  • The Perfect Way by Anna Bonus Kingsford and Edward Maitland the Perfect Way Or the Finding of Christ
The Perfect Way by Anna Bonus Kingsford and Edward Maitland The Perfect Way or The Finding of Christ by Anna Bonus Kingsford and Edward Maitland Published in 1888 Boston, Mass.: ESOTERIC PUBLISHING COMPANY, 478 Shawmut Avenue. (Revised and Enlarged Edition.) Page 1 The Perfect Way by Anna Bonus Kingsford and Edward Maitland AUTHORS’ EXPLANATION These lectures were delivered in London, before a private audience, in the months of May, June, and July, 1881. The changes made in this edition calling for indication, are, – the substitution of another Lecture for No. V., and consequent omission of most of the plates; the rewriting, in the whole or part, of paragraphs 6 - 8 and 28 in No. I.; 34 - 36 in No. II.; 5 - 8, 12, 13, 22, 23, 42, 43, 54, and 55, in No. IX. (the latter paragraphs being replaced by a new one); the lengthening of Appendices II, and VI; the addition of a new Part to Appendix XIII. (formerly No. IX); and the substitution of eight new Appendices for Nos:. VII., and VIII. The alterations involve no change or withdrawal of doctrine, but only extension of scope, amplification of statement, or modification of expression. A certain amount of repetition being inseparable from the form adopted, – that of a series of expository lectures, each requiring to be complete in itself, – and the retention of that form being unavoidable, – no attempt has been made to deal with the instances in which repetition occurs. PREFACE TO THE AMERICAN EDITION In presenting an American edition of THE PERFECT WAY, or, The Finding of Christ, to the reading and inquiring public, we have been actuated by the conviction that a comprehensive textbook of the “new views,” or the restored wisdom and knowledge of the ages regarding religion or the perfect life, was imperatively required, wherein the subject was treated in a manner luminous, instructive, and entertaining, and which, without abridgement, or inferiority of material or workmanship, could yet be sold at a price that would bring the work within the means of the general public.

Kindly silence your cell phone, pager, and other electronic devices. Video, photographic or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited by law. Food and drink are not permitted in the theatre. Thank you for your cooperation. The 25th Annual Puntam County Spelling Bee Director/Choreographer’s Notes It is my honor and pleasure to present the very first production of the UC Davis Summer Musical Theatre Intensive, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. This highly acclaimed and awarded show is a perfect fit for our program’s inauguration, as the original show was created through improvisation. For our production, we attacked the script and score in exercises in a classroom situation first, and then expanded these improvs to become staging and choreography. This gave each actor artistic freedom and ownership of the material. They learned how to create, not mimic, hopefully transcending the cultural norms of this YouTube era. It is no surprise that the 2005 Broadway production won two Tony Awards. The composer William Finn’s genius for interesting and provoking music drives this smart and funny play.

  • Sunset Boulevard
Audition Notice Sunset Boulevard PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to be in the show in any capacity, ensemble, lead role or backstage/crew, please register your interest as soon as possible by emailing [email protected] Geoids Musical Theatre is delighted to announce the audition dates for our upcoming musical Sunset Boulevard on the 16 July at 6:30 pm, 18 July at 10:00 am and 20 July at 6:30 pm. About the Show Sunset Boulevard weaves a magnificent tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition. Silent movie star Norma Desmond longs for a return to the big screen, having been discarded by tinsel town with the advent of "talkies." Her glamour has faded in all but her mind. When she meets struggling Hollywood screen-writer Joe Gillis in dramatic circumstances, their subsequent passionate and volatile relationship leads to a tragic conclusion. The lush score features such haunting classics as "With One Look", "The Greatest Star of All", "As if We Never Said Goodbye", "The Perfect Year", and the emotionally charged title song "Sunset Boulevard". The musical originally premiered in London in 1994 in an iconic production starring Patti LuPone and Kevin Anderson, before opening in LA and Broadway starring Glenn Close. The original production was famed for its extravagant sets as well as its backstage dramas, and it became the hottest ticket of the year, if not the most talked about new musical of the decade. There has always been a great interest in the show, yet it is rarely performed. The last London production at the Comedy Theatre in 2008 used actor-musicians and presented a scaled down production, which proved the strength of the material and the possibility of a smaller production.

Review Snippets Against an inventive set, director Barry Jones’ musical direction … the performances themselves lift and inspire the stage action …... this production and its personnel never miss a beat, in all senses of the word. (Tina White) Barry Jones’ direction of BLOOD Brothers certainly brought with it some high notes …… The set was clever and dynamic, with shifts from scene to scene managed fluidly …… This rendition of BLOOD Brothers was enjoyable to watch and nicely delivered. (You Have My Word) So, we were looking to stage “Annie” in August this year at the Regent on Broadway. Unfortunately, when we applied for the rights we found out they are not available and so we are not going to be able to produce this fabulous show this year. So ..... what are we doing instead?
