Editor's Corner Cherokee Annual Editor's Corner Christmas Party and Winter 2019 Elections Just the other day I was thinking it's 2019 soon to be 2020. Remember when 2020 sounded so SciFi?! Of course back when I OKC Bike Show and was thinking that, I was still riding an antique motorcycle, albeit Swap Meet didn't look like an antique motorcycle. But over a good amount of time and dedication I restored it to what it might have looked Fandango coming out of the dealership. Last National Road Run our chapter sponsored I was finishing up National Road Run on my bike hoping to have it done in time. I do most of my own work on my bikes and I was down to painting the fenders and Pre-Registration tanks. Waiting on the weather to cooperate with me in Form isn't always a sure thing and it wasn't back then. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get done in time and to my disappointment I missed the ride. Fandango and National Road Run I do remember talking to people who had gone on the ride. The one common theme was how good of a time they had. One Schedules person wanted to know how we as a club could improve on the run. The answer from everyone was 'I don't know how you can'. Food and lodging Well I think we found the trick, pair it with the Texas Fandango. information Not only a swap meet, a flat track race and bike show. How do you improve on the talk of the antique motorcycle world? Leave it up the Cherokee Chapter, that's how! See you down the road, be safe.

Cherokeeamca.com CHEROKEE CHAPTER Winter 2019 Cherokee Annual Christmas Party and Elections This this past December 1st Cherokee members gather on the shores of White Rock Lake in the Big Thicket House. The weather was anything but Holiday like which is fine with antique motorcycle enthusiast. There was a good turn out of members both riding in and arriving in cars to celebrate with friends and make new friends. We were able to have Tex-Mex catered and if any one left hungry it was there own lack of filling their plate. After the meal we moved on to the meeting and elections. A little time was spent on the national road run and Fandango but the decision was made to move on to the elections for fear of bogging down in the details. Greg McFarland, Steve Klein, Jo Ann Kugle were all re-elected to their seats on the board. Jerry Morgan stepped in and accepted the nomination for the seat Shelby Withrow vacated. Shelby did a great job in his tenure as board member. If anyone is up to filling Shelby's shoes it is Jerry. Lyle Henry stepped aside as Vice President and Victor Hugo was elected to the position, and Lyle has taken the position of Secretary. After the elections were held we were able to move on the the award celebration. Rebecca Cunningham received the President's Award. Jo Ann Kugle was awarded Board Member of the year. Ed Hazzard, David Miller and Jerry Morgan were awarded Member's of the Year. Graeme Ford was awarded Ambassador of the year for his tireless promotion of the club. Thanks to all for all the hard work that you've done, well deserved my friends. Shelby Withrow was honored with the Distinguished Service Award. If it were not for Shelby's efforts our club would not be anything like it is today. When Shelby arrived our club was only a small shell of what it is today. Shelby with his knowledge, determination and drive got us involved in Pate and the Road Runs, not to mention the growth of our membership. Thanks Shelby for all you have done with our club. After the awards were over the party was moved over to President Greg McFarland's house. Members were able to relax and enjoy the company of each other amidst Greg's collection where it later wound down for the evening. Thanks Greg and Christie for sharing your house with all of us.
