We are one of the few theatres that started as a summer stock operation that can boast of being 50 years old. We are proud of our distinguished past, equally proud of what we currently produce and promise that we will strive to ensure you will be proud of what we present in the future. Over the years we have hosted many "stars" and given a great many young people the opportunity to hone their craft as they started their careers. Some of these people have gone on to become "stars" in their own right. And some have returned to our stage to share what they have learned in the professional world. Anna McNeely was an intern at The Little Theatre On The Square, has gone on to a successfU1 career on Broadway and has "come home" in recent years to perform again on this stage. Greg Graham, who was an intern here in 1997, was in the Broadway productions of FOSSE and CHICAGO and was dance captain for HAIRSPRAY when it opened on Broadway. He returned here this summer to direct our production of HAIRSPRAY.Those are just two examples of similar stories that could fill an entire book. The Little Theatre On The Square... 50 years in the making! Thanks to all who have made this celebration possible. A very special thanks to you, our patrons, for without you we would be playing to an empty house. And what kind of fUn would that be? Enjoy the show and tell a friend about The Little Theatre On The Square! Sincerely, padL bani Leonard A. Anderson Executive Director I 50th Anniversary I Summer Mainstage Season Season & SingbeTkkets; On Sale Now! 2 17-728-7375 cw 1-888-261-9675 THE SOUND OF MUSIC July 25-August 5 Rodgers and Hammerstein's most beloved musical about Maria, a woman studying to be a nun, who is sent out to be a governess or the family of Captain von Trapp. The children, initially hostile and mischievous, come to like her, and she finds herself falling in love with Captain von Trapp. Join us for this family favorite filled with songs like Climb Every Mountain, Do Re Mi, and the title song The Sound Of Music. La Cage Aux Folles August 8-19 This Tony Award winner for Best Musical is a boisterous and uplift- ing celebration of love and family in an untraditional setting. The inspiration for the 1996 film The Birdcage, La Cage Aux Folles is the story of Albin and Georges, two middle-aged partners who run a drag nightclub in St. Tropez who £ind out their son is going to marry the daughter of a local morals crusader. The show is filled with outlandish costumes, extravagant dance numbers, and a jazzy Jerry Herman score. M. Seth Reines Artistic Director We have a SEAT for you! e are proud of the quality of our productions and we hope you are Wtoo. And, we are proud of the renovation of the theatre that was completed in 2004. Over 100 patrons have stepped forward to Adopt-A-Seat to help us with the cost of capital improvements so that we can continue to show- case our productions in a pleasant, comfortable environment. Please consider joining this group and Adopt-A-Seat in your name or the name of someone you wish to honor or remember. If you commit to donating $1,000 to our Adopt-A-Seat campaign, we will place your name on a seat on the seating chart plaque in the theatre lobby. If you wish, your donation may be paid over a three year period, but your name will be forever inscribed on the plaque. FOXNews.com - Emmy-Winning 'Newhart' Comic Actor Tom Poston Dies …- Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Arts And Entertainment 05/02/2007 06:34 PM Emmy-Winning 'Newhart' Comic Actor Tom Poston Dies at 85 Tuesday , May 01, 2007 LOS ANGELES — ADVERTISEMENT Tom Poston, the tall, pasty-faced comic who found fame and fortune playing a clueless everyman on such hit television shows as "Newhart" and "Mork and Mindy," has died. He was 85. Poston, who was married to Suzanne Pleshette of "The Bob Newhart Show," died Monday night at home after a brief illness, a family representative, Tanner Gibson, said Tuesday. The nature of his illness was not disclosed. Poston's run as a comic bumbler began in the mid- 1950s with "The Steve Allen Show" after Allen plucked the character actor from the Broadway stage to join an ensemble of eccentrics he would conduct "man in the street" interviews with. Don Knotts was the shaky Mr. Morrison, Louis Nye was the suave, overconfident Gordon Hathaway and Poston's character was so unnerved by the television cameras that he couldn't remember who he was. He won an Emmy playing "The Man Who Can't Remember His Name." But when Allen moved the show from New York to Los Angeles in 1959, Poston stayed behind. "Hollywood's not for me right now; I'm a Broadway cat," he told a reporter at the time. When he did finally move west, he quickly began appearing in variety shows, sitcoms and films. • Lack of Ethics Abound
Phillipe and Jorge’s Cool, Cool World: Lack of Ethics Abound Affluenza, Little Rhody-style “Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald No shit, Sherlock, er, F. Scott. Unfortunately that doesn’t pertain to the crassest behavior exhibited at times by the Great Unwashed, as the sexual rape and molestation scandal at the (once-) prestigious St. George’s School in Middletown is revealing. The people who run the school seem quite able to descend to the vilest activities possible, one level of hell that isn’t governed by bank account size or social pedigree. This prep school, predominantly for the wealthy (at $56,000 thou a year tuition for high schoolers, we hope we don’t find an argument), has been exposed as covering up or smothering complaints about decades of molestation and/or rape of students. Some of the actions, or inactions, of the school’s administration may well be criminal (e.g., not immediately reporting accusations of rape to the authorities), but all of it is detestable. The administration at St. Groper’s is handling this exhumation of crimes committed by essentially everyone in power at the school since the 1970s with all the grace exhibited by the contestants in Monty Python’s fabled “Upper Class Twit of the Year” competition sketch. Whether it was imposing a gag order on the students who brought the allegations, ignoring their complaints, or quietly cashiering the accused, which includes staff, an assistant Episcopal chaplain and other students, or simply acting as if nothing occurred and the victims didn’t exist, St.
