B-04 Life: It’s a Gift and a “Class” Project - 45 minutes, study guide available Life: It’s a Gift and a “Class” Project deals with abortion, casual sex, and relationships. Eli, a biology teacher at Eden High School, will give his students the responsibility to care for mechanical “life” he creates. Some of his students will pass; others will fail. For Emily, a 17-year-old high school junior, Eli‟s class project will change her life, including her relationship with her abusive boyfriend, Jason. In the end, Emily and the viewer will have to answer the question, “But what if you could start all over again?” This program helps young people to think carefully about choices in life and the consequences of their behaviour. 2 B-05 “I Was Wrong” - 30 minutes A documentary that captures the changed hearts of two women forever altered by abortion. Norma McCorvey, “Jane Roe” of Roe v. Wade, never could never have imagined the outcome of her deception: 4,000 abortions a day since 1973. Norma never had an abortion, but her Supreme Court case brought abortion on demand to America. Darkness and disillusionment plagued her life. The power of prayer plus the loving actions of others drove Norma from working in an abortion centre into the arms of Jesus. Joyce Zounis‟ choice of abortion, not once but seven times, nearly cost her life. Tormented by disbelief, she lived a nightmare of anger, guilt, and disconnection. “I Was Wrong” captures the changed hearts of two women restored by the redemptive forgiveness of Jesus Christ and brings a deeper understanding of how abortion strikes at the heart and soul of America. B-06 The State of Palliative Care in Canada: End of Life Care - 18 minutes Talk given by the Honourable Sharon Carstairs P.C. at the Second Annual Cardinal Ambrozic lecture held at the University of St Michael‟s College on March 3, 2006. On the fifth anniversary of the Senate subcommittee report on palliative and end of life care, Senator Sharon Carstairs as Minister with responsibility for palliative care released her report “Still Not There: Quality End-of-Life Care”. The report made ten new recommendations for improving the quality of care throughout Canada. In March 2006, Senator Carstairs was invited to talk at the annual Cardinal Ambrozic Lecture, sponsored by the Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute, about these recommendations and the need for government to renew its commitment to a national strategy ensuring good care until the end of life. B-07 Beyond Regret: Entering into Healing and Wholeness after an Abortion -35 minutes, includes support guide. Few women and men can walk away from the experience of abortion without some emotional impact. Unresolved feelings of guilt, shame, and grief may not surface until months, often years, after an abortion. In Beyond Regret you will find women and men who have lived with the pain of abortion and have found healing and wholeness. Through their testimonies we hope you can enter into healing from your abortion and find peace. B-08 Turning the Tide: Dignity, Compassion, and Euthanasia -28 minutes, includes discussion guide. Catherine Frazee, Wesley Smith, Jean Echlin, Bobby Schindler, Adrian Dieleman, and Senator Sharon Carstairs bring a wealth of personal experience and insight to a society that would be at risk if assisted suicide were legalized. They expose the oversimplification, flaws, and myths surrounding safeguards, pain management, and suffering. Together they offer tangible solutions as to what needs to 3 be done to improve the quality of life for all concerned and make a strong case that vulnerable people are directly threatened by euthanasia and assisted suicide. It‟s time to let our voices be heard because if laws are changed, we‟ll be fighting for our lives. 4 ADOLESCENT DEVELOPMENT D-01 D-01 Naked Without Shame: A Crash Course in the Theology of the Body - 10 CDs Starting with an analysis of the creation accounts in the book of Genesis, Pope John Paul II illuminates the meaning of human love in the divine plan.
