AN EXPLANATION OF CMAC, YES ATHLETICS & CCCNYC You've noticed that 2 things we require you to build into your club registration fees are the YES Athletics membership and the CMAC fee. And you've likely also seen “CCCNYC” on the CMAC page as well. We just wanted to explain what all of this means, how it benefits you, and to what it gives you access. CMAC The Central Missouri Athletics Circuit will do all possible to keep the cost of this experience as low as we can. This is because we want as many youth to participate as possible. Participation and access are also the purposes for limiting the area of meets to Central Missouri (the green circle of the logo). Long travel could easily be a barrier for many individuals. To sustain the circuit though & keep it to good standards, something must be charged. To make it clear, no member of the CMAC board or any staff is paid in any way. The $5.00 CMAC fee helps pay for several things, such as promotional items for the circuit, advertisements, insurance, equipment & supplies for the CMAC championships meet such as medals, marking paint, timing, etc... At the end of each season we plan to have all athletes that participate in CMAC compete on an All Star team for the CCCNYC regional championships. We hope to have the highest performing athletes in Central Missouri bringing home national championships someday. So, some of the money from the CMAC fees will go towards the uniforms for this team, and helping with the team dinner, a fun activity for the trip. YES ATHLETICS This is our governing body. National governing bodies are organizations that set the standards, and rules by which we operate. Just about every youth sport league has one. Baseball has Little League or Babe Ruth, Football has Pop Warner, Swimming has USA Swimming, Softball has the American Softball Association (ASA), and Cross Country has a few options. You most likely have heard of USA Track & Field (USATF) and also the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). We choose to go with YES Athletics because of some of the affordable benefits that come along with it. Some of these YES Athletics benefits helps protect CMAC, and more importantly, your club, coaches and athletes. A few of the benefits are as follows: Club liability insurance Liability insurance for your club's designated volunteers Practice insurance Acknowledgement as a team in CMAC results & opportunity to win a CMAC team title FREE sanctioning for local meets Access to the CCCNYC regional championship meet Access to the CCCNYC national championship meet Each athlete in your club will need to complete a YES Athletics membership form which CMAC officials will provide for you. You will collect the forms and fees from the athletes on your team; and then turn them in to a CMAC official. The easiest way to do this would be to calculate the total number of members of your club and multiply by $15 (total of the $5 CMAC fees & the $10 YES Athletics fees). Make out a check to Central Missouri Athletics Circuit, or bring the total to CMAC staff. Then CMAC will write the check for your YES fees to YES Athletics. Athletes that are not members of a CMAC club can participate in CMAC meets as unattached athletes. But they are not insured, and they will almost always end up paying more to compete in meets. Groups will also not be identified as a team in the results, only as individuals. CCCNYC The Cross Country Coaches National Youth Championships is available to every CMAC / YES Athletics athlete. This is a national meet that is usually held somewhere in the Central or Midwest part of the country in late November or early December. For all athletes that go through the CMAC season and enjoyed themselves, the opportunity exists to compete in a regional championship that also serves as a National Qualifier meet. If you choose to go to the Missouri Valley CCCNYC national qualifier meet (held in Garnett, KS) then please let the CMAC Cross Country specialist know, and you will be provided with information to compete. You will be part of a regional team, not your home town team. If your team and age group qualifies, you will earn a trip to the CCCNYC national championships. Information about travel and such will be provided. CMAC will have its own regional team in which athletes that can travel to the CCCNYC championships will represent the our circuit. A portion of the CMAC fees that each athlete pays each season is going towards future travel for the national championship trip. It also goes towards the uniforms that will define us as a team at the national championships meet..
