This report details the findings of the appraisal undertaken to consider the Historic Environment as an element of the Environmental Impact Assessment in respect of proposed regeneration of the former oil platform construction yard, dry dock and quays on land at Kishorn Base, Kishorn, Highland. 2. The appraisal establishes a baseline of terrestrial and marine historic environment assets that fall within, and in proximity to, the proposed development. Subsequently, the potential impact on these assets is considered with appropriate mitigation specified to suppress or offset this impact. 3. Within the marine environment there are two known assets within the inshore water locations where new anchorages will be formed areas, these relate to debris from the use of the Kishorn Yard and are not considered significant. However, there remains the need for a protocol for reporting the exposure of unexpected historic material; this is specified within the mitigation package to ensure the appropriate treatment of such material. 4. The terrestrial renewal of the yard will lie almost wholly within the existing yard. All the known extant assets lie outwith the yard, with the exception of the yard itself. Consequently there are no direct impacts on these assets. The potential for currently unknown
