CongressWatch Report No. 176 Report No. 176 17 June 2013 The 16th Congress In the Senate The 16th Congress will open on 22 July, the same day that President Benigno Aquino III delivers his fourth State-of-the-Nation Address (SONA). The Senate will likely have a complete roster for the first time since the 12th Congress. It may be recalled that during the 2001 elections, 13 senators were elected, with the last placer serving the unfinished term of Sen. Teofisto Guingona who was then appointed as vice president. The chamber had a full roll of 24 senators for only a year, due to the appointment of Sen. Blas Ople as Foreign Affairs Secretary on 23 July 2002, and due to the passing of Sen. Renato Cayetano on 25 June 2003. The 11th, 13th, 14th, and 15th Congresses did not have full membership, primarily because a senator did not complete the six-year term due to being elected to another post.1 In the 2013 midterm elections last May, all of the six senators seeking re-election made it to the top 12, while two were members of the House of Representatives in the 15th Congress. Exploring the fourth environment: Young people’s use of place and views on their environment Introduction The purpose of this guide is to individually outline each of the study areas which feature in the ‘Exploring the fourth environment: young people’s use of place and views on their local environment’ project. The project was based in three contrasting types of locality across Northamptonshire and the work was carried out between October 1996 and September 1999. The guide is set out in the following sections: Section 1: Project Aims, Objectives and Methods of Research Page 1 - 5 -Includes a project publications list Section 2: Data Collection Summary Tables Page 6 - 9 -This section provides a detailed breakdown of exactly where and how the information was collected, sample sizes and/or data availability. Note that not all study areas were used in all aspects of the project work. Section 3: Database and Transcription File Matrices Page 10 - 14 -This section provides a detailed breakdown of all the relevant files/file types that are associated with the analysis of the data. There are two types of file that are listed. Database files (used to analyse the collective results of the individual questionnaire based surveys) are listed as ***.SAV files. These files are useable with SPSS (6.1 for Windows or above). Text files (used for the transcription of interviews) are listed as ***.DOC files. They can be accessed using MS Word 6.0 for Windows or above. As with the tables in Section 2, the files are listed by location and by role that that respective locations play in each of the individual surveys. -

WHY REGISTER NON POWERED BOATS? page 26 May/June 1986 800 BOIT Pennsylvania The Keystone State's Official Boating Magazine Recently I received a call from a large city agency advising that it was considering charging a fee to launch from its boat ramp. The fee discussed was $3 to $5 per launch. A county park system that operates a small lake charges $5 per year to launch — $7.50 if you're not a county resident. For the current annual fee of $4 to $6 if your boat is 16 feet or over, you can launch at some 190 Fish Commission ramps and countless other ramps owned or operated by state and local agencies. For owners of unpowered boats, you can launch free ($5 launch permit for state park ramps). In addition, you get a bit of boating safety education, the protection of the law, and some pretty good representation in Harrisburg. Sounds like a lot of bang for the buck. All these services for the cost of a small registration fee, of course, is not entirely true. The state marine fuel tax and the HOUSE BILL 2157 federal Wallop/ Breaux money, derived primarily from the federal marine fuel tax, provide considerable income to the Boat Fund. These three sources — boat registration fees, state marine fuel tax, and federal marine fuel tax — provide almost all the Boat Fund income. Note that all the income is derived from motorboats, and because the larger boats use more fuel, the larger the boat the greater the contribution. House bill 2157 has been introduced and is now wending its way through the legislative system. -

Main St Urbana, IL 61801, USA October 22, 2018 Abstract Motion planning and control are key problems in a collection of robotic ap- plications including the design of autonomous agile vehicles and of minimalist manipulators. These problems can be accurately formalized within the lan- guage of affine connections and of geometric control theory. In this paper we overview recent results on kinematic controllability and on oscillatory controls. Furthermore, we discuss theoretical and practical open problems as well as we suggest control theoretical approaches to them. 1 Motivating problems from a variety of robotic arXiv:math/0209213v1 [math.OC] 17 Sep 2002 applications The research in Robotics is continuously exploring the design of novel, more reliable and agile systems that can provide more efficient tools in current applications such as factory automation systems, material handling, and autonomous robotic appli- cations, and can make possible their progressive use in areas such as medical and social assistance applications. Mobile Robotics, primarily motivated by the development of tasks in unreachable environments, is giving way to new generations of autonomous robots in its search for new and “better adapted” systems of locomotion.
