This means that this report is the fourth and final report in connection to this MMT program and thereby the fourth and final report written in relation to the company in which I am employed. Since 1998 I have worked for The Danish School of Media and Journalism, where I am an Associate Professor and where I am responsible for the disciplines “Print Media Production”, “Process Standardi- zation” and “Quality Management”. As mentioned my previous work at this Master’s program have resulted in three other reports: "Analysis of the bachelor education in Media Production and Management - Viewed from a strategic and business process oriented perspective" First semester report 2011 (in Danish) "Construction of a Pyramid – an analysis of current and alternative organizational structures for The Danish School of Media and Journalism" Second semester report 2012 (in Danish) "The Establishment and Implementation of a new Educational Quality Model - with a focus on measuring Educational Quality" Third semester report 2013 (in Danish) This fourth report is a natural continuation of the previous third report which was focused on defining “Quality in education”, examining the factors that has an impact on the students learning process and building a new evaluation and quality measurement model which was named EQE Model (The Educa- tional Quality and Evaluation Model). This fourth and final report is concentrated on the implementation process of this new EQE Model. Special attention is drawn to the characteristics of the change project and to the management of the change process. Because the company The Danish School of Media and Journalism is an independent institution under public administration, these peculiarities of the Danish public sector is described and set in relation to the management theories that are often made for companies in the private sector. One of the main characteristics of the Danish public sector is that Top Management in many cases does not have their freedom to make their own decisions. Important decisions must be approved by the gov- ernment and parliament and the prior decision-making process requires involvement of numerous user groups, committees and other groups of interest to ensure a democracy-seeking and consensus- seeking process. That means that change projects evolves unpredictably as they are formed during the change process. This has also been the case for this change project. This change project (my EQE model) has been through several committees, management groups and other forums before it now has become a part of a catalog of future evaluation forms made by a new Evaluation Committee (of which I am a member) that has just been forwarded to top management for approval. The DEW Line was an integrated chain of early warning radar and communication stations constructed between 1953 and 1957 from northwestern Alaska across northern Canada. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the system was extended west, across the Alaska Peninsula and the Aleutian Islands, and east, across southern Greenland. The mission of the DEW System was to provide early radar warning of possible airborne attacks against the United States and Canada by the Soviet Union. The DEW System remained in use throughout the mid to late 1980s. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was replaced with the North Warning System (NWS). In 1996, the Air Force initiated a comprehensive environmental program, called “Clean Sweep,” to remediate and demolish facilities at DEW and other remote installations in Alaska that were no longer necessary to the defense mission. Because Clean Sweep was considered a federal undertaking under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Air Force implemented plans to identify, evaluate, and, if need be, mitigate the cultural resources of the former DEW System prior to conducting Clean Sweep activities.

    Expedition Reader Climate Expedition Greenland 15 – 20 September 2010 Welcome! With this brochure we would like to welcome you to the Greenland Climate Expedition in September of this year. We are in the middle of program and logistics preparations, and we feel it is important to keep informing you about what to expect before and during this unique endeavor that we will be undertaking together. We have a lot to share at this point, hence this extensive brochure. Warmest year ever This year is an especially interesting year to visit the Greenland icecap. June and July were exceptionally warm months on the Greenland west coast, with temperatures rising to well above 20 degrees. It is generally expected that 2010 will become the warmest year ever recorded in Western Greenland. Being present at the end of the arctic summer we should be able to experience firsthand what the impact of this warm year has been to the icecap. We will visit the local airport meteorologists to hear their observations, and also our local guides will be able to tell us about the changes. Expected weather conditions Despite the warmest year ever, we do not expect temperatures in September to be very balmy. Average daytime maximum temperatures halfway September in the expedition area are between 0 and 5 degrees, with average minimum nighttime temperatures to drop to -5 to 0 degrees. However, as we will be at some altitude and on or near the icecap, these temperatures may need to be corrected down by a few degrees. As we cannot predict the exact conditions, we prepare for much lower temperatures, possibly down to -15˚C during the night.
