Harborside Jersey City to Open New Food Hall March 25 Food Hall Offers More Dining Options for Harborside Community Jersey City, NJ (March 2019) – Harborside, the Jersey City waterfront district, today announced the addition of fast-casual dining options with the opening of its food hall-style concept District Kitchen at the ground level of 210 Hudson Street. Mack-Cali Realty Corporation has spearheaded the development, bringing 13 new culinary experiences to the Harborside Atrium. Designed by TPG Architecture, District Kitchen draws inspiration from Jersey City’s industrial past with the open airy ceiling, exposed concrete columns, and the classic combination of striped black and white floor tiles – an ode to food mart days. “We always strive to elevate the Harborside experience through special events programming, unique amenities and now the food hall,” said Michael J. DeMarco, Chief Executive Officer of Mack-Cali Realty Corporation. “We’re excited to welcome these restaurants to Jersey City’s vibrant community and thrilled to have curated a diverse group of restauranteurs to add unique offerings that will be a huge draw for the local community.” The 12,750 sq. foot space will have a bar, serving beer, wine, and cocktails, and will welcome new tenants, including: • Modcup, a Jersey City-based café specializing in fresh, naturally processed coffees. It also offers custom designed apparel, accessories, whole bean bags and concentrated cold brew bottles. • Pizza Vita, a contemporary pizzeria and cucina inspired by traditional pizzerias of Naples, Italy. One of the first female Pizziolas in America, Chef Adele DiBiase, is behind the concept and the menu features true Napoletana-style woodfire pizza cooked in 90 seconds. • Left Bank Burger, a family owned craft burger concept, serving all-natural burgers with a variety of specialty burgers like the fried mac & cheese topped Mac Daddy or locally inspired Garden State burger. • Kimchi Grill, a modern cuisine concept that infuses Korean tradition and classic street foods like wings, fries, dumplings, and tacos. All dishes are topped with fresh or sautéed kimchi – a Korean superfood. • Salt + Seed, a vegetarian and vegan restaurant, offering salads, sandwiches, desserts, and plant- based specialties. The District Kitchen location is an expansion beyond its initial presence at Hoboken Farmer’s market. • Little Sushi Shop, a grab-and-go, offering various maki and special rolls, soup and salads. • Canteen To Go, an extension of the Jersey City sit-down restaurant Canteen Desi Dhaba, offers authentic Indian flavors and Mughlai dishes that are healthy and delicious. • Angry Archie’s, a food truck known for its signature jumbo crab meat, crispy potatoes, spicy aioli and citrus crema on a potato bun, will welcome its first brick and mortar at District Kitchen. • Ani Ramen, a boutique ramen house that captures the essence of Tokyo and celebrates bringing family and community together over food that shows in name Ani – the Japanese word for elder brother. The menu includes daily made noodles and fresh ingredients in ramen bowls in addition to donburi bowls, bao buns, and other traditional Japanese izakaya small plates. • The Belgian Plate by Waffle It. & Co., a made to order bakery, creates sweet and savory Belgian waffle and crepe selections and offers soups, salads, and sandwiches on freshly baked baguettes. • Baonanas, an award-winning dessert shop that specializes in banana pudding flavors like cream n’ cookies, matcha, french toast, Nutella-walnut, and vegan coconanas. • Tidal Poke, a Hawaiian inspired eatery, brings fresh and sustainably sourced ingredients and Big island flavors in customizable, modern twist dishes. • Enfes, a Jersey City-based pop up restaurant, serves Mediterranean and Turkish hand roll delicacies and savory street treats. These restaurants join a revered group of food and beverage concepts that include chef Leah Cohen and partner Ben Byruch’s Piggyback Bar and the outdoor waterfront biergarten Lutze. The 230-seat public space will also feature a rentable event space to be programmed with special events like live music, comedy shows, and children story time. District Kitchen will be open on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information about Harborside Jersey City and District Kitchen, please visit harborsidejc.com or follow along on social media at @HarborsideJC.
