This facility enables care for people with intellectual disabilities and/or people who are in need of psychosocial support. LANDGOED HOENDERDAELL Welcome to estate Hoenderdaell! Brown bears, hundreds of colorful birds, ring-tailed lemurs playing on top of the ape hill and …do you see the fallow deer in the woods? You can find them all on the Hoenderdaell estate! In the middle of the wood, you will also find the Stichting Leeuw Rescue Centre, where 13 tigers and 7 lions, 2 North Chinese panthers and a puma have been given a home. FLOWERDAYS IN ANNA PAULOWNA Anna Paulowna at its most beautiful- Visit the flower mosaics during the Bloemendagen (Flower days) Visit Anna Paulowna when the bulb fields are at their best. You will experience the color of the tulips and the fragrance of the hyacinths. In this delightful setting during a five day period, you can visit The Flower days with their many mosaics, completely free of charge. Using the map you can follow the route with either a car or bike along all the mosaics. GROOTMOEDERSTIJD EN MOTORENMUSEUM The Grootmoedertijd en Motorenmuseum is located in Nieuwe Niedorp. This museum is unique in the province Noord-Holland because it is actually two museums under one roof. On the first floor of the museum there is an extensive collection of stationary engines from the previous century. Some of these engines you can admire while working. On the second floor you are back in history. There are several fully furnished shops like a gro- cery, drugstore, hairdresser, photo studio and a lot more. DE GROOT RECREATIE A sea of possibilities for a carefree day! Catching shrimps, peeling en tasting Shrimp fishing and sailing along spoonbills and seals from the harbor of Den Oever with the WR 117. Welcome on board with coffee. Sightseeing through the fisherman port from Den Oever under guidance telling about curiosities and fisherman ships. We will be fishing with a fishnet and the catch will be divided in tubs with water on the deck, so they can easily be watched while we give an explanation about this. The shrimps will be sifted and boiled and we learn our guests to peel and taste them.The unpeeled shrimp catch will be portioned so you can take along. Mudflat hiking De Groot Recreatie is organizing several mudflat hiking tours from Den Oever, which is situated in the World Heritage Waddenzee. With help of an experienced guide you can experience how unique this piece of nature is. Mudflat hiking gives you a free feeling. Mud, water and an endless horizon are the ingredients for a wonderful relaxed activity. We will sail with the boat, look for seals and then we will be hiking the mudflats with the group, on our way to the dike, or you can stay on board when you are not able to go with the group. The garden of the “Zonnehoek” is about 1700 m2, has more than 400 different species of plants, many colorful borders, small rock beds, shady areas and a secret garden with beautiful ro- ses. This garden is in full color between March and October. Bo- tanic flower bulbs in combination with early flowering shrubs. VIKING INFORMATION CENTRE The treasures of Westerklief In the Viking information center the stories behind the startling finds are told using mostly original objects from the Viking age (ca. 800-1100 a.d.), including the 1996 found silver treasures of Westerklief. Our company is Global Cap and HACCP certified. Which means that we are environmentally conscious. The benefits of fresh garlic is that it has a fresher and softer flavor than dried garlic. Through the mild flavor, the garlic gives little or no smell of the breath. Another great advantage is that these bulbs can be used totally, both the white bulb and the green stalk are useable. Jan Poortman will take you to the most beautiful places of the Wadden Sea, which you can’t see from the dyke. REGIONAL MUSEUM ANNA PAULOWNA In the middle of the flower bulb fields of Breezand on April the 30th of 1993 the museum of the association of “old Anna Pau- lowna’ was opened. The museum treats the flood of the Anna Paulowna polder in 1916, the agricultural activity in the East and West polder. Altogether, the work and lifestyle of the early days in the polder with its dyke warden and directors etc. In the museum you can also find information about Queen Anna Paulowna, spouse of King Willem II, after whom the polder was named. The museum features among others a shop, library and coffee room. A barrack with hand tools, small shops i.a. dres- ser annex cigars, dry goods and a grocer, Antiquity room with a bedstead and a gallery with varying exhibitions.
