GEDI Brings Its Stake in Huffington Post Italia to 100% and Consolidates Its Presence in the National Digital News Market PRESS RELEASE GEDI brings its stake in Huffington Post Italia to 100% and consolidates its presence in the national digital news market Turin, 3 June 2021. GEDI Gruppo Editoriale has reached a preliminary agreement with The Huffington Post LLC to take up the entire share capital of Huffington Post Italia. Founded as a joint venture in 2012 with the Huffington global editorial group, Huffington Post Italia has grown to become one of the most well-known and appreciated national online information brands. It produces and distributes original articles, commentary and analyses on a daily basis, on national and international news, with a special focus on politics, economics and social issues. In addition to the huffingtonpost.it domain, the brand manages a host of social accounts followed by over 2 million followers. Based on the agreements, GEDI will take up 51% of the share capital in the joint venture that has been held by The Huffington Post LLC (BuzzFeed Group) up to now, to bring its stake in the company to 100%. GEDI will guarantee editorial continuity through an exclusive licence for Italy of the The Huffington Post brand and its appointee concessionaire A. Manzoni & C. will manage its advertising revenue. GEDI Chief Executive Officer, Maurizio Scanavino commented: “this operation completes the successful undertaking that began 9 years ago, and which has built up a name of primary importance in the Italian information context. Under the leadership of Mattia Feltri and using the technology platform that GEDI is developing for all its brands, the publication can now develop its own potential to offer an innovative, original and appealing product." Telecommunications In a picture of progressive deterioration of the macroeconomic situation, the trend of contraction of the telecommunications market, on both fixed and mobile network, already observed for some years, was confirmed in 2011. In this context, the elements which best qualify the Italian telecommunications market, show no substantial change in 2011 compared to the last two years. Si è tenuto conto del numero di anziani clienti delle Poste, qui assai numerosi, ed ecco che è stato automatico decidere di partire da qui a luglio, con il programma che a livello nazionale invece avrà inizio soltanto a settembre.
