D & R Leibowitz 5/12) The Special Spirituality of the Jew YERACHMIEL BINYAMIN BEN ZEHAVA TZIVYA (M. Cohen’s grandson 5/12) The Torah tells us that Moshe officiated as the Kohen in the Mishkan for the first seven days of its inauguration. On the eighth day, AVRAHAM BEN SARA (fr. J. Herz/Wenig 10/12) Moshe was told by G-d to install Aaron and his sons to be the Kohanim. ZEEV BEN BELLAH RIVKA (Dr. William Etra 5/13) The Torah states regarding Aaron and his sons, "At the entrance of the Tent of Meeting shall you dwell day and night for a seven-day period, CHAIM YITZCHAK BEN CHANA (fr. Kerry Newman 6/13) and you shall protect Hashem's charge so that you will not die; for so DOV BARISH NACHUM BEN ESTHER (fr. E. Shallom 6/13) have I (Moshe) been commanded. Aaron and his sons carried out HACHAVER YOSEF YISHAI BEN BAISLA (Walter Kahn 5/13) (vaya'as) all the matters that Hashem commanded through Moshe." During the first seven days of inauguration, all that Aaron and his CHAIM MOISHE BEN LEAH ( fr. A. Rudich 9/13) sons were required to do was to remain in the Tent. The Torah CHAIM YEHOSHUA BEN RAYZLA (H. Hanski 1/14) nevertheless, extols them for carrying out all that Hashem had commanded them through Moshe. What was the praiseworthiness of ELIYAHU YOSEF BEN DEVORAH CHANA SARAH (fr. Gold 1/14) Aaron and his sons? During this period, there was no proactive stance HARAV CHAIM YITZCHAK BEN DOBBA LEA (H. Reichel 1/14) that was needed. All that was asked of them was to remain in a passive state. Rashi cites Chazal who state that Aaron and his sons were being URI BEN RENA (fr. F. Posner, 2/14) praised because "they did not deviate to any degree, not to the right or SHALOM CHAIM BEN ESTHER (fr. T. Gordon. 3/14) to the left." How do we understand this? The Yalkut explains "Vaya'as Aharon ubanav - Aaron and his sons carried out..." to mean that Aaron and his sons rejoiced with every word WOMEN that was commanded to them by Moshe. When Moshe communicated KRES BAS CHAVA (Edith Halpern 5/12) to them the word of Hashem, they valued his words as if they were communicated directly from G-d Himself and they felt fortunate. SHAYNA RIVA BAS ELKA YUDIS (renew 5/12, fr. C. Lippman) It is important to note that one feels differently when one is asked RACHEL YEHUDIT BAT MANCHA ZIESEL (fr. D. F. 5/12) to perform a task directly by the king rather than emissary. Aaron and his sons valued Moshe's words as if directly from G-d and thus were RACHEL BAS SARA (fr.
