To confirm the current plan:

1. NSC will establish an online form as part our new Covid-19 webpages which will allow people to self-refer or be referred for additional help 2. The form will collect basic personal and contact information and the kind of support that they need (inc food shopping, dog walking, social calls ect) 3. This information will then be reviewed by NSC to determine whether the overall level of need requires the person to be referred to one of our services. We will also maintain a central record of who has been assessed. 4. If they do not, their information will be sent through to the contact emails you have provided for you to then link them to a local support group that can provide the help requested 5. Where they (or anyone else you are supporting) needs more intensive support then the usual escalation route via SPA / Care Connect remains 6. We will also assign an NSC officer from one of the Neighbourhood Services teams to you to act as a link to other NSC operational services

We are planning to publish the pages containing the online form tomorrow and review volumes early next week before deciding finally on whether to add dedicated phone contact number.

We are also building up data about services that we are aware of and can share this with you on a regular basis to cross-check against your own information.

As discussed, we are unclear what volumes to expect or how quickly we may need to revise the process and so I will arrange a call for Tuesday next week to review how things are going. In the meantime, do not hesitate to get in touch before then if there are any issues.

To try and ensure the maximum coverage across North Somerset, I will be in touch with other areas tomorrow.

In parallel, planning continues for implementation of the North Somerset “community hub” to manage the local delivery element of the government’s shielding programme, and we will align processes there with what we have agreed today based on the emerging expectations of government.
