Raisen District, Madhya Pradesh Field Visit Report By: Dr. Arpana Kullu, Consultant NRHM-I MoHFW Introduction For the Action based Monitoring of High Focused Districts, first visit was made to the district of Raisen in Madhya Pradesh from 26th April 2010 to 30th April 2010. The facilities visited and key persons visited for monitoring are enumerated in the Table 1 shown below. The monitoring visit, out of 7 blocks, visit was made to 4 blocks and it included interaction with the Health staff including the Medical Officers, Block Programme Managers , Nursing Staff and few ASHA’s , to gain a better understanding of the processes and difficulties in functioning. It is also mentioned here that the procedure of preparation of District Survey Report is as per notification guidelines. Every efforts have been made to cover sand mining locations, area & overview of mining activity in the district with all its relevant features pertaining to geology & mineral wealth in replenish able and non- replenish able areas of rivers, stream and other sand sources. This report will be a model and guiding document which is a compendium of available mineral resources, geographical set up, environmental and ecological set up of the district and is based on data of various departments, published reports, and websites. The data may vary due to floods, heavy rains and other natural calamities. -

Government College, Bhainsdehi is one of the oldest and prestigious institutions of Betul district. It was established on 22 Sept. / 22 Oct. 1982 in building of Govt. Hr. Sec. School Bhainsdehi with 42 students in B.A. course. Bachelor of Commerce was started in the year 1987. In the year 2010-11 college was shifted in its own building on a hill in Nawapur village of Bhainsdehi Tehsil. Bachelor of Science and PG in four subjects started in the year 2012-13.
