Richard Noah Richard joined the Board in February 2015. Richard was a freelance 10/2/2015 - Chair of the Board post-16 education adviser and consultant after working at senior 09/2/2019 July 2019 ( 2 years) executive level within the Learning & Skills Council for five years. With 05/2/2019 - Search and Governance over 40 years’ experience in the Learning and Skills sector, working in 04/2/2023 Committee senior management roles in further education colleges, for the Further 2nd term Remuneration Committee Education Funding Council and The Learning and Skills Council. 2. Rosie Darkin-Miller Rosie Darkin-Miller LLB( Hons) BFP FCA is a qualified chartered 1/11/15-31/10/19 Vice-Chair of Board accountant. Rosie qualified in practice in London in 2002, and has worked 01/11/2019 – July 2019 (2 years) in external audit (in both the private and public sector), internal audit (in 31/10/2023 Chair of Audit Finance Committee the public sector) and as an accountant (in both the private and public 2nd term Remuneration Committee sector), in addition to running training courses on accounts, audit and governance. She has previously worked for the Audit Commission (as a Principal Auditor, planning and carrying out the audits of District and Town Councils), and for West Dorset District Council (where she was the Finance Manager and Chief Finance Officer). Rosie now runs her own practice carrying out internal audits of Town and Parish Councils, charity accounts preparation and external examination, and the preparation and filing of accounts and tax returns for small businesses. 3. Jane Nicklen Jane joined the Board in May 2014. Jane is experienced in Community 27 March 2018 to Audit Finance Committee Member Planning and Development, recently working for Weymouth and 26 March 2022 Remuneration Committee Chair. Portland District Council and the new Dorset Council. Jane has a BA 2nd term degree in Law. 4. Stephen Prewett Stephen is an ex-head teacher and retired Director of Children’s’ 11/7/2017 – Search and Governance and Services. 10/7/2021 Audit Finance Committee Member 2nd Term 5. Lyn Bourne Lyn joined the Board in 2017. She works as a consultant across further 7/11/17 – education, adult and community learning, apprenticeships and high needs 6/11/2021 provision. Lyn is a well-qualified, experienced teacher and was a senior manager in a large college. Lyn has expertise in curriculum quality and design, and staff development. She also brings to the Board, her experiences of inspection. 6. Steve Webb Steve Webb is the General Manager of GSI Ltd., a UK based 11/07/2017 – Audit Finance Committee Member manufacturing business with a subsidiary in China. Steve had a degree 10/07/2021 in Applied Science and a Diploma in Management. He joined the Board 2nd Term in 2012 and has recently given support to Outreach International, a business placing gap/career break individuals throughout the world. Steve’s hobbies include Music, Theatre, Rugby and Walking as well as renovating old properties. 7. Rod Davis Joining the Board in 2017, Rod brings experience in Apprenticeships and 7/11/2017 to he is Chair of the local Training Providers’ Network 6/11/2021 8. Andy Matthews Andy was appointed in November 2015. Andy is Chair of the Portland 1/11/15-31/10/19 Audit Finance Committee Member Partnership, having worked at one time for the College in a financial 01/11/2019 – capacity, Andy brings much local knowledge and financial expertise to the 31/10/2023 Board. 2nd term 9. Jo George Jo brings Audit and Finance Skills and Experience to the Board. She is 12/12/2017 – Audit Finance Committee Member currently employed by Dorset Police 11/12/2021 10. Louise Matthews (Resigned 1 October 2019) 11. Jacqui Gerrard Jacqui joined the Board in 2018 as an Associate Member after moving to 9/10/2018 – Remuneration Committee live in Weymouth, but she took up full membership in March 2019. Jacqui 08/10/2022 has an HR Background and brings skills and experience as a previous Full member from Chair of a Sixth Form College. 26/3/2019 12. Vacancy 13. Nigel Evans Principal and Chief Executive, . Nigel has nearly 40 years’ experience in From 2014 Search and Governance Principal Further Education, with over 25 of those years as a committed A-level Committee Biology teacher. As his career progressed he adopted a variety of curriculum management roles and worked for Ofsted as an inspector of Science and Maths. In 2008, Nigel joined FE Associates and worked in a number of FE Colleges, in a variety of senior curriculum and quality roles. After serving 3 years as Vice Principal, Nigel was appointed as Acting Principal in 2014, and Principal in 2016. Nigel is deeply committed to leading the College to becoming an ‘Outstanding’ institution. He is a firm believer in that the most valuable asset to a College is its staff. Throughout his career Nigel has remained committed to providing the best possible experience for students and equipping them with the right skills and experience to improve their life chances. 14. Peter Vowles Peter has worked in further education for over forty years - in Fiji, 15 May 2018 Search and Governance Staff Member Birmingham and Luton before coming to Weymouth. His roles at to 16 May 2022 Committee Weymouth College, as Schools Officer and Student Liaison Officer, bring him into contact with staff and students across the college and with local schools and organisations. He organises Primary College and Careers College for over 3,000 children each year. 15. Megan Barnes Megan was elected as Staff Board Member in 2018. She is a lecturer in 15 May 2018 Staff Member Sport and Public Services and Deputy Head of Academic and to 16 May 2022 Professional Studies, working at the College for over 9 years. 16. Student Member To be Appointed vacancy November 2019 Jenny Stiling Jenny has been associated with Weymouth College for nearly twenty July 2019 Search and Governance Associate/Co-opted years; her area of expertise is in project funding and development. She (annual review) Committee has been a member of the College Board for a number of years, moving Member to an Associate role two years ago. She has been involved in many local community organisations including Healthy Living Wessex, the Weymouth and Portland Health Network and the Health Theme Group of the Weymouth and Portland Partnership. Jenny has also completed a Foundation Diploma in Art at Weymouth College; when not studying or chairing committees Jenny’s passion is her garden. Sue Ratcliffe Sue was born and educated in Poole and has worked in education in From 2012 Clerk to the Corporation Dorset ever since. Working in various roles for Dorset Youth Service and then Bournemouth Borough Council before joining Bournemouth and Poole College as Director of College and Customer Services and Clerk to the Corporation. Sue has an HNC in Public Admin, a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management and a national accreditation in governance and clerking. Now focusing on Governance, Sue was an LSIS Associate until its closure in 2013; she has experience as advisor for two Academy Schools and a trainer/mentor for new clerks. Sue joined Weymouth College as Clerk to the Corporation in 2012 and she is a governor of a local Middle School in Poole. .
