door. They find the dead body of the missing librarian but inside the elevator there is the director. After narrowly escaping him they set a trap for him which knocks him out.

"Driving a Bomb" / "The Golf Driving Range Murder Case" March 10, 51 52 — "Gorufu Renshuujō Satsujin Jiken" (ゴルフ練 1997 習場殺人事件)

A relaxing day at the driving range leads Conan, Richard, and Rachel to their next explosive case, as the president of a leading electronics manufacturer meets an untimely end. Richard believes the vice president to be responsible by placing a bomb inside a golf ball. Conan discovers a burnt golf ball and realizes that the bomb was in the golf club. He deduces that Michael, the assistant, was the killer. He reveals he is the president's son and wanted his father's company and implies he killed others to inherit it. As the police drag him away, Conan believes that there may have been some good in him, as he had tried to make Conan leave the area before the bomb went off.

"The Mist Goblin Murder (Part 1)" / "The Mist Goblin Legend Murder Case"1 March 17, 52 53B hr. — 1997 "Kiri-tengu Densetsu Satsujin Jiken" (霧天狗伝説殺人事件)

One rainy day, Rachel, Conan and Richard lost their way home and are about to spend the night in the car when Conan luckily finds a temple. They are welcomed by the headmaster of the temple. But during dinner, when they hear Richard is a detective, the Master gets angry and wants him out of the Temple by tomorrow. Sadly the next day, the headmaster is murdered and they are four suspects: Kannen, Mokunen, Tonnen and Shunen. The same thing happened 2 years ago: a student is murdered.

"The Mist Goblin Murder (Part 2)" / "The Mist Goblin Legend Murder Case"1 March 17, 52 54B hr. — 1997 "Kiri-tengu Densetsu Satsujin Jiken" (霧天狗伝説殺人事件)

After the murder of the headmaster, Conan uses Richard to reveal that the Master was murdered last night before being hanged. The murderer used a dashboard to the waterfall to fill the room he was found in with water and a rubber boat to float to the top, where he hung the corpse on the rail. Conan names Shunin the murderer, revealing Shunen didn't hear Richard's scream the night before and noting a piece of double-sided tape had his fingerprints. Shunen reveals Chunin, the student killed 2 years ago was his older brother. He was in love with the Master's granddaughter, but the Master refused to allow the two together, so he murdered him the same way. Shunen arrived to find out who killed his brother. When the Master left last night, Shunen begged him for an answer. Drunken, the Master reveals the truth but isn't guilty at all about the murder and was strangled to death. Shunen decided to cover it up the same way his brother's death was covered.

Richard is invited to a party for the release of a game which stores himself. While there, Conan runs into a man who uses the alias Tequila and learns that he plans to meet with Gin and Vodka. Conan follows Tequila to the bathroom where an explosion occurs and kills the man. Conan investigates the explosion and realizes that it was a murder attempt but the wrong person was killed. Conan knocks Richard out and uses his voice changing bow tie to reveal what had happened. Conan reveals that Tequila and Henry Nelbit, one of the game designers, secretly exchanged suitcases. Conan reveals that the bomber is game designer Charles Shore and that Henry was his intended target. As evidence, Conan reveals that Henry's suitcase's key would fit into the suitcase Charles is holding since that is originally Henry's suitcase. Charles confesses and denounces Henry for having an affair with his wife. Conan asks Henry what he knows about Tequila's acquaintances only to learn that he always meets them in the cafe in the Apollo building. Conan uncovers the trick used by the murderer in this apparently impossible crime, using the change given by a lady working on the victim's train.

Conan, Richard, and Rachael are out jogging when they are attracted to the scene of a murder. One of the owners of the Sunfish Cleaning Company has been killed by a falling beam. Conan solves the crime by using window reflections.

Conan enters a Sherlock Holmes contest to win a first-edition book and persuades Rachel and Richard to attend. Once at the place of the contest, everyone must take a 1000-question test about Sherlock Holmes. Harley appears and reveals to Rachel he thought he would meet Jimmy there. Later that day, Harry Kanucka, the host, is seen driving his car off a cliff and into the ocean. Harry's death is presumed to be a murder and contestant Sheila Sands reveals she knows who the murderer is. Later a garage fire occurs and Sheila is found dead. Next, a blackout occurs and Erny Bowers, another contestant, is stabbed in the back with an ice pick.

After Conan reveals his insight, Harley believes Conan is actually Jimmy Kudo. Harley reveals that when Kanucka was in the car, his body had already undergone rigor mortis. At that moment, Conan and Harley realize who the murderer is. Harley decides to wait for Conan to solve the case in order to see if he really is Jimmy. Conan tranquilizes Harley and makes it seem as if Harley solved the case. Conan accuses Alex Carr, claiming he placed Harry in the car after murdering him. Alex, he claims, then placed Harry's foot on the brake and once rigor mortis had set in, turned on the car's heater, shifted the car into drive, and opened the garage. The heat caused Harry's body to leave rigor quicker than usual, easing pressure on the brake and causing the car to accelerate into the ocean. For Sheila's murder, Alex told Sheila the book was hidden in a car in the garage. The car had a punctured gas tank and the batteries were dead. With the batteries dead, the car light did not work, forcing Sheila to use her lighter, igniting the fire. Since the garage fire was designed for Erny Bowers, Alex decided to create a blackout and stab him. Alex than asks Harley for evidence, and Conan reveals that Alex did not answer a single question on the questionnaire, apparently knowing the host would be dead. Harley wakes up and decides to blackmail Conan into revealing who he really is. Afterwards, Conan reveals his identity to Harley, as well as how he shrank.

"Shopping Can Be Murder" / "The First Errand Murder Case" May 19, 59 61 "Hajimete no Otsukai Satsujin Jiken" (初めてのお使い殺 1997 人事件)

Conan and the Junior Detective League volunteer to follow and videotape participants of the "Toddler Shopping Day". While following Christopher, a series of strange events occur. Conan deduces that the child witnessed a murder. The boy, not understanding what he had seen or that he is in danger, continues to shop. The culprit kidnaps Christopher, drugging him and placing him with another man's body in a building to be demolished that day. The man then locks Conan and the gang in the room and escapes. As the building begins to fall apart, Conan finds a water pipe that leads outside, and safely guides everyone out of the building and confronts the killer. He reveals that the dead man was a loan shark who loaned him the money he used to build his grocery store. He claims that he killed the loan shark because even though he had paid off the loan, the other kept demanding more until nothing was left.

"Illustrated Murder" / "An Illustrator Murder May 26, 60 62 Case" 1997 "Irasutorētā Satsujin Jiken" (イラストレーター殺人事件)

Richard is asked to comment on crime drawings by a famous artist, whose assistant reveals that she did more than 60% of the drawings in the book that Richard is supposed to review. She threatens to reveal this fact to the public. The artist gets angry and hits her with an ashtray, killing her. Conan proves his case by spilling coffee on the artist to show a butterfly symbol on his toe painted on him by his assistant while he slept.

"Ghost Ship Murder (Part 1)" / "A Ghost Ship Murder Case (Part 1)" 61 63 June 2, 1997 "Yūreisen Satsujin Jiken (Zenpen)" (幽霊船殺人事件(前編))

Conan and Rachel accompany Richard to an island where Richard was invited to make a speech about a ghost ship that had been lost at sea 7 years before. Richard arrives on stage completely drunk. A miniature bomb explodes, nearly killing him. Conan realizes that the supposed ghost and ghost ship at the shrine in the pirate's cave are being manipulated by someone on the ship. Attacked at night, Richard flees, finding the lighthouse care-taker. A sword protrudes from the caretaker's neck, covered in blood. The townspeople believe Richard did it but he insists he did not.

"Ghost Ship Murder (Part 2)" / "A Ghost Ship Murder Case (Part 2)" 62 64 June 9, 1997 "Yūreisen Satsujin Jiken (Kōhen)" (幽霊船殺人事件(後編))

Conan proves that Richard did not kill the caretaker. Next, Conan enters the cave to show that the sounds were from the wind in the tunnels. Conan finds a staircase which breaks away to reveal another dead man and the killer. Conan deduces that the ghost ship was stuck in this part of the cave for 7 years due to a cave-in. Conan finds the gold hidden in the bricks of the staircase covered in moss. Another cave-in occurs, forcing Conan and the killer to leave. The gold is sealed inside the cave. "Gomera!" / "Big Monster Gomera Murder Case" June 16, 63 65 "Ōkaijū Gomera Satsujin Jiken" (大怪獣ゴメラ殺人事件) 1997

When Conan and the gang visit a movie set someone in the Gomera costume stabs the man in charge of the whole movie building. Conan discovers that the person who played Gomera is the killer. He managed to fool everyone because he stabbed himself as a cover-up and his closest friend on set became his accomplice during the murder out of hate for the victim. He reveals the motive for his crime: the victim wanted to end the Gomera franchise and stole his script to make into a new movie. Ironically, the success of what was meant to be the last Gomera movie causes more sequels to be made, using scripts he continues to write in prison.

"The Three Fingerprints" / "The Third Fingerprint Murder Case" June 23, 64 66 "Daisan no Shimon Satsujin Jiken" (第 3 の指紋殺人事 1997 件)

Richard is invited to a barbecue by his senior colleague. Suddenly the host has to leave due to a call from a crime gang member stating that he killed someone and wants to turn himself in. Richard's colleague told the police that he had accidentally killed his client, but it turns out that he planned his death.

"The Crab and Whale" / "A Crab and Whale June 30, 65 67 Kidnapping Case" 1997 "Kani to Kujira Yūkai Jiken" (カニとクジラ誘拐事件)

While out at a bar with Richard and Rachel, Conan overhears a man on the phone with a kidnapper. When he alerts Richard, they find out the man's son, Kerry, has been kidnapped and the kidnappers want 50 million yen. The boy is heard saying that he sees a bunch of crabs and a whale, and it's up to Conan to find the boy before it's too late.

"Moonless Murder" / "Night Road Murder Case" 66 68 July 7, 1997 "Kurayami no Michi Satsujin Jiken" (暗闇の道殺人事件)

Conan runs into an old friend, and in an apparent coincidence a person is found dead next door outside on the street. With a few clues Conan is able to find out who the murderer is and that he used his sock, filled with rocks, as the weapon, and used th glow of the victim's cigarette as the target. He reveals that the victim aided him in murdering his wife to claim her life insurance and feared exposure.

"The Case of the Murdered Actress" / "Stage 67 69 Actress Murder Case" July 14, 1997 "Butai Joyū Satsujin Jiken" (舞台女優殺人事件) Richard is to find the sender of a threatening note received by a theater. Richard's case turns into a murder when the lead actress dies on stage, but he breaks his back before Conan can solve it. Conan shows that someone used a string covered in poison and lowered it into a glass the actress was drinking from to kill her. Her agent, Harmony, is identified as the murderer when marks from pulling the string are seen on her hands. She reveals that her client broke up with her boyfriend, Harmony's ex-fiancee and lead male star, and showed nothing but cold disregard for breaking his heart. Harmony had ended her relationship with him, and aborted a baby she was carrying of his, to help his career and wouldn't let a woman who didn't love him ruin him.

"Knight Baron Mystery (Part 1)" / "Night Baron Murder Case (Case Part)" 68 70 July 21, 1997 "Yami no Danshaku Satsujin Jiken (Jikenhen)" (闇の男爵殺人事件(事件篇))

Conan, Rachel, Richard end up on a paid vacation to St. Annes beach resort, which is actual a mystery tour to find the masked Knight Baron (a fictional character in Booker Kudo's books). The winner gets free room and a software design thats is most likely a virus. Ten people are on the tour as well, who get tense instantly when they find out detective Moore is on the tour too. While staring out on the balcony, the knight baron appears and pushes Conan over the edge causing him to land in the pool. Can Conan figure out who the Knight Baron is? and why is the Knight Baron giving away a computer virus?

When a man on the tour is found dead in the knight baron costume everybody believes it was an accident, but Conan thinks otherwise. Later Rachel, Conan, and a member of the tour are attacked coming out of the elevator by the Knight Baron. Rachel fights him off but doesn't land a hit, which makes Rachel believe she knows who is in the Knight Baron costume. Can Conan solve this case even if the wind is a factor?

"Knight Baron Mystery (Part 3)" / "Night Baron Murder Case (Resolution Part)" August 4, 70 72 "Yami no Danshaku Satsujin Jiken (Kaiketsuhen)" (闇の 1997 男爵殺人事件(解決篇))

Rachal proves that Cliff isn't the Knight Baron thanks to his fans. Conan uses the wind to figure out who the Knight Baron is. Using Richard, he reveals that Romero wasn't pushed off his room, but Audra and Cliff's room. Audra used sleeping pills on Romero, dressed him as the Knight Baron and pushed him out of her room. Cliff discovers her Knight Baron wig, which she didn't put on Romero since he already had the same kind of hair, and realizes she murdered him. He stole the costume and dressed as Knight Baron in front of her and left out his alibi to keep her from being arrested. She confesses that Romero hacked into her brother's computer systems years ago, the shock of losing his company forced him into committing suicide. She staged this event and lured him with a fake virus. Despite Audra's acting to make him forget her, Cliff still stays loyal to her and allows himself to be arrested for aiding her.

"The Stalker" / "A Stalker's Murder Case" August 11, 71 73 "Sutōkā Satsujin Jiken" (ストーカー殺人事件) 1997

Richard, Rachel, and Conan are out for a walk when they notice a man who drank a juice box die from poison. They later learn he was a stalking a young woman. After investigating, Conan find evidence to prove she was the murderer. She covered her fingers in glue to avoid leaving fingerprints and used the stalker's psychotic affection for her to drink a poisoned bottle. The woman reveals she feared for her safety as the stalker pushed her down a staircase after she called the police. Conan then also reveals that the stalker planned to kill her on that day evidenced by his bag. He tells her with this, she should get a light sentence.

"Triple Terror" / "The Triplet's Country Home August 18, 72 74 Murder Case" 1997 "Mitsugo Bessō Satsujin Jiken" (三つ子別荘殺人事件)

A murder occurs and the suspects are the victim's sons, who are triplets, including one of whom is Serena's sister's fiance. Using Serena, Conan deduces that the writer murdered his father and inadvertedly revealed himself during a phone call made during a blackout. He claims to have killed his father to live an adventure.

"The Ship Wreck Murder" / "The Detective Boys' August 25, 73 75 Disaster Case" 1997 "Shōnentantei-dan Sōnan Jiken" (少年探偵団遭難事件)

The Detective Boys, along with Rachael and Richard, are at a beach one day when they come across two rich people; a snobby young man named Kogatsu, and a young woman named Shinobu. George finds an SOS in a bottle by Shinobu on a beach. They find her in a cave; reaching it by a raft. She explains Kogatsu tried to kill her by drugging her to sleep and letting the tides rise. The tides have risen to a point where they can not leave the cave. They venture into the maze of a cave and escape to a pool where they encounter Kogatsu and Richard. Kogatsu then holds Ayumi at gunpoint and threatens to kill everyone, but Rachel and an old guard arrive in time to save them. In the end, Kogatsu is taken to jail as Shinobu looks sadly at the man who betrayed her love while Richard is sternly lectured by the old guard for fishing in the pool, which is off-limits.

"Jinnai, King of Death" / "The Death God Jinnai September 74 76 Murder Case" 1, 1997 "Shinigami Jinnai Satsujin Jiken" (死神陣内殺人事件)

A death threat is given to famous actor Harnison Noble, and Richard Moore accepts the case to try and prevent it. When the murder is successful, can Richard find the mysterious Jinnai, or will there be too many holes for even Conan to solve?

Richard is playing Mahjong when they called a Loan Company President to play with them. When they find him in his office, he has died from Cyanide poisoning. The suspects are three of his employees. The poison was only found on the victim's thumb, money, and door handle, but nowhere else in the office. Conan solves the mystery, showing how Cyanide was erased with Bleach. The culprit explains how it was for revenge for putting the person's loved one in such a great debt.

"Phantom Thief 1412 (Part 1)" / "Conan vs. September 76 78 Phantom Thief Kid"1 hr. 22, 1997 "Conan VS Kaitō Kiddo" (コナン VS 怪盗キッド)

Detective Moore is given the case on capturing Phantom Thief 1412. Conan tags along and finds Phantom Thief 1412 on a roof, far away from the cops. After Phantom Thief's escape, he leaves a note on his true intention, the theft of the Black Star, a rare black pearl, the next day. Conan sets out to capture Phantom Thief 1412.

"Phantom Thief 1412 (Part 2)" / "Conan vs. September 76 79 Phantom Thief Kid"1 hr. 22, 1997 "Conan VS Kaitō Kiddo" (コナン VS 怪盗キッド)

The phantom thief makes his way on board the ship where the black pearl is on. To make things hard harder for the thief everyone on the ship was givin a fake black pearls but nobody knows if they are wearing the real one. The phantom thief figures out who has the real pearl. Conan then confronts the phantom thief who was disguised as rachel. The phantom thief gets away but gives Conan back the real pearl and Rachel is found sleeping in one of the life boats.

After bowling, Rachel, Serena, and Conan head to the bank to check in a cheque. While there, an armed bank robbing happens. After some struggle, one man is shot by the robber but survives. After being shot, another man struggles with the robber and ends up shooting and killing the robber. It all seems normal but Conan finds it strange. After figuring out the robber had an accomplice, Conan, using Serena, reveals the robber's accomplice. He reveals the two planned to use the money to pay off their debts and make some cash.

While at a painting exhibit, Conan notices a man in rag examining a picture. The next day while playing baseball with his friends, he notices the man again. After being asked about his drawings of a home, the man realizes he has been drawing unconsciously, and holds his head in pain. In the hospital, he was revealed to have been affected by amnesia and the pain was his returning memories. The man leaves the hospital. The next day while playing baseball, Genta finds the man dead. Conan finds out the man is an artist who's been missing for a year. His wife is the only one who can identify the body but she proclaims it's not him. Conan proves that the man was the artist by fingerprints he left behind when he came home after regaining his memories. Conan shows them who the murderer was.

Conan meets up with the kidnappers and just when he was about to defeat them, the Junior Detective League arrive and are captured. The kidnappers leave and then set the room on fire, but Conan figure a way out. While at the concert, the Junior Detective League accidentally start the music too early, and if stopped it will anger the crowd even more. Conan tries to sing but that angers the crowd. The singer then takes The Junior Detective League out with her to sing.

The culprit has an alibi of talking to the nurse in another room at the time of the murder. Moore is desperate to go into the Sleeping Richard phase to prove his innocence and happily exclaims it's coming when Conan secretly shoots a tranquilizer dart. Conan disproves the culprits alibi and proves Moore to be innocent.

Mitch brings a wideband receiver to school and the Detective Boys pick up a terrifying phone call by a kidnapper. Using the sounds heard in the background and the conversation as clues, Conan is able to narrow the location of the kidnapper to an area around a railroad, a high school, and a construction site. The kidnapper demands the victim's father to commit suicide and the victim yells out the final clue indicating that she's near a tire factory. Conan is able to apprehend the kidnapper just in time.

"For the Birds" / "The Crane's Reciprocation Murder Case" January 87 90 "Tsuru no Ongaeshi Satsujin Jiken" (鶴の恩返し殺人事 19, 1998 件)

Conan, Rachel, and Richard take a trip to Hokkaidō to see the red-crowned cranes. They run into an old man who takes care of the cranes and he invites them to his house. At the house, the old man's daughter and son rush into the room demanding the reason why the old man is donating his life savings to the city. The group is allowed to soak in the hot spring near the house, but they are called to the house when they find out the old man has been murdered. The old man's son confesses that he's the murderer, but Conan proves that he's not. Using Richard, Conan announces the old man's brother to be the killer who set up a spring loaded crossbow and fired it at the same time as the son.

"Vampire Villa (Part 1)" / "Dracula's Villa Murder Case (Part 1)" January 88 91 "Dorakyura-sō Satsujin Jiken (Zenpen)" (ドラキュラ荘 26, 1998 殺人事件(前編)) Richard is called by a famous horror novelist named Daisuke Torakura, whose nickname is Mr. Dracula because most of his novels contain vampires. At Torakura's villa, Richard meets Torakura's student and wife, a magazine editor, a researcher studying the legend of vampires, and Torakura himself dressed as a vampire. Torakura asks Richard to investigate his wife because he believe she is having an affair and offers Richard to stay the night because of a snowstorm. While Torakura stays in his study to finish writing, Conan and Rachel tour the mansion. At midnight, everyone checks on Torakura only to find him tied to a wooden cross with a stake driven through his heart. The death is murder, but the study's door was locked and there is no footprints in the snow leading to and away from the study outside.

Richard reviews the events that took place before the murder of Stefan van Croven and discovers everyone in the villa has a motive to kill because van Croven has been lying and blackmailing them. Conan finds a ladder in a closet and cellophane tape stuck to the curtain rack to discover the trick used in the lock room murder. Conan stuns Richard to reveal that by using the film projector and cellophane tape stuck to the door lock, anyone can be the murder. But points out the murderer is Torakura's student, Jonathan Tradonio, because of a bad lie he told before the body was found.

"Deadly Art" / "The Flower Scent Murder Case" February 90 93 "Hana no Kaori Satsujin Jiken" (花の香り殺人事件) 9, 1998

Richard is invited to Rika Okano's ikebana award ceremony to investigate a threat letter announcing a murder. Rika brushes the letter off as jealous hate mail, but the threat soon comes true when the owner of the hotel where the award ceremony is taking place is strangled to death. Conan notices something strange about the flower the owner was wearing and figures out the trick after he finds chloroform in Rika's dressing room. He also finds cyanide and worries that another murder will take place. Conan hurries to the stage where Rika is performing and sprays all the flowers with liquid nitrogen. With Richard stunned, Conan reveals Rika's assistant to be the culprit who also made a suicidal attempt to take Rika's life as well.

"Hospital Homicide" / "The Bank Robber's February 91 94 Hospitalization Case" 16, 1998 "Gōtō Hannin Nyuuin Jiken" (強盗犯人入院事件)

Richard breaks his leg and is admitted to the hospital. Conan and the Detective Boys visit him after school where they meet Yoshio and Richard hospital roommates. In the room's conversation, it is revealed that Yoshio was working at the bank at the time of a 100 million yen heist and the criminals is still at large. Conan confronts Yoshio and tells him he knows the bank criminals are forcing him to kill their apprehended partner and his daughter is held hostage. Conan grabs the gun which Yoshio is holding and knocks out the criminals with his soccer ball. The Detective Boys rush in to save Yoshio's daughter who is held on top of a building across from the hospital.

"Mountain Fox (Part 1)" / "The Fearful Traversing Murder Case (Part 1)" February 92 95 "Kyōfu no Toravaasu Satsujin Jiken (Zenpen)" (恐怖の 23, 1998 トラヴァース殺人事件(前編))

A real estate company president named Bunzō Ushio mistaken an ulcer for cancer and paid an assassin nicknamed Fox to assassinate him. Now that he realized his mistake, he asks Kogoro to find Fox because he lost contact and is unable to stop the assassination. Bunzō explains the agreement includes that Fox will only target him while he's traversing, so Richard, Rachel, and Conan head to Tanbara mountain to traverse with Bunzō. Along the way up, the guide is murdered and Kogoro is attacked during the night when the group stays in a cabin on top of the mountain. One person is missing at night, but only because he's claustrophobic. When Richard and Conan head back to the cabin, they hear Rachel's shriek.

They deduce that the killer is the woman's partner and discover him gone along with the cabin's caretaker. Richard saves the killer from a landslide and ties him up, but the assassin nicknamed Fox is still out there. Conan concludes Fox was disguised as the now missing caretaker. Conan rushes into the forest after a gunshot is heard and saves Fox from Bunzō who wanted revenge after one of Fox's assassination jobs led to the death of his daughter.

They are invited to the mansion to investigate the crime scene. As they investigate, Conan notices in Carl's picture collection of his students, that the picture of Atrimus Plomtholyd is dustless. Nina reveals Artrimus to be Carl's favorite student who passed away in an accident fourteen years ago. She later turns himself in to the police. On the way home, Rachel takes Conan to Jimmy's house and confronts him, certain his true identity is Jimmy. Jimmy's mother,Vivian, coincidentally arrives and covers for Conan by telling Rachel Conan is a distant relative and has been trained by Jimmy. The next day, Vivian takes Conan to investigate the identity of her uncle named Yorkham Xanderbilt by the request of her friend, Hiedy Xanderbilt. Hiedy, and her relatives, suspect Yorkam is impersonating their uncle to get a share of the inheritance left by their father, Cornileus Xanderbilt. A scar on Yorkham's leg ascertains his identity. Yorkham reveals that one of the relatives sent him a threatening letter against his life if he returns to claim the inheritance reveals the man accompanying him is Carlos, a Brazilian bodyguard.

The police are called to investigate while Conan attempts to discern who the murderer is. The police find the step mother's car in the forest with the key in the emission and a cassette tape missing. Kari confesses revealing that she was in heavy debt. Conan then reveals that the step mother used the cassette to forge an alibi to make it seem as if she was at the party, and had planned to murder Yorkham to increase her share of the inheritance. The camellia flower was to link the crime to their biological mother's death to add to the confusion. Yorkham, skilled in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, deflects the knife and killed her unintentionally in self defense. Conan deduces that Yorkham had received two threats, one from Kari and one from the step mother, and had placed the body in the well as a warning to the second killer. The disguised man then enters the room revealing himself to be Jimmy's father, Booker Kudo, who reveals that Yorkham placed the body there so it could be found to test the Detective's skills. Yorkham, who realized that Magnum was an idiot, kept it a secret about what had happened and the two threats. Booker then reveals that the man is not Yorkham and that he was a bodyguard for Carlos who is the son of the real Yorkham. He further elaborates explaining the man had been writing letters for the real Yorkham since Yorkham lost his left hand, evidenced by letters Booker found in the storage room. Later, Booker and Vivian return Conan to the Moore's resident before returning home.

Conan discovers Kōtarō never drank the wine and the doctor was the true killer after viewing a recording of the murder caught on camera.

They notice the house on fire from the bar's window several hours later and rush back. Rachel bursts through the burning building to save Asami just in time.

Conan reveals Kōzaburō tricked everyone by taking them to the 6th floor while everyone believed they were on the 5th by creating a duplicate room on both floors. As proof, Conan asks Takagi to find the model gun under the sofa that Richard secretly broke in the room on the 6th floor.

Richard receives a letter asking him to solve the mystery of a mansion. There, Richard, Conan, and Rachel meet Misao Nakamura and his brother. The entire mansion is filled with clocks since the previous owner, the brother's grandfather, was a clockwork artisan. Conan notices the strange mysteries - every digital clock is scratched between the two minute digits, drilled holes are everywhere, a mirror is glued to a desk, every clock rings for one minute at 11:00, and there's someone hiding in the attic. At 1:10, three goblins figures appear from the cuckoo clock in the office.

"The Mystery of Bludcraven Manor (Part 2)" / "The Mysterious Robbers and Mansion Case June 15, 105 111D (Part 2)" 1998 "Ninki Aatisuto Yūkai Jiken (Kōhen)" (盗賊団謎の洋館事件(後編))

Conan figures out the mysteries of the mansion, but waits until dark to pass on clues to the struggling Kogoro. The first clue he gives is a pun that reveals 1100 means a lion. The second clue Conan gives reveals the "N", "L, and "R" letters on the goblin figure's head stand for "night", "light", and "right". By shining a light through the lion head on the front door, the light reflects through the holes throughout the mansion and onto the cuckoo clock where a cuckoo bird emerges carrying a golden watch. The two brothers show their true identity as members of a band of thieves called the Goblins, but they are taken down by Kogoro and Ran and the real Misao is released from the attic.

A newspaper reporter is attacked over the phone and Conan rushes to the apartment to find the apartment on fire and the award-winning photographer, Ryūichi Yanase, snapping pictures. Using evidence from the photos, Conan takes his deduction to the airwaves when Kogoro appears on a television show hosted by Ryūichi. Conan presents two photos to warrant Ryūichi's arrest with the help of Professor Agasa and Inspector Megure: a photo of Ryūichi's gold watch at the scene of the crime and a traffic violation photo with Ryūichi with the watch on.

The Detective Boys ask a witness who heard digging noises from Yoshikazu's yard on the day Masao's sister went missing to find the witness made a mistake and the noise was actually coming from the construction site next door. Conan calls the police and puts on a show telling his deduction. Conan points out the body is under a growing flower which sprouted from the victim received as a gift on the day she went missing.

They lose sight of it near a factory, but they find it again minutes later to chase it to a police station where a man named Kenichi Shishido turns himself in for hit and run. At the hospital, everyone is surprised to hear a man has been murdered in the factory where they were at. Conan finds a red car in a building beside the factory and other clues that point the murder to Kenichi. Conan knocks Kogoro out to explain Kenichi is the murderer and he purposely hit Ayumi and allowed the Detective Boys to chase him as an alibi. As proof, they find Ayumi's detective badge wedged in between the bumper of the car in the garage.

Ran takes a French cuisine cooking lesson in Sonoko's absence and Conan and Kogoro tag along. There is a blackout while Conan and Kogoro head to the washroom and they find someone purposely tripped the circuit breaker using a weight and block of ice. Returning to the kitchen, the teacher is on the floor claiming to have trouble breathing and Conan discovers she's been punctured in the back. The police investigate and find evidence the attacker was someone from inside.

The four suspects is interrogated and searched. It seems everyone has a motive, but no evidence or murder weapon is found to pinpoint the killer. Conan does a little investigation of his own and finds a contact lens case outside the bathroom window and tinted contact lens in one of the mixing bowls. Just as the suspects pressures the police to let them go, Conan steps in reveal the trick was done by a sewing needle, string, and a ring to push the needle through and the only one wearing a ring is Nishitani.

"School of Ghouls" / "The Seven Mysteries of August 112 118 Teitan Elementary School Case" 10, 1998 "Teitan-shō Nana-Fushigi Jiken" (帝丹小 7 不思議事件)

Ayumi came to school one night to find a masked man. She told the vice- principal about it and he became absent for the last two days and the other teachers are acting suspicious. The Detective Boys sneak into the school at night where they find puppets with their names on it, mannequins and statues being moved, and someone trying to scare them with red paint and dry ice. The Detective Boys pretend to be scared and hide in the bathroom. When they come out, they find their teacher, Ms. Kobayashi, secretly practicing for the parent meet. However, she claims to not have tried to scare them off and they realize that someone else is indeed in the school. However, it is actually the vice-principal who lost his toupee and had been searching for it for the last two nights.

"Prescription for Murder" / "The White Sandy August 113 119 Beach Murder Case" 17, 1998 "Shiroi Sunahama Satsujin Jiken" (白い砂浜殺人事件) A young woman is found by a reef in what appears to be a suicide, but when information that the town's doctor had been intimate with her in the past is revealed, both Conan and Richard suspect that murder is really involved. Now the two must find the clues before his drinking alibi fully comes through.

"Scuba Dying (Part 1)" / "Scuba Diving Murder Case (Part 1)" August 114 120 "Sukyūba Daibingu Satsujin Jiken (Zenpen)" (ス 24, 1998 キューバダイビング殺人事件(前編))

Ran tricks her mother and father into going to the beach together. Kogoro, annoyed, leaves for the bathroom and returns with two girls named Kiwako Toda and Harumi Matsuzaki who invite the Mori family and Conan to lunch with the scuba diving club at the local college. Kiwako decides to go snorkeling alone and asks Kiwako to get her a towel during lunch. After a while, the group spots Kiwako drowning and rushes to save her. Drowning is the least of their worries because Kiwako was bitten by a snake. Ran is sure she saw an erabu sea snake, but everyone is confused when she claims she saw the snake with wings.

"Scuba Dying (Part 2)" / "Scuba Diving Murder Case (Part 2)" August 115 121 "Sukyūba Daibingu Satsujin Jiken (Kōhen)" (スキュー 31, 1998 バダイビング殺人事件(後編))

The Mori family, Conan, and the diving club members rush to the hospital where Kiwako is in intensive care. Conan and Eri is sure the events was an attempted murder case and Conan gets an idea who did it after a conversation Eri and Ran has about Kogoro. Conan knocks Kogoro out to use him to tell the deduction he has in front of Harumi. Conan believes Kiwako was only pretending to drown to test her fiance's love for her and Harumi forced a snake to bite Kiwako to take advantage of the situation which explains the wings Ran saw. Harumi admit her mistake and is glad the antidote reached the hospital on time to save Kiwako.

A young woman shows up at the detective agency asking Detective Mori to find her father, a mystery writer, who vanished two months ago along with his wife. The only clue to his whereabouts is a piece found in his latest publication.

In continuation from the last case, the search for the mystery writer continues. Conan and the others must decipher the code in his text in order to solve the mystery of his and his wife's disappearance two months ago.

A serial killer who strangles his victims first then stabs them though their wallet to their chest appears in Osaka. Heiji Hattori invites Conan, Ran, and Mouri for a tour in Osaka. While on the tour they meet Kazuha Toyama who has followed them since the beginning to "Keep an eye on Heiji from Ran". Later, their a body is dropped onto the car, the third victim of the same serial killer.

"License to Die (Part 2)" / "The Naniwa Serial Septembe 118 125 Murder Case"1 hr. r 21, 1998 "Naniwa no Renzoku Satsujin Jiken" (浪花の連続殺人事件)

After failing to prevent the fourth victim from being killed, they found out the victims are indeed connected, they took the driving test at the same time at the same place. Heiji then travels to meet up with the councilman named Gouji, who is a suspect of causing the murders. Conan is forced by Ran to travel with another officer to go to their hotel but due to an emergency, they are driven to the site where Numabuchi, a mass murder and also a suspect, is thought to be hiding. After Conan finds him, he realizes Numabuchi and Gouji are not the murderer. Heiji also realizes this and both figure out Sakada, the tour guide police, is the murderer. After stopping his suicide, Heiji is shot but survives.

"The Masked Yaiba Murder Mystery" / "Masked October 119 126 Yaiba Murder Case" 12, 1998 "Kamen Yaibaa Satsujin Jiken" (仮面ヤイバー殺人事件)

Conan and the gang attend a Kamen Rider costume party. In a duel between a Yaiba cos-player and staff, both shoot their guns, but only one bullet kills. Is there more to this case than what everyone saw with their own two eyes?

"The Big Sting" /"A Honey Cocktail Murder Case" October 120 127 "Hanii Kakuteru Satsujin Jiken" (ハニーカクテル殺人事 19, 1998 件)

Kogoro is invited to a mountain house by a previous client named Hiromi Yamazaki who wishes Kogoro to help with the announcement of a spa resort. While Kogoro is looking out the window, Hiromi falls from the second floor and is announced dead. Evidence show Hiromi was attacked by bees and accidentally ran off the balcony, but Conan believes there's more to the story and does an investigation of his own. Using a knocked out Kogoro, Conan declares the housekeeper, Shingo Aihara, as the killer who used Hiromi's apiphobia to his advantage and other tricks to ensure Hiromi fell to her doom. "The Forgotten Bond (Part 1)" / "The Locked Bathroom Murder Case (Part 1)" October 121 128 "Basurūmu Misshitsu Jiken (Zenpen)" (バスルーム密室 26, 1998 事件(前編))

Conan, Ran, and Kogoro are on their way to a Yōko concert when Kogoro discovers he lost his ticket. He overhears a woman named Masayo on the payphone and her situation about a friend who is unable to go to the concert because of a cold. Kogoro asks her for the spare ticket and she accepts as long as Kogoro drives her to her house to pick up her sister. Masayo finds the bathroom sealed with tape and when they break through, they find Masayo's sister dead. Everyone believes the death was a suicide, but Conan knows its murder.

"The Forgotten Bond (Part 2)" / "The Locked Bathroom Murder Case (Part 2)" November 122 129 "Basurūmu Misshitsu Jiken (Kōhen)" (バスルーム密室 2, 1998 事件(後編))

The victim's fiancé busts in and tells the police he was ringing the door bell the day before because the victim missed an appointment. Conan knocks out Kogoro, and tells his deduction to everyone that Masayo is the murderer and the sealed room wasn't really sealed at all. To prove it, Conan directs the police to the bloodstain on the door and explains Masayo got blood on her headband and looked through the spy hole when the fiancé was ringing the doorbell.

"The Disappearing Weather Girl" / "The Weather Girl Kidnapping Case" November 123 130 "Otenki Oneesan Yūkai Jiken" (お天気お姉さん誘拐事 9, 1998 件)

Aki Asano, the weather girl for the local news, leaves a message for Kogoro's assistance. Kogoro is away because of business so the Detective Boys go instead to discover Aki has been getting threatening letters. Conan gives Aki his pager number just before she receives an urgent phone call and asks the Detective Boys to wait for her. She does not come back, but Conan begins to receive numbers as messages from her on his pager including the emergency telephone number. With a hint from Ran and Genta, Conan is able to decode the messages and pinpoint where Aki is and apprehend the kidnapper.

"A Mysterious Sniper Murder Case (Part 1)" November 124 — "Nazo no Sogekimono Satsujin Jiken (Zenpen)" (謎の 16, 1998 狙撃者殺人事件(前編))

Seiji Ishimoto, president of an electronic company, claims he has been receiving threat letters and hires Kogoro as a bodyguard. As a government minister gets on stage at the banquet where they're at, he is shot and Seiji's shoulder is gazed. Conan spots a man on the balcony, but he is unable to find him. Kogoro spends the night at Seiji's hotel room keeping watch in case the murderer returns. In the morning, Kogoro receives a phonecall from Inspector Megure announcing the man on the balcony was found dead.

"A Mysterious Sniper Murder Case (Part 2)" November 125 — "Nazo no Sogekimono Satsujin Jiken (Kōhen)" (謎の 23, 1998 狙撃者殺人事件(後編))

Seiji Ishimoto tells the police about the threat letters after he's approached by the minister's secretary, Tsuneaki Niikura. When everyone leaves the hotel room, Conan does a search, but he is interrupted by an unknown man who finds something. Inspector Megure questions Kogoro about Seiji's secretary and reveals she has a motive and shows a picture of her boyfriend who Kogoro recognizes as the person he bumped into as he left the hotel room. Kogoro calls everyone to the murder scene where he declares the boyfriend to be the killer. Conan stuns Kogoro to reveal Tsuneaki Niikura as the true killer who sent the threat letters to Seiji as a diversion.

"The Traveling Drama Troupe Murder Case (Part 1)" November 126 — "Tabi Shibai Ichiza Satsujin Jiken (Zenpen)" (旅芝居一 30, 1998 座殺人事件(前編)) Ran, Sonoko, and the Detective boys all get to go backstage of a drama/acrobatics productions before it debues. They witness the script writer being unnecessarily rough with the new young ringmaster, who is the son of the recently deceased old ringmaster. After going through a dress rehearsal of the play, the new ringmaster's little sister goes to get the script writer only to find him dead. It seems no one from the troupe could have committed the murder since they were all practicing together, but Conan can't help but notice that the ringmaster is acting suspicious when he doesn't tell everyone that something is missing from the scene.

"The Black Organization: 1 Billion Yen Robbery Case" December 128 — "Kuro no Soshiki Jūoku En Gōdatsu Jiken" (黒の組織 10 14, 1998 億円強奪事件)

While at the bank, Conan witnesses bank robbers driving away with the 1 billion yen in a truck. The police finds the abandoned truck under the bridge and come upon a mask used for the robbery. The lipstick on the mask suggests that Masami Hirota is the culprit in the robbery. Later that night, Gin and Vodka assassinate the two bank robbers and place Hirota's lipstick at the crime scene. Conan realizes that an unknown assailant is attempting to lure Hirota out of hiding. Conan sneaks into Hirota's apartment and attempts to stop her from meeting the assailants. Ignoring Conan's warning, Hirota heads to an empty warehouse and meets Gin who reveals her true identity to beAkemi Miyano. She asks him to release her sister in exchange for the 1 billion yen; Gin however murders her and takes the keys to a coin locker containing the money from the robbery. Conan arrives at the warehouse shortly after and finds a Akemi who reveals to him the existence of the crime syndicate Black Organization before dying. After the police arrive, Conan promises to himself that he will take down the Organization.

"The Girl from the Black Organization and the University Professor Murder Case2 hrs." January 4, 129 — "Kuro no Soshiki Kara Kita Onna Daigaku Kyōju 1999 Satsujin Jiken" (黒の組織から来た女大学教授殺人事件)

Conan's class receives a new student named Ai Haibara. After school, a boy named Toshiya asks the Detective Boys to find his missing brother. The Detective Boys along with Haibara investigate Toshiya's house and finds a painting of Natsume Sōseki. Toshiya reveals that before his brother disappeared, a woman, who had an interest in that portrait, approached Toshiya. The Detective Boys search around town to ask whether anyone has seen the woman or Toshiya's brother. Conan notices that a man was using a counterfeit ¥1000 and realizes Toshiya's brother was kidnapped and forced to help create counterfeit bills. After following the man along with the clues Toshiya's brother left behind, they are able to apprehend the organized crime group and save Toshiya's brother. On the way home, Haibara reveals that she betrayed the Black Organization and escaped with the use of the APTX 4869 which caused her to become a child. She reveals that she accidentally sent a floppy disk containing data on the Black Organization to her sister which is now in the possession of her sister's professor, Masami Hirota. Agasa takes the two there to retrieve it only to realize that Hirota has been murdered. The suspects are Hirota's three students who visited that day. Conan reveals the culprit to be Akira Shirokura; Shirokura after bludgeoning Hirota to death tied the answering machine cassette tape around the key to the room which rewound when a call was made and subsequently bringing the key into the room. As evidence, Conan reveals that Shirokura's fingerprints should be found on the tape. Haibara breaks down and asks Conan why he could not save her sister, Akemi, from the Black Organization. Later that day, Haibara attempts to read the files off the disk only to have a virus delete all the data.

"The Indiscriminate Threatening Stadium Case (Part 1)" January 130 — "Kyougijou Musabetsu Kyouhaku Jiken (Zenpen)" (競 11, 1999 技場無差別脅迫事件(前編)) The Detective Boys are at attending a soccer stadium match when Conan notices someone shot a ball with a handgun. The police arrive and Conan learns that a culprit called the TV director demanding a ransom or else he will begin shooting at people from inside the crowd. Conan realizes there are two culprits, one with the gun and one observing and calling the director. The police ambush a culprit when he goes after the money but his partner threatens to release his partner or he will begin the massacre.

"The Indiscriminate Threatening Stadium Case (Part 2)" January 131 — "Kyōgijō Musabetsu Kyōhaku Jiken (Kōhen)" (競技場 18, 1999 無差別脅迫事件(後編))

The caller demands 1¥ billion in exchange for calling the police. Conan, knowing that it is impossible to gather that amount of money in a short time, concludes the caller plans to murder someone regardless of the money. As they scan the cameras for suspicious people in the crowd, Conan realizes the culprit is a cameraman and goes to confront him. The culprit reveals his bank robbery for foiled by the TV station resulting in his wife's suicide. He intends to kill someone and put the blame on the station as revenge. Conan apprehends the criminal by kicking a soccer ball at his head. In the end, Haibara compliments Conan's work and reveals she is only one year older than him.

"Magic Lover's Murder Case (The Murder)" January 132 — "Kijutsu Aikōka Satsujin Jiken (Jikenhen)" (奇術愛好家 25, 1999 殺人事件(事件篇))

Sonoko invites Ran, to attend a meeting full of avid magic fans she met online. After dropping her off at the snow lounge, Conan and Kogoro return home. During the ride, they hear on the radio that one of the members, Tatsuo Nashiyama, is found dead in his home and that his dying message was the name Dark Master, one of the members of the club. Conan rushes back to the lounge only to find out the only bridge across is on fire. Conan rushes through the bridge before it collapses and arrives at the lounge. Toshiya Hamano is later found dead ten metres from the lounge. Conan wonders how the murder was done since no footprint was found in the snow.

"Magic Lover's Murder Case (The Suspicion)" February 133 — "Kijutsu Aikōka Satsujin Jiken (Giwakuhen)" (奇術愛好 1, 1999 家殺人事件(疑惑篇))

The members of the lounge decide to leave the Hamano's body untouched to preserve the crime scene and retreat back into the lounge. They discuss among themselves and believe that the club member with the Username Dark Master is the murderer. Conan, Ran, Kihisae Tanaka, and Katsuki Doi, head upstairs to retrieve a sweater. While upstairs, an arrow breaks through the window and almost hits them. At the same time, another arrow breaks through the window on the bottom floor. The people of the lounge head outside to investigate and find a crossbow on the ground. The people begin to believe that the culprit is an outsider of the club. Conan investigates and notices that there was evidence that something was stapled to the outside of the house. Conan realizes how the murders are done.

"Magic Lover's Murder Case (The Resolution)" February 134 — "Kijutsu Aikōka Satsujin Jiken (Kaiketsuhen)" (奇術愛 8, 1999 好家殺人事件(解決篇))

Conan recreates the crossbow attack on the top floor and lures everyone outside. Using a tranquilizer, Conan knocks Sonoko out and reveals the culprit to be Kihisae Tanaka. Conan reveals that the crossbow incident was simple, Kihisae pulled a string with an object at the end to break the window, and fired a concealed crossbow to create the idea the attack was coming from the outside. She did the same for the bottom window but had the arrow stuck to the mirror prepared beforehand. As for Hamano's murder, Kihisae strangled him, and using resilient strings, fired them from the balcony to the forest until there was enough to support Hamano's weight. She then tied a string around Hamano's body and used the positioned string to slide the body downwards. She then tied all the strings into another arrow and fired it off. As evidence, Conan reveals that the arrows were specialized to have string connected to them and that they should be found on Tanaka's body somewhere. Tanaka confesses to the murder and reveals that the group members online prompted her grandfather, a famous magician, to attempt a dangerous trick which resulted in his death. Conan meanwhile confronts Katsuki Doi and reveals that his name is the anagram for Kaito Kid. Kaito reveals that he saw that someone was on the magician's account and wanted to investigate it and escapes the lounge with the use of his hang glider.

The Detective Boys accompany Ayumi to Mitsue Mika's, her barber, apartment for a haircut. They discover that Mika died after being strangled by an unknown culprit. While the police investigate, Conan notices the blue plastic on Mika's neck and realizes she was strangled with a clothes hanger. Conan is certain Mika's boss, Futou Midori, is the murderer but lacks the evidence to prove it. The Detective Boys search for the hanger and find out that a crow has taken it to make a nest. The police then convict Midori for Mika's murder. Midori reveals that Mika was going to abandon her to pursue a higher career even though Midori was the one who trained her to be a barber. Later that day, the Detective Boys are attacked by crows who seek revenge for the stolen hanger. "The Old Blue Castle Investigation Case (Part 1)" February 136 "Ao no Kojō Tansaku Jiken (Zenpen)" (青の古城探索事件(前編)) 22, 1999

The Detective Boys are on a camping trip but Professor Agasa forgot the tent. They then wander to a castle owned by an old mistress and learn that there's a secret treasure in the castle. Conan finds a clue to the treasure and enters a secret passage but is attacked by an unknown assailant. Agasa and Ai realize that something has happened to Conan. Agasa is about to phone the police to investigate but upon seeing a secret agent, is knocked out by the same culprit.

"The Old Blue Castle Investigation Case (Part 2)" March 1, 137 "Ao no Kojō Tansaku Jiken (Kōhen)" (青の古城探索事件(後編)) 1999

When nighttime comes, Ai investigates freely and is accompanied by the Detective Boys. They enter the same secret passage as Conan did and wander out of another secret entrance. Genta remains trapped in the passage and captured by the culprit. Mitsuhiko investigates the doorway to the castle's tower and disappears. Ai and Ayumi investigate the abandoned tower of the castle and find the culprit using a secret entrance connected to the castle. They find a corpse and realize who the culprit is pretending to be, the mistress. When Ai and Ayumi were coming out from under a floor tile, the culprit grabs on and tries to kill them. Then Conan, Mitsuhiko, and Genta appear. After re-uniting with the everyone, Conan reveals the location of the treasure. The treasure was the castle, and a beautiful scene. The culprit breaks down realizing that they wasted 10 years and killed a huge number of people just for this. The culprit is captured.

"The Final Screening Murder Case (Part 1)" March 8, 138 "Saigo no Jouei Satsujin Jiken (Zenpen)" (最後の上映殺人事件(前 1999 編))

The Detective Boys attend the final opening day of a theatre as it is about to be demolished. They plan to watch three films of Gomera, a parody of Godzilla. During the second film, the man who bought and planned the demolishing of the theatre is found hanged. The four suspects are the theatre clerk, a photographer, theatre manager, and projector technician. The episode ends with Mitsuhiko proclaiming he saw the theatre clerk looking at herself in the mirror.

"The Final Screening Murder Case (Part 2)" March 15, 139 "Saigo no Jouei Satsujin Jiken (Kōhen)" (最後の上映殺人事件(後編)) 1999

After continuing the investigation, Conan finds out the clue to this murder is the mirrors. After solving the case, the culprit is taken away. The culprit before he leaves asks to finish the final screening of the theatre for the Detective Boys. In the end, the director decides not to sell the theatre, as the children reminded him the magic of theatres. "SOS! Message from Ayumi!" April 12, 140 "SOS! Ayumi Kara no Messeiji" (SOS!歩美からのメッセージ) 1999

There is a burglar on the loose! But Ayumi is sick so she stays home. When a burglar invades her house, she tries using the detective badge to call for help. Ayumi uses her alarmclock to communicate a code to the Detective Boys. Conan realizes that a burglar is in her home and Conan manages to stop him with the Detective Boys.

"The Night Before the Wedding Locked Room Case (Part 1)" April 19, 141 "Kekkon Zenya no Misshitsu Jiken (Zenpen)" (結婚前夜の密室事件 1999 (前編))

Heiji and Kazuha visit Tokyo accompanied by Mouri, Ran, and Conan. They run into Heiji's father's friend and are invited to their mansion. There a murder occurs and his father's friend is found dead in a locked room. It seems he was dragged to another room after being stabbed in the heart.

"The Night Before the Wedding Locked Room Case (Part 2)" April 26, 142 "Kekkon Zenya no Misshitsu Jiken (Kōhen)" (結婚前夜の密室事件 1999 (後編))

Continuing the investigation, Heiji proclaims the butler was the murderer and he is taken away, screaming his innocence. Late that night, an unknown man takes the murder weapon and tries to place it in a bag, but is caught by Heiji and Conan who reveal that they placed the blame on the butler to lure out the true culprit. The culprit reveals that he murdered the man because he tried to cancel the wedding and take his love away from him.

"The Suspicious Astronomical Observation" 143 May 3, 1999 "Giwaku no Tentaikansoku" (疑惑の天体観測)

Ran, Sonoko, and Conan go to watch the stars. Sonoko is especially hoping that she will see a shooting star. Ran has a friend at the observatory that helps her use a telescope; he introduces his sempais that work at the observatory. One of them just one an award known as the "Star Pioneer". However, that same night, that same person falls from the higher level of the observatory. Conan knows that this isn't an accident - but how can he prove it?

"The North Star No. 3 Express Leaving Ueno (Part 1)" May 10, 144 "Ueno-hatsu Hokutosei Sango (Zenpen)" (上野発北斗星 3 号(前編)) 1999

Conan, Kogoro, and Ran take the overnight North Star Express to Hokkaido to meet a former client. On the train, they meet up with a series of people. However, in the night, a murder case occurs when a burglar seemingly kills a jewelry trader, and escapes through the window. The train stops to find his dead body outside. Conan noticed that the plot is very similar to an unpublished novel written by his father that had been stolen ten years before. However, unable to contact Kudo Yuusaku, Conan takes the case into his own hands, and finds his mother on the train.

"The North Star No. 3 Express Leaving Ueno (Part 2)" May 17, 145 "Ueno-hatsu Hokutosei Sango (Kōhen)" (上野発北斗星 3 号(後編)) 1999

Conan reveals to the suspicious woman that he knows her identity - it is Kudo Yukiko, his mother, in disguise. As they discuss the case, Kogoro calls all the passengers to witness his inaccurate deduction, enabling Conan to figure out the trick. However, a worried Conan recalls that in the novel, the detective boy who solved the case was murdered by the trap he set for the criminal. Yukiko volunteers to act as a decoy to help him find the proof. When the train lands at Sapporo Station, however, Conan and Yukiko are separated and the criminal moves, intending to push her onto the tracks. Yuusaku appears just in time and reveals the trick and his own identity to the criminal, who had idolized his work.

"Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story (Part 1)" May 24, 146 "Honchō no Keiji Koi Monogatari (Zenpen)" (本庁の刑事恋物語(前 1999 編))

The detective boys go to the police station who are trying to figure out who robbed a nearby bank. The man who owns the bank phones his wife, then gives the phone to one of the officers. Suddenly, the woman screams and she is then found dead in her house with a wound from a knife. Conan thinks that these two cases are related - did the robbers kill the wife because she recognized one of them? He sees the man smiling at his wife's dead body.

Conan gives the police small clues and they eventually find out that the man killed his own wife and staged the robbery to his own bank.

"The Sudden Street Car Stopping Case" June 7, 148 "Rōmen Densha Kyūteishi Jiken" (路面電車急停止事件) 1999

Conan and the Detective Boys wake up at 5:30 in the morning to go get in line for a roller coaster ride. There are only three other people on the train at that time, and they plan on going there in order to take pictures of the train. One of the photographers waits outside so he can take pictures of the train coming towards him; suddenly, the ladder underneath him tips over and he falls onto the track. The train conductor quickly applies the emergency brakes, and everybody rushes out of the train to find him unhurt. However, when Conan comes back into the train to continue their journey, they find one of the other photographers dead. How can Conan make the officer in charge of the case see sense that this was a murder, not an accident?

"The Amusement Park Bungee Jumping Case" June 21, 149 "Yūenchi Banjii Jiken" (遊園地パンジー事件) 1999

At an amusement park, an accident occurs during a Kamen Yaiba playing. As Yaiba jumped from a bungee cord, the cord burns and he falls into the water. 20 minutes later, he is found dead. Conan realizes that the Yaiba who jumped was the criminal who killed the Yaiba actor beforehand. The culprit reveals he did so because he was told he could not act as Yaiba.

"The Truth of the Exploding Car Case (Part 1)" June 28, 150 "Jidōsha Bakuhatsu Jiken no Shinsō (Zenpen)" (自動車爆発事件の 1999 真相(前編))

Mouri reveals that he tutored in his youth, and resolves to meet up with one of his students. However, when they go see her, her car suddenly explodes as her sister drives it out of the driveway. Mouri is determined to solve the case and find the murderer as soon as possible. At the end, he appears to solve the case, but Conan believes there is a little more to it than the simple explanation he gives.

"The Truth of the Exploding Car Case (Part 2)" 151 "Jidōsha Bakuhatsu Jiken no Shinsō (Kōhen)" (自動車爆発事件の真 July 5, 1999 相(後編))

With some prodding by Conan, Mouri surprisingly finds the truth of the case himself. He confronts the criminal, and with some help from Conan, he overcomes his ideals and gets to the heart of the matter.

"The Mysterious Old Man Disappearance Case" July 12, 152 "Nazo no Rōjin Shissō Jiken" (謎の老人失踪事件) 1999

While on the bus home, Ran meets an old man who later disappears. Later she finds a MO disk in her purse with secret information about fraud involving several companies. Conan realizes the old man must've been followed and captured. After Sonoko is kidnapped, Conan manages to find out where the culprits are hiding, and saves her and the old man.

"Sonoko's Dangerous Summer Story (Part 1)" July 19, 153 "Sonoko no Abunai Natsumonogatari (Zenpen)" (園子のアブない 1999 夏物語(前編))

While at the beach ran and sonoko in bikinis, meets a man, and they meet up with Conan and Ran. Later, Sonoko is targeted by a killer who attacks brown-haired girls. Was he after her for a reason, or was she just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Two suspects consist of a young man with glasses and a fat man who has been following her.

"Sonoko's Dangerous Summer Story (Part 2)" July 26, 154 "Sonoko no Abunai Natsumonogatari (Kōhen)" (園子のアブない夏 1999 物語(後編))

Sonoko falls asleep in the car, and someone puts it in drive. Conan and Ran rescue her from going off the cliff with the car. Later, they encounter the mysterious fat man who chases them in the woods. They end up splitting up. Conan goes with Ran, and Sonoko goes with her boyfriend who turns out to be the killer! Conan attempts a rescue, but someone else beats him to the punch, literally.

"The Key in the Water Locked Room Case" August 2, 155 "Suichū no Kagi Misshitsu Jiken" (水中の鍵密室事件) 1999

Detective Mori, Ran, and Conan pay a visit to an old woman. She decides to take them to her grandson, but he's found dead when they get into the house. The bathroom door is locked however. How could this have happened? Rather than use detective Mouri for the case, Conan solves this one as himself.

"Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 2 (Part 1)" August 9, 156 "Honchō no Keiji Koi Monogatari 2 (Zenpen)" (本庁の刑事恋物語 1999 2(前編))

Sato is chasing a murderer through the school building where the Detective Boys are in. After cornering him, she accidentally handcuffs him to her between a toilet handle, trapping them. The man proclaims he is innocent and that needs to get on a plane tomorrow to attend his daughter's wedding. She tells Takagi to solve the case before the time and not to inform the police. The Tokyo police department send out a massive manhunt for the suspect, Sato, and Takagi.

"Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 2 (Part 2)" August 16, 157 "Honchō no Keiji Koi Monogatari 2 (Kōhen)" (本庁の刑事恋物語 1999 2(後編))

With the help of the Detective Boys, the case is solved. However, the building Sato and the suspect is trapped in is about to be blown up. With all the ruckus of the people, they are unable to warn Agasa who created a special bomb called Tropical Rainbow, a bomb that explodes with all the colors of the rainbow. Conan manages to knock Agasa out before he pushes the button to demolish the building. Takagi is also extremely relieved when he finds out that Sato only sees Inspector Megure as a fatherly figure. "The Silent Ring Line" August 23, 158 "Chinmoku no Kanjosen" (沈黙の環状線) 1999

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are waiting for the train when they notice a group of people leaving work on a Sunday. Once they boarded the train the group finds their co- worker dead in an empty train car. After all three are presented as possible suspects Conan notices a couple of clues, there is a mark on her ear and a line on her arm. Before long Conan stuns Mouri and reveals who did it and the evidence used to prove their guilt,

"Bizarre! The Legend of the Five Storied Pagoda (Part September 159 1)" 6, 1999 "Kaiki Gojūnotō Densetsu (Zenpen)" (怪奇五重塔伝説(前編))

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are visitors at the 5 story pagoda. After running into the manager, they are invited out to dinner as guest of the temple on him, thanks to the Great Detective Mouri. The morning after hearing the legend of 5 story pagoda, the manager (who was planning on turning it into a tourist attraction) turns up dead, hanging from the top floor, in a fashion mimicing the legend. Suspicions point to suicide as the means of death. Conan spots the manager's tie clip at the end of the episode and knows it was murder, and only one of four people could be responsible.

"Bizarre! The Legend of the Five Storied Pagoda (Part September 160 2)" 13, 1999 "Kaiki Gojūnotō Densetsu (Kōhen)" (怪奇五重塔伝説(後編))

More evidence presents itself as Conan notices there are burn marks on the rope used to hang him, and also a slip knot tied. In addition, there was not enough length in the rope meaning, he would have needed to jumped into the noose to commit suicide. Right before the poilce detective was going to call it a suicide case, Conan stuns Mouri and reveals the method in which the murder was committed, followed by the key piece of evidence to prove who the murderer was.

"The Murder Floating in Ryusuitei" September 161 "Ryūsuitei ni Nagareru Satsui" (流水亭に流れる殺意) 20, 1999

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are at a fancy traditional Japanese restaurant where food is delivered on a small computer controlled boat that navigates over a running stream around the restaurant. Later, a murder occurs and Conan realizes the only way it could have been possible was for a person to be alone, and to use the stream to access the room. Conan later reveals that the murderer hid in the boats and came out to murder the victim. The culprit explained how he was blackmailed by the victim who demanded a large payment from him. "The Sealed Chamber in the Sky! Shinichi Kudo's First Case1 hr." September 162 "Sora Tobu Misshitsu Kudō Shinichi Saisho no Jiken" (空飛ぶ密室 27, 1999 工藤新一最初の事件)

Agasa wins a trip to a beach resort and gives the tickets to Kogoro, Ran, and the Detective Boys. On the plane, Ran falls asleep and dreams about a murder that occurred on an Airliner. In the past, a photographer named Kazuhiro Ootaka is found dead in the bathroom. Shinichi reveals that Ootaka was put to sleep and was killed by having a thin metal object dipped in poison and having it injected into the back of his head. Megure gathers four people who have entered the bathroom during that time and search them for a weapon but to no avail. After a thorough investigation, Shinichi reveals Tsugumi Amano, Ootaka's girlfriend to be the murderer. Shinichi reveals that Amano used a sharpened brassiere wire to commit the murder. Agasa takes the Detective Boys to his uncles house which has been abandoned fifty years ago for a treasure hunt he had set up. Conan finds a 1 yen coin and reveals to Agasa that those coins were not produced until forty years ago and that someone had been living in the abandoned house. Conan investigates and finds evidence that an old man who spent his spare time carving coins lived in the house. Conan notices that someone has drawn strange codes on objects throughout the house. The codes are symbols consisting of the moon, star, and sun. The Detective Boys manage to find their treasure and realize that someone had destroyed them all. Conan deduces that an unknown culprit entered the house in search of some kind of treasure and was angered when Agasa's riddles lead him to a box of toys. Conan and the Detective Boys gather all the objects in the house with the strange codes on them and attempts to solve it. Agasa reveals that his aunt was receiving letters in the same code and that he had Yusaku Kudo decipher the message; He also reveals that when his aunt began receiving those letters, someone was looking through her mail. Conan realizes the symbols refer to Hiragana and that the culprit who was looking through Agasa's aunt's mail is the one who destroyed the toys and is searching for the treasure in the house.

"The Secret of the Moon, the Star, and the Sun (Part 2)" October 18, 164 "Tsuki to Hoshi to Taiyō no Himitsu (Kōhen)" (月と星と太陽の秘密 1999 (後編))

Conan matches the symbols to the Hiragana table and reveals that the symbols in the objects direct to other objects in the room. Conan notices that the objects conjoin in the center of room and realizes it refers to the chandelier. Conan matches the markings on the chandeliers which causes a stairway to the attic to appear. The Detective Boys find a skeleton of an elderly man in the attic. Conan reveals that man was the one who created the code and was sending the mail to Agasa's aunt. Conan finds a 20 dollar plate used for creating counterfeit money and explains that the man was hiding from the person who forced him to create plates. The culprit reveals himself and says that he had been searching the mansion for the plate for many years and attempts to steal it from them. Conan however apprehends the criminal and he is arrested afterwards.

The Detective Boys are in a puppeteer camping trip, where they are practicing for a school puppet play. At the same time, a serial killer has been spotted near the areas of the camp. While at the camp, the students disappear with their puppets, leaving the Detective boys alone. Mitsuhiko assumes that their teacher is the serial killer. After they disspear, only Mitsuhiko remains alone. After being cornered by the teacher, Mitsuhiko finds out they decided to scare him for being bossy, by the suggestions of Genta and Ayumi. Mitsuhiko runs away angrily but runs into the serial killer. Conan manages to stop the serial killer and he is arrested. Later, Ayumi kisses Mitsuhiko for playing that mean joke on him.

"Tottori Spider Mansion Demon (The Murder)" November 166 "Tottori Kumo-yashiki no Kai (Jikenhen)" (鳥取クモ屋敷の怪(事件 1, 1999 編))

Mouri and Heiji are hired to solve the case of murders in a mansion deemed the spider god. Apparently, his victims are always found hanged. Afterwards, they find a man hanged.

Conan and Heiji cooperate to reveal the murderer's identity and his trick. Robert is the murderer, driven by hatred towards the people who didn't stop the girl he loved from committing suicide. Sadly, he eventually realised that his own leaving message caused his beloved's death.

Mouri is invited to an aquarium where an underwater play is to take place, A woman's dead body rises from the water when it's her cue to come out of a clam's shell in the play. Conan solves the case and the culprit reveals it was revenge for the murder of his wife.

"The Blind Spot in the Darkness (Part 1)" November 170 "Kurayami no Naka no Shikaku (Zenpen)" (暗闇の中の死角(前編)) 29, 1999 A blackout occurs and a man is found dead in his bath tub. Ran is also acting strange around Tomoaki Araide and Conan wonders whether she's in love with him.

Ran, Sonoko, and Conan are at Tropical Land ice skating. A murder occurs in the women's bathroom and there are two dying messages, S smeared in blood and the victims phone revealing the letters KIX.

"The Revival of the Dying Message (Part 2)" December 173 "Yomigaeru Shi no Dengon (Kōhen)" (よみがえる死の伝言(後編)) 20, 1999

Conan solves the case and reveals that the culprit imitated the fireworks noise as it came too early. He reveals that the S was not the real code, but the phone was. He then revealed the final clue that the culprit is the murderer.

"The 20 Year Old Murder Case: The Symphony Serial Murders2 hrs." January 3, 174 "Nijuunenme no Satsui Shinfoniigou Renzoku Satsujin Jiken" (20 2000 年目の殺意シンフォニー号連続殺人事件)

A man is shot to death by his subordinates, they call themselves the Organizer of Shadows. Twenty years later, Conan helps Ran and Mouri solve a puzzle which wins them an all-expense-paid trip on a giant boat built for a small number of people. After 11 people have entered the boat, the boat leaves. Mouri meets an inspector he use to work with on the boat and meet up with Heiji Hattori. After a man is murdered, they learn a man named Kanoi who was the leader of the Organizer of Shadows is on the boat. After a bombing, and discovering two dead bodies, Conan solves the case, realizing there were two separate culprits; one as the bomber, and one as the murderer. They were part of the Organizer of Shadows.

"The Man Who Was Killed Four Times" January 10, 175 "Yonkai Korosareta Otoko" (四回殺された男) 2000

Kogorou is called to investigate a suspicious murder where three people admit to killing a man for hitting him on the head. His posture showed the death to be a heart attack. They are all actors in an actor studio, their boss was the manager. After seeing the evidence, they find out that all four of them have attacked him but not killed him. He was killed by his wife who stole his heart pills and he died of a heart attack.

"Meeting with the Black Organization Again (Haibara Part)" January 17, 176 "Kuro no Soshiki to no Saikai (Haibara-hen)" (黒の組織との再会(灰 2000 原編))

On the way home from school, Conan and Haibara find Gin's Porsche 356 on the street and places a covert listening device in it. Conan hears that a Black Organization member codenamed Pisco is ordered to assassinate someone at a party hosted at Haido Hotel. Gin finds a strand of Haibara's hair in the car and manages to find the bug and destroys it; He realizes Shiho will be at the hotel and orders Pisco to kill her when he gets the chance. Conan and Haibara head to the hotel in order to capture Pisco. During a slide show, Pisco manages to murder his target, a lawyer named Shigehiko Nomiguchi, by causing a chandelier to fall onto of him.

"Meeting with the Black Organization Again (Conan Part)" January 24, 177 "Kuro no Soshiki to no Saikai (Conan-hen)" (黒の組織との再会(コナ 2000 ン編))

Conan investigates and reveals to Haibara that the purple handkerchief will narrow down the suspects. Conan explains that the party is holding an event that is dedicated to a film known as "The Rainbow Handkerchief"; all the party guests are given various handkerchiefs with colors of the rainbow and that Pisco is one of the people in the purple handkerchief group. When the party guests rush out of the room in a panic, Haibara is knocked unconscious by Pisco and awakens in a locked wine storage room. Conan contacts Haibara through a communication device and tells her he had the police hold up the seven suspects which will buy her time to escape. Conan tells Haibara to drink some wine which when combined with her cold will negate the effects of to APTX 4869 and subsequently allowing her to regress back into her teenage self, Shiho Miyano. Meanwhile, Gin and Vodka enter the hotel and make their way to the storage room.

"Meeting with the Black Organization Again (Resolution)" January 31, 178 "Kuro no Soshiki to no Saikai (Kaiketsuhen)" (黒の組織との再会(解 2000 決編))

Shiho climbs to the top of the chimney only to be confronted by Gin and Vodka. Gin explains that he heard her breathing in the chimney while in the storage room and was waiting to ambush her on the roof. Gin prepares to kill her Shiho is saved when Conan intervenes - changing his voice so they will not recognize him later; allowing Shiho to fall down the chimney and back into the storage room before becoming a child again. Pisco prepares to kill Haibara before he is interrupted by Conan who greets him as Kenzou Matsuyama the party guest. Conan reveals that Matsuyama lured Nomiguichi under the chandelier during the slide show and fired a silenced handgun at a fluorescence painted section of the chandelier causing it to kill Nomiguichi. Conan asks how Matsuyama was able to get a purple handkerchief after losing his but Matsuyama refuses to answer the question. Matsuyama's cigarette mixed with the wine in the storage room causes a fire and allows Conan and Haibara to escape. Gin confronts Matsuyama and explains that a journalist had taken a picture of Matsuyama committing the crime; To keep the Organization a secret, Gin kills Matsuyama. Shortly after, Gin and Vodka are seen with a third Black Organization member codenamed Belmont.

"The Coffee Shop Truck's Wild Entrance Case" February 7, 179 "Kissaten Torakku Rannyuu Jiken" (喫茶店トラック乱入事件) 2000

Conan and the group go to a coffee shop. Nearby, two men are having a meeting. One of them gets up to go to the bathroom, and while he's gone, a truck slams into the coffee shop and smashes the other man who was still seated. Conan realizes it was a planned murder and finds evidence through the truck, and the man's cut.

"The Nocturne of Red Murderous Intent (Part 1)" February 180 "Akai Satsui no Nocturne (Zenpen)" (赤い殺意の夜想曲(前編)) 14, 2000

Mouri is invited to investigate a case where a man's wife is being stalked by an unknown stalker. Conan realizes these occurrences are related to the song Nocturne of Red. During a party, a blackout occurs and a man's figure is seen embracing his wife forcibly. Afterwards he disappears. Later a famous musicianship is seemingly killed by the client.

"The Nocturne of Red Murderous Intent (Part 2)" February 181 "Akai Satsui no Nocturne (Kōhen)" (赤い殺意の夜想曲(後編)) 21, 2000

The case is solved, the mysterious man was figured out to be a statue hanged by a fishing rod. The culprit was revealed to be the man's wife, who wanted to protect the company and her husband from a scandal. Afterwards, Conan gives Ran flowers. Ran interprets the flower's with the meaning Invincible and gets angry at Conan.

"The Big Investigation of the Nine Doors" February 182 "Daisousaku no Kokonotsu no Doa" (大捜索 9 つのドア) 28, 2000

The Detective Boys are walking home one day when they discover two s shaped hooks and a ring with the initials M to A, a wedding ring. They decide to investigate seeing it as an S.O.S. After a false alarm, Conan realizes one of the person who answered the door was not the actual person. He tranquilizers the culprit and saves the woman who was tied up.

"A Dangerous Recipe" March 6, 183 "Kiken na Reshipi" (危険なレシピ) 2000

One day, The detective boys were bored so they picked up receipts in a convenience store to guess what the people are buying for dinner. Genta picks up a weird receipt with food items, a dust bin, a container, a handler light, rechargeable batteries, thin lytax gloves, and chlorine. Conan figures out the man is trying to make the same poisoned bait used to kill moles. After searching around town to the stores they visit, they find out the approximation of the man's house and begin searching for bikes with handler lights and no basket. After finding him and following him one night, they find out he was trying to poison a dog to death. His motive was to silence the vicious and loud dog so he may once again walk his favorite path in peace.

"A Cursed Mask Coldly Laughs1 hr." March 13, 184 "Noroi no Kamen wa Tsumetaku Warau" (呪いの仮面は冷たく笑う) 2000

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are invited by the hostess of a car accident charity named Shou Beniko. While driving, they find a message from the Phantom of the Cursed Masks who tells them they should not go. Once there, they find other famous celebrities; a baseball player, a prophet, a rockstar, and a man who lost his wife in a Hit and Run incident. The mansion they will be staying at is a huge mansion divided by the east and west side; and the only room connecting the two sides is the mask room, which is locked at midnight due to Shobel's mask. They were created by a famous man who lost everything and became engrossed in his masks; once he created 200 of them, he was found dead in his room surrounded with bloody masks. People who have owned his mask have suffered tragic fates. Shou who now owns all 200 masks has a priest place a seal on the curse, but the room will locked at midnight to prevent them from wandering. During their stay, Shou was murdered in a locked room with masks surrounding her and a dagger in her throat. Conan later figures out the trick and reveals the culprit. The culprit reveals that his mother was blamed for a hit and run incident and murdered by Shou, who then took fame and profit from her charity.

"The Murdered Famous Detective (Part 1)" April 10, 185 "Korosareta Meitantei (Zenpen)" (殺された名探偵(前編)) 2000

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are driving by when an arrow almost hits Mouri. Afterwards, they stay at a hotel when an actor is found dead with a bullet in his head and all the evidence suggests it is the work of an outsider.

"The Murdered Famous Detective (Part 2)" April 17, 186 "Korosareta Meitantei (Kōhen)" (殺された名探偵(後編)) 2000 Conan later solves the case by showing how the culprit tried to place false evidence to lure the police to think it was an outsider. He later shows that a gun was not used to shoot the bullet but an arrow was. The culprit is arrested and he reveals he wanted to write a perfect crime script that no one could solve. Afterwards, Mouri is offered a chance to star in his own show but Ran forces him to drive away before a deal could be made.

"The Mysterious Gun Rings in the Dark" April 24, 187 "Yami ni Hibiku Nazo no Juusei" (闇に響く謎の銃声) 2000

Mouri is invited to a house as to impress the client's mother who is a finance trader, simply a loaner. Later, loaner is murdered and with the clues, the suspects are her son, daughter, or maid. Conan manages to solve the case and reveals the television was used to create the gunshot noise.

"The Desperate Revival ~The Cavern of the Detective Boys~" 188 May 1, 2000 "Inochigake no Fukkatsu ~Doukutsu no Tantei-dan~" (命がけの復活〜洞窟の探偵団〜)

Ran's strange behavior causes Conan to suspect that she knows his identity as Shinichi. Later on, the Detective Boys are taken by Agasa on a camping trip. The Detective Boys explore a cave only to find bank robbers hiding a dead body. Conan manages to hide the Detective Boys but is shot in the process. With the entrance guarded by the robbers, Conan, carried by Genta, leads the Detective Boys deeper into the cave to find another entrance. As they navigate through the cave, they come upon a monument of an egg with the message "Those who are lost in the dark, take your steps towards the path of the dragon, then you shall be showered by the light of happiness." Conan explains that the monument explains which of the five paths ahead shall lead them to the outside and passes out from his injury before he could point them to the right direction.

"The Desperate Revival ~The Wounded Great Detective~" 189 May 8, 2000 "Inochigake no Fukkatsu ~Fushoushita Meitantei~" (命がけの復活〜負傷した名探偵〜)

The Detective Boys realize that the riddle is a reference to Shogi and that the dragon refers to a promoted rook. They take the direction a rook is placed on the Shogi board and escape the cave. The robbers are then apprehended by the authorities and Conan is taken to a hospital. At the hospital, the nurse reveals to Conan's friends that they ran out of Conan's blood type. Ran allows them to use her blood for Conan's blood transfusion and subsequently reveals that she knows Conan is Shinichi. A few days after Conan's surgery, Conan decides to tell Ran his true identity as Shinichi. Later that night, Haibara enters Conan's room and holds a gun towards him.

"The Desperate Revival ~The Third Choice~" May 15, 190 "Inochigake no Fukkatsu ~Daisan no Sentaku~" (命がけの復活〜 2000 第三の選択〜)

Haibara reveals the gun was a fake and reminds Conan the threat that the Black Organization poses. Since Ran knows Conan's identity, hiding it from her would be cruel but telling her would endanger the lives of everyone around him. Haibara gives Conan a third choice that can solve the problem. The next day, Conan attends Ran's play where a Ran and a mysterious black knight are the main characters. During the play a man named Kouhei Mazuda dies from potassium cyanide ingestion. Heiji, disguised as Shinichi, attempts to trick Ran but is discovered by Kazuha. After removing his disguise Heiji concludes that the suspects are Mazuda's friends and the drink vendor.

"The Desperate Revival ~The Black Knight~" May 22, 191 "Inochigake no Fukkatsu ~Kokui no Kishi~" (命がけの復活〜黒衣の 2000 騎士〜)

The police are unable to find the source of the poison from the drinks. As they are able to rule the death as a suicide, the black knight declares it was a murder and reveals his identity to be Shinichi. Shinichi reveals that the poison was placed in the ice cubes and that Mazuda had a habit of eating ice. He reveals the murderer to be Mazuda's friend, Mai Kougami. Shinichi explains that Mai kept the ice cubes in a little purse which was kept cool through dry ice. Mai says that she bought the same drink as Mazuda and that there was only a fifty percent chance that he would take the drink with the poisoned ice cubes. Shinichi explains she put ice cubes in both drinks and that after emptying her drink, she placed the poisoned ice cubes in her hood evidenced when a 10 yen coin undergoes a chemical reaction with contact to her hood. Mai confesses and explains that Mazuda murdered his patient in order to have his medical thesis published. Shinichi collapses after solving the case and wakes up and realizes he still retains he is still Shinichi and has not regressed back to Conan.

"The Desperate Revival ~Shinichi's Return...~" May 29, 192 "Inochigake no Fukkatsu ~Kaette kita Shinichi...~" (命がけの復活 2000 〜帰ってきた新一...〜)

The next day, Shinichi takes Ran to a fancy restaurant in order to confess his love. Meanwhile, a man named Satorou Ooba kisses his girlfriend. When the elevator opens up behind her, he shoots and murders, Taiji Tatsumi, his boss and his girlfriend's father in law. Before Shinichi could confess, he investigates the murder and realizes Ooba is the murderer. "The Desperate Revival ~The Promised Place~" June 5, 193 "Inochigake no Fukkatsu ~Yakusoku no Basho~" (命がけの復活〜 2000 約束の場所〜)

Shinichi confirms Ooba to be the murderer and reveals that he used a glove and plastic bag so his cloths would not be stained with gunpowder. He reveals that the plastic bag was hid in a mascot costume and that it contains Ooba's fingerprints. Ooba counters stating that his co-workers also touched the plastic bag. Shinichi reveals that Ooba confessed to the crimes also since he said his girlfriend's earrings were pink yet color is not distinguishable in the dark and thus reveals that Ooba was with his girlfriend when the elevator doors opened. Ooba confesses and reveals that his father's company was destroyed by Tatsumi and prompted his father to suicide. Shinichi escapes to the bathroom and regresses back to Conan. Conan tells Ran that Shinichi left to solve the case and leaves her heartbroken.

A girl named Yuuki Haruna asks Kogoro to search for a man named Shuugo whom she texts with on her pager. She explains that her Shuugo sent her a musical box to help pay for her tuition but she could not bring herself to sell something valuable and wants to return it. Conan notices the music box plays the song "Haru Yo Koi" (よ来い?, lit. "Come Dear Spring") and missed three notes "La, Do, La". After tracing the number on the pager, they visit the Ogata family who reveals that Shuugo was an elderly man who had recently died. The Ogata family reveal that Shuugo hid stamps worth a fortune somewhere and the house and they suspect Haruna is there to take it from them. They allow Kogoro, Ran, Conan, and Haruna to spend the night at their household. During the night, Ran and Haruna witness a shadow of an elderly man fly by, a Koto falls on top of one of the Ogata family members and injures him, and Haruna receives a threatening message on her pager. Conan concludes that one of the Ogata family members wants to scare Haruna away.

"The Significant Music Box (Part 2)" June 19, 195 "Imishin na Orugooru (Kōhen)" (意味深なオルゴール(後編)) 2000

Conan investigates and realizes how the pranks were done and who is attempting to scare Haruna away. After tranquilizing Kogoro, Conan reveals that the shadow was created with the use of black paper tapped to a window. When a moving car light flashes through the window, it creates the shadow of a flying figure. As for the Koto, Conan explains that the Koto was suspended through a very long string which was released by the culprit; As evidence, Conan reveals that a hairpin was found at the door where the string was and the one who opened the door was Kazuko Ogata. Kazuko confesses and explains that she did not want Haruna to have the stamps since her family is currently in need of the money. Conan reveals that the missing music notes reveal the location of the stamps. Conan explains that the missing notes in Solfège are La, Do, La, but in Iroha its I-Ha-I which is referring to Spirit tablet (位牌 Ihai?). A few days after the case, Shirou Ogata reveals that he is in a relationship with Haruna and thanks Kogoro for solving the case.

Ran and Sonoko befriend a couple at a restaurant, but Ran finds the man's act suspicious. The next day Ran takes Conan and Sonoko to their house, Ran learns that the man's wife has an extremely expensive insurance and that he may be trying to wear her body out to kill her. After inspecting the newly built house for Sick building syndrome, Conan finds out that her husband did something to the car. They later catch him spraying poison into the ventilation system of the car. He reveals that his company pressured him along with his want for a car.

Mori, Ran, and Conan attend a car show and Mori is hired to find out where the threatening message comes from. A man is later found in his car fumed poison but there is no enclosed area to poison him with.

"The Super Car's Trap (Part 2)" July 10, 198 "Suupaa Kaa no Wana (Kōhen)" (スーパーカーの罠(後編)) 2000

After investigating, Conan reveals that a cover was used to direct the fume into the car. He reveals who the culprit is. The culprit reveals that the victim scammed him out of his car, which he sent his company almost to bankruptcy to own.

Eri Kisaki meets up with another two lawyers, one male, and the other female. Both attended school with her in the past. Detective Mouri later gets drunk and falls asleep in the bedroom of the female lawyer's room. When they return to the room, she's dead, and the door is locked from the inside, making Detective Mouri the prime suspect.

"Kogoro Mori, Suspect (Part 2)" July 24, 200 "Yougisha - Mōri Kogoro (Kōhen)" (容疑者·毛利小五郎(後編)) 2000

Eri pretends Mouri is the criminal only to fool who she believes to be the real culprit. She and Conan search for clue's to clear his name, and find a way to trick the true culprit into revealing that he's the criminal. Afterwards, Mouri tries to ask Eri to return home with him, since it has been a year after their divorce. Eri pretends not to hear and later at home, listens again to the recording of Mouri's plead for her return.

An accident many years ago which took place on a bus plays a big part in the present. When a man is killed on the bus, Conan learns of an event in the past involving the same exact passengers.

The daughter of the murdered man from many years ago plans to take revenge on all the passengers present during that time. The bus is on a crash- course, and Conan intervenes to confront her about what she's doing. Is there anyway to stop the bus from crashing?

"The Black Wing of Icarus (Part 1)" August 14, 203 "Kuroi Ikarosu no Tsubasa (Zenpen)" (黒いイカロスの翼(前 2000 編))

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are staying at a hotel where they meet the twins from the case of the cursed mask. Later, an actress comes and causes trouble. The next day, she is found hanged in her room.

"The Black Wing of Icarus (Part 2)" August 21, 204 "Kuroi Ikarosu no Tsubasa (Kōhen)" (黒いイカロスの翼(後編)) 2000

Conan notices that this is not a suicide but a murder. He later proves that the culprit hang-glided to the hotel and went back by stowing in the trunk of a car. The culprit reveals that the actress caused his brother to spend much money and indirectly caused his death. He reveals he tried to ask the actress to say a few words on his brother's grave but she refused and he decided to kill her.

"Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 3 (Part 1)" August 28, 205 "Honchou no Keiji Koi Monogatari 3 (Zenpen)" (本庁の刑事恋 2000 物語 3(前編))

A serial arsonist sets huge fires across the city and Takagi and Sato with the Detective Boys are out to solve it. It turns out this is also the day the case of Sato's father's death will be annulled, and the bank robber will be able to keep the money he stole from the bank. Sato sets out to solve both cases before the day ends, but Takagi has been attacked by the arsonist.

"Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 3 (Part 2)" Septembe 206 "Honchou no Keiji Koi Monogatari 3 (Kōhen)" (本庁の刑事恋物 r 4, 2000 語 3(後編))

After Ai reveals the pattern of the arsonist attack, the Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko run into the arsonist who attempts to kill them. Takagi is revealed to be inside the warehouse the arsonist set fire to. He can't break the handcuffs due to them being a momentum from Sato's dead father. Conan manages to arrive in time and stop the arsonist, but does not realize Takagi is in the burning warehouse. Meanwhile, the clock strikes midnight and the suspected bank robber explains everything to Sato, saying how his father saved his life. Sato reveals that due to the typhoon in Italy, the anull date was moved forward by one day. Takagi seemingly dies but appears with his handcuffs attached to the window bars. He collapses in Sato's arms.

"The Deduction That Was Too Good" Septembe 207 "Migoto-sugita Meisuiri" (見事すぎた名推理) r 11, 2000

Mouri is carried by Ran and accompanied by Conan one night picking him up from a bar. While walking they witness a fight in an apartment. The next day a murder occurs. One of the man who's heard arguing comes to Mouri for help to prove his innocence. The man has made good suggestions on where to find evidence which are in fact too good. Conan finds out the man is lying and is trying to trick Kogorou into proving his false allibi.

"The Entrance to the Maze: The Anger of Colossus1 hr." October 9, 208 "Meikyuu he no Iriguchi Kyodai Jinzou no Ikari" (迷宮への入り 2000 口巨大神像の怒り)

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are invited for a ceremony for a ropeway which is built through a giant Goddess Statue on the mountains by Doumouto Guze. They learn that the there is a rumour about a curse by the goddess' anger and Mouri was invited to disprove it. After riding through the ropeway on the opening day, Doumouto, who has disappeared from the ropeway cart, is later found dead on the goddess' hand. Conan realizes the trick for this impossible crime after checking the incinerator of the house near the statue. Conan reveals that their hostess was the murderer, who used Doumouto's trick against the news reporters against him. After completing his disappearing trick, he would've disproved of the curse by ruining the newspaper's reputation, but was stabbed. The culprit reveals that Doumouto divorced her mother and left her in debt. Her brother died because he forced his workers to complete the ropeway in a short amount of time.

"The Falling from Mt. Ryushin Case" October 209 "Ryuushin-san Tenraku Jiken" (龍神山転落事件) 16, 2000

The Detective boys excluding Ai, are traveling through a winding path on Mt Ryushin. There they witness a derailed car fall off the mountain. The man has died and through the evidence, Conan concludes another car rammed into that car. Conan decides to leave it to the police as they are trained for basic cases. Mitsuhiko finds a code from the car wreckage which he assumes has nothing to do with the incident because he presumed it was a normal accident. He hides it from Conan since he wants to solve it himself. Later at the cabin, he solves the code and takes Ayumi and Genta with him. There where he thinks is treasure, is culprit who caused the accident's hide-out. Conan and the Professor return to the cabin to find the kids missing. Conan solves the code quickly and arrives with the cops in time before the kids were murdered. Mitsuhiko, while chopping wood with Ayumi and Genta as punishment, complains how Conan solved the code so easily, while he only figured it out because it was in the book he was reading.

"The Water Palace of 5 Colors (Part 1)" October 210 "Gozai Densetsu no Mizu-gotten (Zenpen)" (五彩伝説の水御殿 23, 2000 (前編))

Mouri, Ran, and Conan came as the substitutes for Sonoko and her father, the Suzuki president, and decided to attend a tea meeting at the Aonogi house. At the backyard of the mansion, there was a pond that shined in five colors. And there was a bridge which led to the tea room. While they were enjoying the pond’s colors something unusual happened… The headmaster died in the tea room, the same way as the legend.

"The Water Palace of 5 Colors (Part 2)" October 211 "Gozai Densetsu no Mizu-gotten (Kōhen)" (五彩伝説の水御殿 30, 2000 (後編))

Conan searches for clues to who murdered the Headmaster busily and finally figures out the trick that was used:the killer swam underneath the bridge and stabs the victim and ties him in a complicated fisherman's knot that when the waterwheel turns, the body would be lifted up to the ceiling of the beam that would make it look like a suicide. The suspect's reason for killing the Headmaster is to stop him from officially announcing his son, Roichi, from becoming the next Headmaster, which he claims the Headmaster betrayed him since they were selling counterfeit expensive ceramics for the past ten years.

"Mushrooms, Bears, and the Detective Boys (Part 1)" November 212 "Kinoko to Kuma to Tantei-dan (Zenpen)" (きのこと熊と探偵団 6, 2000 (前編))

The Detective Boys decided to go mushroom picking in the mountains. And during it, Genta got lost in the hunting area. They split into two groups to search for Genta. And Haibara and Mitsuhiko… discovered a dead body, and have become targets for the dangerous hunter. They found Genta, and three hunters decided to help them look for Haibara and Mitsuhiko.

"Mushrooms, Bears, and the Detective Boys (Part 2)" November 213 "Kinoko to Kuma to Tantei-dan (Kōhen)" (きのこと熊と探偵団 13, 2000 (後編))

Haibara deduces that if they reveal themselves, the hunter trying to get rid of them will shoot them and say that he thought they were bears. So Haibara and Mitsuhiko leave a clue for Conan in the form of different types of mushrooms that tells him who the killer is. Conan finds out that the killer is an old man who murdered a hunter in order to save a bear he calls Jubei, because the bear once saved his life.

"The Mysterious Retro Room Case" November 214 "Retoro Ruumu no Nazo Jiken" (レトロルームの謎事件) 20, 2000

Mouri, Ran, and Conan are attending a dolphin show when a murder occurs in the hotel. The hotel room where the murder occurred was specially designed to be retro one. The clue to the murder is an automatic television that when inserted with a coin, will play for an hour. Conan reveals how the culprit used that to fake their allibi.

"The Bay of Revenge (Part 1)" November 215 "Bei Obu Ribenji (Zenpen)" (ベイ·オブ·リベンジ (前編)) 27, 2000

While Mouri, Ran, and Conan were driving near the ocean, their car broke down. They stayed at lawyer Tachibana’s villa for one night. However, the next day… Right in front of their eyes… Mr. Tachibana’s boat capsized and he died. They found out that Mr. Tachibana was killed by someone with the initials T.K., who had been sending threats to him. Five years ago, Mr. Tachibana acquitted him of a crime. They thought he was Tatsuya Kumada, so they rushed into his apartment. But what they saw was… Kumada, the suspect… Suicide!? "The Bay of Revenge (Part 2)" December 216 "Bei Obu Ribenji (Kōhen)" (ベイ·オブ·リベンジ (後編)) 4, 2000

Conan investigates Kumada's suicide and finds several suspicious points that make him conclude it was a murder. He also finds out that a boat and anchor were stolen right before Tachibana's boat capsized and he drowned. Conan shoots Kogoro with a sleeping dart and deduces that the killer was the caretaker lady, whose son was murdered by Kamada and covered up by Tachibana.

"Megure's Locked Away Secret (Part 1)" December 217 "Fuuin-sareta Megure no Himitsu (Zenpen)" (封印された目暮 11, 2000 の秘密(前編))

While accompanying Sonoko on her shopping spree, Mouri, Ran, and Conan went to a department store. But then, Mouri got involved in Inspector Megure’s sting operation. The Inspector was investigating a series of cases involving bludgeoned women. Meanwhile, in the department store’s underground parking garage, Ran discovered a woman’s body.

"Megure's Locked Away Secret (Part 2)" December 218 "Fuuin-sareta Megure no Himitsu (Kōhen)" (封印された目暮の 18, 2000 秘密(後編))

In the mall, Megure catches the culprit before he could hurt Sonoko. He reveals a case in the past which is why he was so anxious. In the past a man was attacking girls with long skirts and a girl proposed to be bait but was badly injured along with Megure, leaving scars on both of them. The girl is revealed to be Megure's wife in the future.

"Gathered Great Detectives! Shinichi Kudo vs. Phantom Thief Kid2 hrs." January 8, 219 "Atsumerareta Meitantei! Kudō Shinichi VS Kaitō Kiddo" (集 2001 められた名探偵!工藤新一 VS 怪盗キッド) Kaitou Kid stands on top of a building with his butler. He discusses the time he was almost caught by a famous Detective in the East, Shinichi Kudo. He plans to "steal" the clock tower. Although, he leaves it standing with a code upon its hands, saying "I will not give this clock to anyone". After the reminisce, Kaitou Kid plans to steal the priceless gem of the Suzuki Corporation : the Black Star. Afterwards Kogoro has been invited to a detective meeting by an unknown assailant who sends him money. There are six detectives there excluding Conan. They are in a house where a massacre happened years ago. One of the detectives are killed and they are stranded in the mansion as the bridge has been cut and the cars have been burned. It also appears that the unknown assailant is using the name Phantom Thief Kid. After solving the case, Mouri was revealed to be Kid in disguise after he jumped off to save Detective Senma who jumped off thus saving Kid from being caught by Conan. In the end , the mansion was revealed to be the treasure , made of gold as the episodes credits roll

A woman named Ikenami Shizuka asks Kogoro to help find a man named Shirou Shabata so she could retrieve an old photograph; Conan realizes that the Ikenami is lying to Kogoro when she introduces herself for unknown reasons. Realizing that Shirou was skilled with kendo Conan assumes that his name would show up in past kendo competitions. After finding an address, they enter Shirou's apartment and find out Shirou has been murdered. Shirou's right hand contains the photograph Ikenami is searching for and makes her the prime suspect to the murder.

"The Client Full of Lies (Part 2)" January 22, 221 "Itsuwari Darake no Irainin (Kōhen)" (偽りだらけの依頼人(後編)) 2001

After a thorough investigation, Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and reveals the culprit to be Shirou's wife, Kyouko Shabata. Conan reveals that the photograph was used to hide the Shirou's real dying message, his wedding ring covered in blood in his right hand. Conan reveals that Kyouko falsified Shirou's time of death by placing the morning newspaper by Shirou's late night snack to pretend it was breakfast and by using a timed videocassette recorder to record a show. Kyouko confesses and reveals that Shirou was gambling them into debt and she was forced to kill him. She attempts to kill herself but is stopped by Ikenami. Heiji and Kazuha arrive and reveal that Ikenami is actually Heiji's mother. Ikenami confesses and tells Kogoro that she wanted to see what kind of person he was since Heiji was injured the last time he stayed over.

"And There Were No Mermaids (The Murder)" January 29, 222 "Soshite Ningyou wa Inakunatta (Jikenhen)" (そして人魚はいなく 2001 なった(事件編))

Conan along with Heiji, Ran, and Mouri visit the Isle of Mermaids looking for Saori, who had sent a letter to Heiji and Mouri asking them to save her from being killed by a mermaid, but when they try to look for her she has been reported missing. Every year on this island a festival is held were 3 locals win the Dungong Arrow that is said to wield immortality to its carrier. The festival is brought to a disastrous end when one of the winners is found dead hanging down the waterfall.

"And There Were No Mermaids (The Deduction)" February 5, 223 "Soshite Ningyou wa Inakunatta (Suirihen)" (そして人魚はいなく 2001 なった(推理編))

Conan and Heiji investigate the area and history of Mermaids Grave, a forest on mermaid island. They learn that an elder who is over 130 years old is a holder of the arrow and the head of the festival. While investigating two more murders occur. Conan reveals to Heiji he knows who the murderer is and to meet him later, but later he and Kazuha fall off a cliff.

"And There Were No Mermaids (The Resolution)" February 224 "Soshite Ningyou wa Inakunatta (Kaiketsuhen)" (そして人魚はいな 12, 2001 くなった(解決編))

Conan reveals that the murderer is the elder. He reveals that the elder were people who dressed up as her to continue the story of the arrow. Heiji and Kazuha arrive at the house in time to confirm the story. The culprit reveals that her mother was the previous elder who were killed by the three victims. She continued the elder story for her mother, but finds out the whole town knew she was the elder and that her mother was the mermaid's corpse. All the town people bow their heads and apologize for not telling her sooner as she cries due to her guilt.

225 "The Secret of the High Sales" February "Shoubai Hanjou no Himitsu" (商売繁盛のヒミツ) 19, 2001

A boy named Rintaro asks the Detective Boys to investigate on a strange man named Yuuji Kamekura. Rintaro explains that Yuuji appeared one day at his family restaurant claiming he owes Rintaro's grandfather a favor and would like to work at the restaurant. Yuuji soon after begins living with the family and helps them improve the restaurant to the point the family are constantly busy with the costumers. The Detective Boys investigate and all but Conan are convinced Yuuji is planning to dig a tunnel into a store to steal merchandise. The Detective Boys learn from a manager of a jewelry store that a robbery occurred five years ago and the thief was never caught. The Detective Boys deduce that Yuuji plans to dig up the jewels he buried five years ago from the robbery under the restaurant which was under construction five years ago. Conan denies the absurd deduction but gives in when Haibara tells him Yuuji is a very simple person unlike previous criminals. The Detective Boys manage to catch Yuuji digging up for jewels and call the police, convicting him of his robbery five years ago.

"The Battle Game Trap (Part 1)" February 226 "Batoru Geemu no Wana (Zenpen)" (バトルゲームの罠(前編)) 26, 2001

Sonoko, Ran, and Conan are at the arcade where they meet their High School English teacher, Jodie Saintemillion who is an avid gamer. Jodie introduces Ran to a virtual reality fighting game which uses mechanics to simulate a real fight. Ran loses to a gamer named Kengo Bitou who taunts her in her lost. Bitou plays the game again his rival, Takayasu Shimizu; The battle is projected on a large screen. Bitou's avatar overwhelms Shimizu's but stops at the climax of the match. The people in the arcade realize Bitou is dead and the police are called in. The police investigate; after reviewing the security camera's footage, they limit the suspects down to four people, a middle aged man, an employee, Shimizu, and Jodie.

"The Battle Game Trap (Part 2)" March 5, 227 "Batoru Geemu no Wana (Kōhen)" (バトルゲームの罠(後編)) 2001

The autopsy reveals the poison to be Tetrodotoxin; a poison that causes instant paralysis and death soon after. Conan investigates and learns the method and the culprit who murdered Bitou. He tranquilizes Sonoko and impersonates her; declaring Shimizu to be the murderer. Conan reveals that Shimizu was the one playing Bitou's avatar in order disguise the fact Bitou was already dead. As for the weapon, Conan explains Shimizu hid a needle inside a cigarette, put gum around it, wrapped it around paper and had it stuck to the employee's shoes. As certain evidence, Conan reveals that a coin with Shimizu's fingerprint should be found in Bitou's arcade machine. Shimizu confesses revealing Bitou's gambling and debt caused his sister to develop Vitamin A deficiency and resulting in her blindness. As Sonoko, Ran, and Jodie leave the arcade, their discussion leads to Shinichi whom Jodie dubs as Cool Guy; She says goodbye whilst calling Conan Cool Guy and leaves. Gin and Vodka are at a bar discussing their plans with the Black Organization member, Vermouth to capture Sherry. Conan and the Detective Boys are taking the transit bus to a ski resort where they meet Araide and Jodie aboard the bus. Haibara is able to sense that Vermouth is on the bus and hides herself to prevent her from being found. Soon after, the bus is hi-jacked by two armed men who uses the passengers as hostages and demands the city to release their boss. Conan attempts to search for a way to apprehend the men but is caught every time causing him to realize that one of the three passengers in the back seat is an accomplice of the armed men and is somehow informing them when of the passenger's behavior. Conan investigates the ski bags the robbers placed in the center of the bus and realizes they contain explosives.

"The Mysterious Passenger (Part 2)" April 23, 231 "Nazo-meita Joukyaku (Kōhen)" (謎めいた乗客(後編)) 2001

Conan figures out who the accomplice is. When the bus enters a tunnel, the armed men force Araide and a passenger named Akai Shuichi to wear the ski gear the hijackers were wearing. The hijackers then use Miharu Tomino, a woman chewing gum as a hostage and proceed to leave the bus. Conan reveals that the woman is an accomplice of theirs and that they plan to detonate the bombs in the ski bags once they are off the bus. The Detective Boys are able to inform the driver to stop suddenly which allows Conan to apprehend the criminals. Tomino accidentally activates the bomb giving them a few minutes before it detonates. The passengers leave the bus but Haibara remains seated in the bus as she plans to die in the explosion and subsequently prevent the Black Organization from finding her and harming those around her. Conan rushes back in the bus, grabs Haibara, and escape through the back window of the bus before the explosion occurs. Conan has Takagi take Haibara to the hospital in order to hide her from the Black Organization member. Later, Akai Shuichi is seen reporting to an unknown person and informing them that the target has not appeared.

"The Apartment Degradation Case" 232 May 7, 2001 "Manshon Tenraku Jiken" (マンション転落事件)

Mouri Kougoro accepts a case to help to find out who has been sending threatening phone calls and letters. On the way to the man's apartment with his friend, Mouri and Conan witness the man fall to his death. Conan finds out who the culprit is and solves the case.

"The Evidence That Didn't Disappear (Part 1)" May 14, 233 "Kienakatta Shouko (Zenpen)" (消えなかった証拠(前編)) 2001

Agasa takes the Detective Boys to a neighbor who is giving away his belongings before moving to England. While there Teruya Kanou's, the neighbor, Papillon is missing when the longcase clock strikes twelve and chimes twelve times. When Doyle's, the Papillon, collar is found inside an incinerator and the backdoor opens, Conan realizes that a culprit attempted to falsify the scene to give the impression Doyle ran away when in fact the culprit is hiding Doyle in the House to steal him afterward. Shino Hasuki's shoes are found near the crime scene and she is suspected of being the culprit.

"The Evidence That Didn't Disappear (Part 2)" May 21, 234 "Kienakatta Shouko (Kōhen)" (消えなかった証拠(後編)) 2001

Conan notices that there is glass wool in the incinerator and realizes who the culprit is. After gathering the guests, Conan reveals that the grandfather clock did not chime since the culprit changed the time on it and reveals that the culprit used the stereo to simulate the chimes. Doyle chased after the chime and is lured to the back of the stereo with food containing sleeping pills. Conan reveals that the culprit was after the jewellery on Doyle's collar which is worth a fortune. He reveals that the culprit is Yoshio Tsunashima; Tsunashima had reserved a small pendulum clock which was becoming slower by a minute per hour, meaning something was weighting down the pendulum which was revealed to be Doyle's collar. Tsunashima confesses to his crime and reveals he needed the money to continue to support the abandoned dogs he kept taking in. Kanou decides to give the collar to Tsunashima and not push for any charges. That following evening, they find out Kanou's other dog, Arthur, was the one who was placed Hasuki's shoes elsewhere. Conan reveals that Arthur wanted to prevent Hasuki from leaving so he could be with his love Christie, Hasuki's German Shepherd. Hasuki announces that she had accepted Kanou's proposal and will be joining him in England.

"The Locked Wine Cellar" May 28, 235 "Misshitsu no Wain Seraa" (密室のワインセラー) 2001 Mouri, Ran and Conan are invited to a private party by a President of a financial business, who is known for his expensive collection and various tastes in wine. Three other guests attend and all of which have borrowed money from the president. He challenges one of the guests, a training sommelier to a tasting challenge that if he guesses all of the wines correctly he will forget his debt. As the sommelier guesses two of the wines correctly the president gets frustrated and goes to his wine cellar for a rare wine. They all realize that the president has taken too long and discover his dead body in the wine cellar which has been found locked. Fingerprints have been found on the door by two of the suspects yet Conan discovers the clues and in the end uses Mouri with the aid of Takagi and Chiba to reanact how the criminal killed the President. The criminal confesses that they killed the president because he rose the interest on their debt and they couldn't pay.

"The Nanki Beach Mystery Tour (Part 1)" June 4, 236 "Nanki Shirahama Misuterii Tsuaa (Zenpen)" (南紀白浜ミステリー 2001 ツアー(前編))

Ran, Mouri, and Conan go to Shirahama on a vacation they won, and there meet a group of college students. They are all in the same art club, but don't seem to get along well. When Madoka is drawing, she finds the body of one of her fellow students, Maki, stabbed in the heart.

Later, a bomb was found on the train which Officer Sato went to investigate. At that time, while she was in the bathroom with it, Officer Takagi had to take the criminal to the bathroom. And then, he apparently committed suicide but...

Conan points out the suspects of who the murderer is. After investigating and finding clues, Conan reveals the culprit. He tries to escape but is stopped by Takagi and Sato.

Genta has been acting weird at school lately. The Detective boys learn that he is being targeted by a killer. Genta tries to remember where he sees the killer. After eating ice cream, seeing the Flag of France, and looking at a store mirror, he heads to a barber shop. Afterwards the killer confronts him but Conan reveals it was a trap and that the killer is surrounded by cops.

"Kogoro Mori's Imposter (Part 1)" July 23, 243 "Mōri Kogoro no Nisemono (Zenpen)" (毛利小五郎のニセ者(前編)) 2001

An imposter impersonates Mouri at a hotel where he is invited to investigate a case where a man is said to have committed suicide 4-5 years ago. Mouri decides to play along and not reveal his identity. Later that night, the impostor is found hanged in his room.

Conan, Mouri and Ran all go to an isolated mansion called the Sunflower building because every 12 hours it rotates. They are having a bbq outside while the owner is inside when they hear a shot fired. They rush inside to find the owner shot through the forehead. After investigating, Conan discovers the culprit was one of the owner's students studying to be an architect. The student killed the owner because the owner stole his work and was getting an award for it.

Professor Agasa takes the Detective Boys and Conan at the beach during school break while Ran and Sonoko also happen to be on the exact beach. At night, all of them ate dinner in a hotel together with the lifeguards they met that morning. The man the lifeguards were supposed to meet didn't show up so they tried calling him but the only sound that could be heard was the sound of the waves. The 3 lifeguards decided to look for the man at the beach and found him on the shore dead, covered in scratches and wrapped in a fisherman's net.

"The Mystery in the Net (Part 2)" August 20, 247 "Ami ni Kakatta Nazo (Kōhen)" (網にかかった謎(後編)) 2001

Conan figures out the culprit and decides to use Professor Agasa's voice to reveal the trick but remembers he forgot his voice changing bow tie at the hotel. Haibara arrives bringing with her Conan's bow tie. Conan tells Ayumi, Mitsuhiko and Genta to collect some things. After the three brought them, Conan, as Professor Agasa, reveals the trick the culprit used to kill the man. The victim, covered in fishnet, was placed in the shore where the culprit dug a hole fit for a man. He then placed a boat with sea water on top of the victim to serve as a weight so that when the victim wakes up he won't be able to escape when the tides rises up. The killer placed false evidence on the boat so that the police would think that the victim was placed inside the boat before letting him drown. The culprit then tells that he killed the man which was responsible for his father's death and that he only gathered all his courage to bestow divine punishment upon the man. Ran then tells the man that courage is a word that gives you the strength to do what's right and not to take someone else's life. Afterwards, Haibara comes up to Ran and introduces herself.

"The Alibi of the Soothing Forest" August 27, 248 "Iyashi no Mori no Aribai" (癒しの森のアリバイ) 2001

Conan, Ran and Mouri are going sightseeing when the village head is killed. Conan is able to figure out that the culprit was the victim's oldest son.

"The Idol Stars' Secret (Part 1)" September 249 "Aidoru-tachi no Himitsu (Zenpen)" (アイドル達の秘密(前編)) 3, 2001

Mouri Kougoro gets an invite for an engagement party from his favorite idol Youko- chan. Kaoru the one who is getting engaged is another star and a former member of a group they all used to be in. She is a fan of Mouri and wanted him to find out who was stalking her. Kaoru decides to take a bath. And the rest of the girl group decide to dress up and sing their old song to surprise her. Conan discovers blood leading to the door and they find her attacked. Bloody clothes are found outside which were made to make it seem like it was Kaoru's stalker but really is someone at the party.

"The Idol Stars' Secret (Part 2)" September 250 "Aidoru-tachi no Himitsu (Kōhen)" (アイドル達の秘密(後編)) 10, 2001

Megure searches everyone for the murder weapon but it isn't found. Though they discover a listening device and find drawers tampered with. The hospital calls and Kaoru will make it. Meanwhile, Conan confronts the culprit who tried to kill Kaoru over a misunderstanding and overdoses on medicine to try and kill herself. But Conan saves her life. Kaoru apparently made up the rumor of the engagement to get her manager to notice her and they later become engaged.

"The Tragedy at the OK Corral" September 251 "OK-Bokujou no Higeki" (OK 牧場の悲劇) 17, 2001

Because of Mouri's love of horses he takes Conan and Ran to an OK corral ranch. One of their prize winning horses gets spooked and they all go running after her. They reach the horse and Conan finds blood on her horseshoe. They then find the farrier; one who shoes the horses, murdered. They find out that the farrier, had been meeting with a businessman who wanted to buy and ruin breeding any more horses that would save the ranch. Conan deduces that it wasn't an accident and that someone gave the horse chocolate which is stimulant for horses. But it wasn't the cause for the death and was a cover-up for the real criminal. And that the murder weapon was the horseshoe that the person in haste put on wrong. The criminal confesses and had killed the farrier accidentally in self-defense.

"The Kidnapper in the Picture" October 8, 252 "E no Naka no Yuukaihan" (絵の中の誘拐犯) 2001

Conan and the three Detective Boys find out about a kidnapping case and decide to investigate. They look for places where the kidnapped boy might be hidden and Ayumi finds the culprit. She hides in his car and is taken to where the boy is being kept, and Conan knocks the kidnapper out by hitting him with a kicked paint can.

Sato is having an arranged marriage meeting with a man due to her mother's persistence. She arrives to find out it's Ninzaburo Shiratori. She proposes that if Takagi does not arrive to her before sunset, she will marry him whether she wants to or not. He accepts, but Takagi is busy with a store robbery. Three of the eye witnesses all give different description and three culprits are kept in the back of the police car. Conan on the phone prepares to help Takagi solve the case as Kudo Shinichi.

"Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 4 (Part 2)" October 22, 254 "Honchou no Keiji Koi Monogatari 4 (Kōhen)" (本庁の刑事恋物語 2001 4(後編))

Takagi solves the case and arrests the culprit when he tries to make a dash out of the police car. Takagi catches up and gives up on going to Sato in time to stop the marriage as the sun is almost set and the car is too far away. His party comes to cheer him on and he runs. Conan manages to stop the marriage in time with Tomoaki Araide's help. Takagi manages to reach the restaurant but the sun has completely sunk. He then sees Sato around the corner who tells him he told her an emergency case has come up. Takagi smiles as he enters the car. Conan and the detective boys are out walking around the morning after an earthquake when they hear a scream. They see a woman cradling a man bleeding, and they call an ambulance and the man is saved. He says he was robbed and 200,000 yen ($2,000) was stolen from. They have a suspect, but he has an alibi of committing another crime when the man was attacked.

"The Man from Chicago (Part 1)" November 258 "Shikago Kara Kita Otoko (Zenpen)" (シカゴから来た男(前編)) 19, 2001

The Detective Boys attend an animal show involving a White lion named Leon. Outside, a man named James Black, is mistaken by reporters for Randy Hawks, a rich man who sponsors zoos and animal shows. The Detective Boys lead him out of the crowd of reporters by pretending he is their English Teacher. As return for their help, Black offers to treat them for lunch and leaves to get his car, only to be mistaken for Hawks and kidnapped for ransom. Growing concerned, the Detective Boys search for Black; Their investigation leads them to believe he was kidnapped. They find Black's strap from the animal show in an alley way and discover blood on the letters P, &, A on the strap.

"The Man from Chicago (Part 2)" November 259 "Shikago Kara Kita Otoko (Kōhen)" (シカゴから来た男(後編)) 26, 2001

Ayumi notices that Black still has her Detective Badge, allowing Conan to trace the signal and have Sato set up a road block intercepting the vehicle. The kidnappers manage to elude the road block since their vehicle is disguised as a police car. Conan discerns the message P & A, revealing that when alphabetized, spell Panda. Conan concludes Black is referring to the black and white colors of a panda topolice cars. Since the kidnappers are armed, Conan tells the police a plan to save Black safely. The police feign a car chase and slowly surround the kidnappers car; They suddenly break throwing them off guard and apprehends the criminals. Black disappears before he is questioned and is driven away by the mysterious Shuichi Akai.

"The Shaking Restaurant" December 260 "Yureru Resutoran" (揺れるレストラン) 3, 2001

Conan, Mouri, and Ran go to a restaurant that is shaking because of construction next door. They go back the next day only to find that the man running the restaurant is dead. At first it looks like the construction made a vase fall over and hit him on the head, killing the owner, but the construction wasn't happening at the estimated time of death. Then Mouri accidentally hits his head and suddenly becomes a very good detective and solves the case. But as usually he missed something, so Conan puts him out and finishes the deduction show.

"The Fearful Legend of the Snowy Night (Part 1)" December 261 "Yuki no Yoru no Kyoufu Densetsu (Zenpen)" (雪の夜の恐怖伝説 10, 2001 (前編))

Conan, Mouri, and Ran are driving to a hot spring when the road gets closed due to snow, and so they accept an offer of staying the night at a nearby house. The next day they discover the body of the company president dead and when they follow the footprints, they find his eldest son dressed up in armor and also dead in a locked room. The company president's wife declares that they were killed by the spirit of a 500 year old samurai whose death anniversary was that day.

"The Fearful Legend of the Snowy Night (Part 2)" December 262 "Yuki no Yoru no Kyoufu Densetsu (Kōhen)" (雪の夜の恐怖伝説 17, 2001 (後編))

Conan discovers that the footprints of the armor in the snow were used to cover up the culprit's footprints, and finds that the locked room the son died in was set up. He tranqs Mouri with his watch and tells everyone that the culprit was the maid, who killed them because they made her father commit suicide.

"The Osaka Double Mystery - Naniwa Swordsman and Toyotomi's Castle2 hrs." January 7, 263 "Oosaka Daburu Misuterii: Naniwa Kenshi to Taikō no 2002 Shiro" (大阪ダブルミステリー浪花剣士と太閤の城)

Heiji invites Conan to his kendo tournament but a drunk man named Atsushi Tarumi is found dead in the storage room. Heiji comes to investigate only to find that the body had somehow been moved to the shower room without anyone noticing. After a thorough investigation, Heiji reveals the culprit to be Takashi Kategawa, a friend of Tarumi. Heiji explains that in the storage room, Kategawa drugged Tarumi into a drunken slumber and put red paint on Tarumi to imply he was killed. After everyone leaves, he sets the scene to create the idea Tarumi committed a murder in his drunken frenzy. Tarumi heads for the shower room, suited in Tsuba Zeriai, in order to hide what he believed to be blood from the murder where he is then killed by Kategawa. As evidence, Heiji reveals that the mannequin that was used to trick Tarumi into believing he committed a murder was covered in red paint. After Tarumi is arrested, Heiji and Conan explore the town. Later a man is set ablaze atop Osaka Castle. After investigating thoroughly, Heiji and Conan concludes the murderer to be Shigehiko Wakisaka, one of the tour guides at the castle who committed the murders through the use of self-destructing flashlights. Wakisaka confesses and reveals that he was murdering his fellow tour guides who murdered his grandfather thirteen years ago. Arihiro Kasuya, one of the tour guides, confesses to have murdered Wakisaka's grandfather and prepares to kill Heiji but is apprehended by the police.

"Courtroom Battle: Kisaki vs. Kogoro (Part 1)" January 264 "Hōtei no Taiketsu: Kisaki tai Kogorō (Zenpen)" (法廷の対決妃 14, 2002 VS 小五郎(前編))

Eri Kisaki is the attorney for a man named Shinji Usami who is convicted for the murder of Tsuyoshi Hirasawa while in a drunken state. The authenticity is doubted due to the fact Hirasawa murdered Shinji's son but was not convicted because the murder was done while he was drunk. Eri attempts to confirm Usami's alibi through his estranged wife Masako Kamedo. Kamedo reveals that Hiraswa visited her barand that Kogoro should be able to confirm it. Kogoro reveals that he fell asleep at the bar, and was waken by Kamedo who told him he had a phone call; The time on the phone proves that Usami was at the bar at the time of the murder. During the hearing, the prosecutor Reiko Kujo points to that fact that Kamedo could have changed the time on Kogoro's phone to establish an alibi for her ex-husband. Kamedo confesses to changing the time on Kogoro's phone and thus destroys Usami's alibi.

265 "Courtroom Battle: Kisaki vs. Kogoro (Part 2)" January "Houtei no Taiketsu: Kisaki tai Kogorou (Kōhen)" (法廷の対決 21, 2002 妃 VS 小五郎(後編))

After Kogoro was turned unwittingly from the defendant's witness to the prosecutor's witness Kogoro conducts his own investigation and investigates Usami's home while accompanied by Conan. During the second hearing, Conan tranquilizes Kogoro to reveal Kamedo to be the murderer. Conan reveals that the Baby Octopus was served only at her bar and was found in Hirasawa's stomach, meaning he had visited the bar and that after his visit, he was killed by her. Usami having witnessed the murder places his car keys there to place the blame on himself. Kamedo confesses and admits she wanted to avenge her son. After the hearing, Eri asks Kogoro if he would like to go to a restaurant with her only to be ignored by Kogoro who is distracted by a beautiful woman.

"The Truth Behind Valentine's (The Murder)" January 266 "Barentain no Shinjitsu (Jikenhen)" (バレンタインの真実(事件 28, 2002 編))

Sonoko invites Ran to come to a house in the hills where their chocolates are blissed with good fortune for love. Conan and Mouri attend too. Once there, they meet two men who are out hunting for a Japanese wolf, an old lady who owns the place her two female assistants and a male photographer. The females there start making chocolate as gifts for the one they love. Sonoko makes hers for Makoto and Ran leaves hers nameless. A snowstorm occurs and the photographer is found dead by Conan and the dog named Subaru.

"The Truth Behind Valentine's (The Reasoning)" February 267 "Barentain no Shinjitsu (Jikenhen)" (バレンタインの真実(推理 4, 2002 編))

The mystery continues and they develop the film on the camera to find droplets of blood on it. Apparently the murder takes place before the snowstorm but Conan feels like there's a trick to it. The characters are given more back story. While examining the chocolates, Conan figures out who the murder is. Mouri pops in finding Conan snooping around and is put to sleep. Conan tells everyone in the house Mouri is ready to place his deduction.

"The Truth Behind Valentine's (The Resolution)" February 268 "Barentain no Shinjitsu (Kaiketsuhen)" (バレンタインの真実(解 11, 2002 決編))

Mouri reveals who the murderer is. Just then they are betrayed by the two hunters who reveal they planned to murder that person the whole time to avoid blackmail from a crime they committed. Just then, a man in a ski mask, goggles, and a scarf comes in when one of the hunters opens the door. He knocks one of the hunters out and in his goggles a shot revealing Makoto. Ran knocks the other hunter out with a kick. Makoto demands Sonoko to tell her who is the other boy she is dating as he has not received her hand-made knitted sweater (She gave up due to its difficulty), her hand-made pottery glass (he mistook it to be a vase) and the chocolate (She refused to tell who it is for). He gets ready to fight until Sonoko tells him the chocolate was for him. Later on Ran cries because of Shinichi while Conan watches in the shadows. Ran wakes up to find her jacket blanketing her. She received a picture of herself sleeping from Detective Kid who is Conan with Shinichi's voice. Conan pretended Shinichi paid a visit and ate her chocolate due to hunger while she was asleep. Ran becomes angry due to Shinichi not waking her up to meet him.

Ran, feeling she met the mysterious man before, attempts to remember why. Jodie interrupts the daydreaming Ran in class and asks her the meaning of X to which she is unable to answer correctly. On the way home, they meet Jodie who takes them to the cafe in adepartment store to warn them about a serial groper. Conan notices a business man named Norihisa Kisugi making a suspicious phone call to a private detective named Katsunori Chuujou. Chuujou demands Kisugi to pay four times the promised amount or he will not hand over the investigation documents concerning an unknown individual. Kisugi agrees and enters the department store only to be killed by the individual. A coincidental blackout occurs at the same time, and when the power returns, Kisugi is found dead on the top of an escalatorwith ○×△ written on an envelope. The police understands the message to be a dying message, and using Chuujou's phone, allows them to locate the last caller, Kisugi. Kisugi reveals that he hired the detective to search for an embezzler in the company. The documented that contained the embezzler's identity is missing from Chuujou's envelope and the police discern the embezzler must be the culprit. Kisugi then hands them Chuujou's list of fifty-eight suspects he had received. The police decrease the suspects down to thirty-one after investigating the alibis of the suspects. Conan tells the police a line of blood is found on the edge of the envelope and explains part of Chuujou's dying message must be on the escalator. Using a luminol reaction, they discover □ revealing the whole message to be □○×△; Conan notes the square is much bigger than the other three symbol.

"Secret Rushed Omission (Part 2)" March 18, 272 "Kakushite Isoide Shouryaku (Kōhen)" (隠して急いで省略(後 2002 編))

Conan's investigation leads him to discover the meaning of the symbols. He drops hints for Joseph Meguire to deduce what the symbols are. Meguire explains that the symbols are outlines for kanji and □ is bigger than the other three symbols since it was not cut off. He elaborates further, explaining the three symbols are missing the top portion since they were written past the envelope and onto the document. The culprit is revealed to be Bunta Kuniyoshi (国吉文太 Kuniyoshi Bunta?), correcting that the bottom of 吉 is usually more round. The police interrogate Kuniyoshi and convict him for the murder after Takagi gathers the shredded pieces of the documents with blood and piece them together forming the missing top portion of ○×△ and fully spelling Kuniyoshi's name. Kuniyoshi confesses explaining he wanted a better life for his poor family. Ran, learning the meaning of X, sends a mail to Shinichi with Xs. Elsewhere, an unknown Black Organization member sends a message to Gin with X's in her message explaining they are a sign of feminine affection but can also be a sign of hate before throwing a dart at a picture of Shiho with an X through it.

"Old Lady's Quiz Disappearance Case" April 8, 273 "Kuizu-baasan no Shissou Jiken" (クイズ婆さんの失踪事件) 2002

The Detective Boys meet an old woman in the park who feeds and takes care of stray cats, and also likes to give the kids quizes from a puzzle book she has. The next day she doesn't show up to feed the cats, but the cat Bruce comes with the old lady's scarf around his neck. The scarf has a code and blood on it, and to find and save the lady Conan and the gang must solve the puzzle.

"Truth About the Haunted House (Part 1)" April 15, 274 "Yuurei-yashiki no Shinjitsu (Zenpen)" (幽霊屋敷の真実(前編)) 2002

Ran catches a cold and visits the doctor. When there one of the doctor's patients mentions that his apartment is haunted by a girl who was burned to death four years ago. Conan and Mouri decide to investigate. Once there they meet three other people who are living in that apartment. Ran who is fearful of ghost tells her father they should leave at 7 pm. When the clock strikes 10:20 pm, Ran wakes up to find a ghost in the television telling her to leave. Mouri and Conan wake up due to her screaming. Mouri tells Ran it was probably a dream and goes to the toilet. After he's done the water turns red. Mouri backs away from the toilet and screams when he sees a ghostly image.

"Truth About the Haunted House (Part 2)" April 22, 275 "Yuurei-yashiki no Shinjitsu (Kōhen)" (幽霊屋敷の真実(後編)) 2002

The three people excluding the old man are given more back story. One man does not believe in the ghost, one man is a horror movie filmer, and the other man just lives there. They are told that two suspects of the burning four years ago ran from the scene and one of them was identified. Conan finds out how the ghost trick was done. He puts Mouri to sleep and tells them the reason those tricks were done. He reveals that the culprit is one of the two suspects and that he is hiding the other suspect too.

"Case of the Missing Policeman's Notebook" May 6, 276 "Keisatsu Techou Funshitsu Jiken" (警察手帳紛失事件) 2002

Takagi loses his notebook after breaking up a fight between a manager and his singer. He searches for his book with the help of the Detective Boys. They then discover that the singer plans to murder his manager. The detective boys manage to bring Takagi to his house and save him before he was killed. With the manager was Takagi's notebook.

"English Teacher vs. Great Western Detective (Part 1)" May 13, 277 "Eigo-kyoushi tai Nishi no Meitantei (Zenpen)" (英語教師 VS 西 2002 の名探偵(前編))

While at the Professor's, Conan recalls his last meeting with the Black Organization. Conan deduces that another Black Organization member must have been at the hotel party. This is when he finally singles out Chris Vineyard as his suspect. Heiji came to Tokyo to help Conan out with the case. Heiji suspects Jodie-sensei of being a possible Black Organization member, and although Conan seems reluctant to this idea, they pay Jodie-sensei a visit at her apartment. They find out here that her full name is "Jodie Saintemillion". After Jodie agrees to go out for a while with Heiji and Conan, the man living next door to Jodie falls dead outside from over 30 stories, coincidentally as the three are outside. After the police arrive, it seems likely that the man committed suicide. However, Conan and Heiji have a different idea.

"English Teacher vs. Great Western Detective (Part 2)" May 20, 278 "Eigo-kyoushi tai Nishi no Meitantei (Kōhen)" (英語教師 VS 西の 2002 名探偵(後編))

Heiji immediately destroys the theory of suicide, by showing that the man who fell from his apartment attempted to grab onto the curtain to save his life. Conan reveals the truth by showing how the room was switched around. When Conan and Heiji leave, they concur that Jodie is someone suspicious, but believe that she is innocuous.

"The Hooligan in the Labyrinth (Part 1)" May 27, 279 "Meikyuu no Fuurigan (Zenpen)" (迷宮のフーリガン(前編)) 2002

The Detective Boys and Agasa go and watch a soccer game of the Tokyo Spirits vs. Noir Tokyo. On the way back they see a very rude and loud supporter who has gotten kicked out of many stadiums for his crazy behavior. They all get on a train to go home, but as they are exiting to change trains they see the rude supporter fall on the floor with a knife in his stomach. The train was packed so it could have been anybody and no one saw the crime happen, but Conan is able to reduce the suspects down to 3 soccer supporters.

"The Hooligan in the Labyrinth (Part 2)" June 3, 280 "Meikyuu no Fuurigan (Kōhen)" (迷宮のフーリガン(後編)) 2002

After questioning the 3 suspects Conan still cannot determine who is the culprit, but notices that Haibara is watching the next soccer match on the subway's TV. She empathizes with the player Higo, who has changed from playing for Noir Tokyo to the Tokyo Spirits, but is now hated by both teams. Conan realizes a vital piece of evidence will be on the culprit, and determines that the culprit is the man who is a fake supporter of Noir Tokyo because he has the imprint of the knife on his arm where he was hiding it. Conan goes over to Haibara and tells her that now Higo has scored a goal, his new team is cheering for him. Haibara promises never to run away from fate, and Conan promises to protect her.

"The Small Eye-Witnesses" June 10, 281 "Chiisana Mokugekisha-tachi" (小さな目撃者たち) 2002

The 3 Detective Boys are playing 'make-believe detectives' when they encounter a real case. A man is killed right in front of them, wrapped up in a sheet and thrown into a truck. The Detective Boys hide in the back of the truck with the body and the killer drives to a forest and buries the body. The next day the Detective Boys tell Conan and Mouri about the murder, and Conan is able to tell where the body was buried from the descriptions of what the truck drove past and the culprit is caught.

"Mystery of the Water Flowing Stone Garden (Part 1)" June 17, 282 "Mizu Nagaruru Sekitei no Kai (Zenpen)" (水流るる石庭の怪(前 2002 編))

Mouri, Conan, and Ran are driving in the mountains when they run out of gas and are kindly picked up by Majima, the president of a furniture company. Most of the people that work for him and live with him seem to hate him, so it isn't a surprise when Majima turns up dead the next morning in the beautiful house rock garden. The mystery is that there is not a single foot print around the body.

"Mystery of the Water Flowing Stone Garden (Part 2)" June 24, 283 "Mizu Nagaruru Sekitei no Kai (Kōhen)" (水流るる石庭の怪(後 2002 編))

Mouri accuses one of Majima's employees who was in debt, but is quickly proven wrong. He then accuses Endou, one of Majima's company managers. The police find a threatening note in the trash from Endou to Majima saying to meet on the roof which seems to implicate Endou further. Mouri says that if Endou tied a rope around the body and used a bow and arrows, it would have been possible to lower the body without a trace. The police go to look for evidence of the arrows and rope, and Conan is shocked when they actually find it because the position the body is in makes it impossible for that trick to have been used. Conan deduces that the culprit is Kiyama-san whose father was murdered by Majima. Kiyama flooded the garden with water and floated the body on an air mat to leave no trace behind.

"Chinatown Deja Vu in the Rain (Part 1)" July 1, 284 "Chuukagai Ame no Deja Byu (Zenpen)" (中華街雨のデジャ 2002 ビュ(前編)) A man dies at a restaurant by cyanide but they are unable to find the source poison. Meanwhile Ran is developing a fever, and a memory of Shinichi and a pale man in a wool cap floats at the edge of her mind.

"Chinatown Deja Vu in the Rain (Part 2)" July 8, 285 "Chuukagai Ame no Deja Byu (Kōhen)" (中華街雨のデジャビュ 2002 (後編))

After the case is solved, Ran falls ill. To everyone's surprise, she falls from her chair and collapses on the floor, having memories of certain people she met a long time ago. These people include Sharon Vineyard and the mysterious man.
