REPORT ON EMERGING TECHNOLOGY Single-use duodenoscopes and duodenoscopes with disposable end caps Prepared by: ASGE TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE Arvind J. Rahimi, MD,11 Monica Saumoy, MD, MS,12 Guru Trikudanathan, MBBS,13 Julie Yang, MD, FASGE,14 David R. Lichtenstein, MD, FASGE, (Chair, Technology Committee)15 This document was reviewed and approved by the Governing Board of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Background and Aims: Multidrug-resistant infectious outbreaks associated with duodenoscopes have been documented internationally. Single-use duodenoscopes, disposable distal ends, or distal end cap sealants could eliminate or reduce exogenous patient-to-patient infection associated with ERCP. Methods: This document reviews technologies that have been developed to help reduce or eliminate exogenous infections because of duodenoscopes. Results: Four duodenoscopes with disposable end caps, 1 end sheath, and 2 disposable duodenoscopes are re- viewed in this document. The evidence regarding their efficacy in procedural success rates, reduction of duode- noscope bacterial contamination, clinical outcomes associated with these devices, safety, and the financial considerations are discussed. Conclusions: Several technologies discussed in this document are anticipated to eliminate or reduce exogenous infections during endoscopy requiring a duodenoscope. Although disposable duodenoscopes can eliminate exog- enous ERCP-related risk of infection, data regarding effectiveness are needed outside of expert centers. Addition- ally, with more widespread adoption of these new technologies, more data regarding functionality, medical economics, and environmental impact will accrue.

  • Japanese Manufacturing Affiliates in Europe and Turkey
06-ORD 70H-002AA 7 Japanese Manufacturing Affiliates in Europe and Turkey - 2005 Survey - September 2006 Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Preface The survey on “Japanese manufacturing affiliates in Europe and Turkey” has been conducted 22 times since the first survey in 1983*. The latest survey, carried out from January 2006 to February 2006 targeting 16 countries in Western Europe, 8 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, and Turkey, focused on business trends and future prospects in each country, procurement of materials, production, sales, and management problems, effects of EU environmental regulations, etc. The survey revealed that as of the end of 2005 there were a total of 1,008 Japanese manufacturing affiliates operating in the surveyed region --- 818 in Western Europe, 174 in Central and Eastern Europe, and 16 in Turkey. Of this total, 291 affiliates --- 284 in Western Europe, 6 in Central and Eastern Europe, and 1 in Turkey --- also operate R & D or design centers. Also, the number of Japanese affiliates who operate only R & D or design centers in the surveyed region (no manufacturing operations) totaled 129 affiliates --- 125 in Western Europe and 4 in Central and Eastern Europe. In this survey we put emphasis on the effects of EU environmental regulations on Japanese manufacturing affiliates. We would like to express our great appreciation to the affiliates concerned for their kind cooperation, which have enabled us over the years to constantly improve the survey and report on the results. We hope that the affiliates and those who are interested in business development in Europe and/or Turkey will find this report useful.

Chapter 9 FORENSIC ANALYSIS OF THE SONY PLAYSTATION PORTABLE Scott Conrad, Carlos Rodriguez, Chris Marberry and Philip Craiger Abstract The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a popular portable gaming device with features such as wireless Internet access and image, music and movie playback. As with most systems built around a processor and storage, the PSP can be used for purposes other than it was originally intended – legal as well as illegal. This paper discusses the features of the PSP browser and suggests best practices for extracting digital evidence. Keywords: Sony PlayStation Portable, forensic analysis 1. Introduction The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a popular portable video game system that has additional multimedia and Internet-related capa- bilities. Originally released in 2004, the PSP features a 4.3” widescreen LCD with 480×272 pixel resolution. It comes with a dual core 222 MHz R4000 CPU, 32 MB RAM and 4 MB of embedded DRAM, which holds the operating system [6]. The PSP uses a proprietary Universal Me- dia Disk (UMD) as its primary read-only storage media for games and movies. The device also features 802.11b Wi-Fi connectivity for multi- player games and utilizes a Pro Duo memory stick for secondary storage. In September 2007, Sony released a new version of the PSP that is 33% lighter and 19% thinner, appropriately dubbed the PSP Slim & Lite. The Slim & Lite version caches UMD data in memory to decrease game loading time and provides additional features such as a brighter screen, composite TV output, charging via USB and double the onboard RAM (64 MB) [8].

As the forerunner of an unbroken series of 2% square SlR cameras, it incorporated many design features still not found on competitive equipment after more than 16 years. The Deluxe is easily recognized by the following key features: 1. Focusing mount integral part of body. 2. No advance crank on right side. 3. Focusing scale on upper part of advance/focus knob. 4. Speed dial on outside face of advance/focus knob. 5. Self-timer scale on left side of body. 6. Double exposure dial on right side of body. 7. 3 stud male bayonet fitting on bottom of camera body. 8. Focus lock lever on right front of body. The Deluxe has double exposure capability, shutter speeds to 1/1250th second, a 2 - 10 second self-timer which also allowed timed long expo sures of 2 - 10 seconds and a locking lever to lock the camera's focusing mount at any desired point. All small bayonet mount Auto-Nikkor and Zenzanon lenses fit the De luxe, as well as all five "5" series prisms and hoods. The S2A grips, however, will not fit due to the bayonet fitting on the camera base, and a special tripod adapter #81502 was required to use either of these grips. 2 BRONICA "S" This is the second model introduced by Bronica.
