  • Rishi Tea Debuts Organic & Fair Trade Certifiedtm Tea Bags, Featuring
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Rishi Tea debuts Organic & Fair Trade CertifiedTM Tea Bags, Featuring the Latest Innovation in Specialty Tea 2012 NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION SHOW Milwaukee, Wisconsin April 13, 2012: Rishi Tea (www.rishi-tea.com), leading international purveyor of organic and Fair Trade CertifiedTM loose-leaf teas, introduces its first line of specialty tea bags. Rishi Tea is first to market with an innovative knit-mesh filter bag that imparts a level of flavor, aroma and body, which standard paper or silky tea bags cannot match. Debuting at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, Rishi Teaʼs organic tea bags highlight the latest innovation in the tea industry with aims to elevate the quality of the tea bag market. “Weʼre excited to introduce tea lovers to the fullest flavors and most aromatic, vivid infusions theyʼve ever experienced from a tea bag. Rishi Tea offers a new filter mesh material from plant based resources that yields a far greater extraction ratio and infusion quality than any other tea bag. Paper and even fine mesh silky bag materials are too tightly woven and act as a barrier to the tealeavesʼ infusion. We found a looser weave was needed to improve the overall tea bag experience in restaurants and foodservice at a cost per bag that meets or beats the current silky tea bag brands.” Says Joshua Kaiser, Founder and President, Rishi Tea. Available now, for Restaurants, Hotels and Food Service, 10 organic tea bags flavors: Jade Cloud Green Tea, Jasmine Green Tea, Earl Grey, Pu-erh Ginger, Blueberry Rooibos, Peppermint Rooibos, Chamomile Medley, Tropical Hibiscus & Turmeric Lemon Each organic tea bag is individually sealed in a tastefully designed, printed overwrap that maintains optimum freshness.

  • Purveyors of the Finest Tea to Meet the Most Exacting Demands
Purveyors of the finest tea to meet the most exacting demands. Growing regions »China« Legend has it that tea was discovered here back in 2737 BC. Approximately 90% of Chinese people drink tea daily, making China the world’s largest consumers of the beverage. There are white teas, green teas, black teas and half-fermented teas, known as oolong teas. These are also rare and exclusive varieties that, up until just a few decades ago, remained the pre- serve of the political elite, and are now traded as costly specialities. Jasmine pearls, also known as dragon’s eyes, constitute a particularly elegant kind of green tea: these little pearls are rolled by hand and provide a uniquely delicate jasmine aroma. »Japan« Tea has achieved cult status here. Buddhist monks brought the first tea seeds into the country from China and cultivation began in 805 AD. To this day, only green tea is produced in Japan. Domestic demand is so high that only small quantities are exported, and as a result these teas are expensive. Well-known varieties include sencha, genmaicha (rice popcorn tea) and gyokuro, a shaded tea that’s extremely rich in caffeine. Together with Germany, Japan purchases the best-quality teas for private consumption. »India« DARJEELING is a tea-growing region in Northern India that lies at altitudes of up to 3,000 metres in the foothills of the Himalayas. There are roughly 73 tea plantations, that are sometimes at altitudes as high as 2,000 metres, which is why Darjeeling is often described as “tea from the top of the world”.

Coffee or Tea Flavored Pu-erh Loose Leaf Tea English Tea Store • Cup Characteristics: Delicious toffee notes from aged pu-erh balanced with Ethiopian coffee and Kerala cocoa. Superb after dinner • Infusion: Mysterious deep orange • Ingredients: Black tea, Black Tea (Pu-erh style), Cocoa beans, Green coffee beans, Camomile petals, Ground coffee, Natural flavors • Caffeine/Antioxidant Level: Medium/Medium • Grade(s): Pu-erh 3 year vintage • Manufacture Type(s): Special pu-erh process, Hand crafted • Region: Yunnan Province / Kerala / Medellin / Nile River Delta • Growing Altitudes: 1500-4900 feet above sea level • Shipping Port(s): Shenzhen / Cochin / Cartagena / Alexandria • Ingredients From: China / India / Columbia / Egypt Brewing Instructions Hot Tea Brewing Method: Use freshly drawn water. When water is re-boiled, or stands for a while, it loses oxygen which prevents the full flavor of the tea being released. Warm the pot first. This helps the brewing process by maintaining the brewing temperature for longer so to extract more flavor from the tea. Be sure to use boiling water to make the tea. Water which is "off the boil" does not allow the tea to brew properly. Ideal brewing temperature is 100° C/212° F. Minimum brewing temperature is 90° C/194° F. Brew for 3-5 minutes. Shorter times will not reveal the full flavor and the quality of the tea. Longer brewing will result in a bitter tasting tea as Tannin will start to be extracted from the tea leaves (If you brew in a cup brew for a much shorter time, 1 - 2 minutes). Stir the tea in the pot once or twice while it is brewing.

The researcher surveyed a total of 246 university faculty in U.S, China and Taiwan, using convenience sampling methods. The survey contained questions in four categories: tea drinking behaviors, tea cultural perceptions, attitudes, motivations and expectations of tea tourism, and demographics including country of residence, age, gender, education, annual income, and self-reported cultural backgrounds. Data were analyzed through Statistical Package for the Social Sciences© version 18.0.
