Par ailleurs, afin d'amplifier le développement de l'événement, le Groupe Figaro a décidé de confier pour les prochaines an- nées, l’organisation de La Solitaire du Figaro - Eric Bompard Cachemire à la société Pen Duick. Son expertise dans le milieu des courses océaniques est in- déniable et reconnue. Organisateur de nombreuses courses transatlantiques dont deux en classe Figaro Bénéteau 2, je suis intimement convaincu que cette nouvelle équipe portera encore plus haut les couleurs de cet événement de premier ordre du calendrier voile en France. Depuis désormais 42 ans, La Solitaire a permis à de nombreux marins de se forger une expérience majeure dans la grande aventure de la course au large en révélant de magnifiques talents qui voguent désormais sur de multiples supports. Il n’est pas rare de voir ces grands marins venir régulièrement, se jau- ger et se mesurer à la jeune garde. La Solitaire du Figaro - Eric Bompard Cachemire possède cet atout unique de pouvoir ré- gater à armes égales sur des parcours toujours très exigeants, difficiles et sélectifs et qui requièrent de la part de ces skippers un grand sens de la navigation. L’internationalisation se poursuit cette année par une étape en Espagne à Gijon mais également avec la présence parmi les inscrits de plusieurs skippers anglais, portugais et norvégiens.

    International Mistral Class Organisation Limited 2001 IMCO Class Rules 1. GENERAL 1.1 The Mistral One-Design is a sailboard designed by Mistral Sports GmbH.. The objects of these Class Rules are: (i) To keep each board as equal as possible by rigidly maintaining the one-design features of the Mistral One- Design for class racing. (ii) To minimise cost to each competitor. (iii) To encourage the use of racing tactics and sailing skills rather than equipment to increase board speed. 1.2 Except where variations are specifically permitted boards of this class shall be alike in all respects. Any alternations or additional equipment, which are not specifically permitted by these rules, are prohibited. 1.2.1 Repairs and preventative maintenance may be carried out provided such repairs are made in such a way that the essential shape, characteristics or function of the original are not affected. This includes: a) filling the joint between the black Powerbox and the hull with resin to prevent the ingress of water; b) shimming the cassette box assembly in order to bring the gasket assembly closer together; c) Filling the joint between the back, long side of the slot flusher and the board; d) Sealing seams, deck inserts for footstraps & mastrack and any holes drilled either side of the centreboard slot with a suitable adhesive to stop the ingress of water. 1.3 The International Authority of the Class shall be the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), which shall co- operate with the International Mistral Class Organisation (IMCO) in all matters concerning these rules. 1.4 Interpretations of these rules shall be made by the ISAF, which in coming to its decisions shall consult the IMCO.
