Full Design Made in Italy
FULL DESIGN MADE IN ITALY ITALIAN STYLE APPRECIATED WORLDWIDE “In every project, creativity must always be measured alongside feasibility” Aldo Cingolani IL MAESTRO For his influence and outstanding contribution to the design and the car industry Nuccio Bertone was inducted in the Automotive Hall of fame in 2006 in Detroit, taking his place alongside other automotive icons, including Henry Ford, Giovanni Agnelli, Louis Renault and the Michelin brothers. The acclaimed automotive historian Fulvio Cinti described him as “one of the greatest coachbuilders of the century, and International Maestro of Italian Style” A GREAT HISTORY Founded in 1912, Bertone is one of the oldest and most prestigious «made in Italy» firms in the sector of automobiles, and has accompanied the automotive industry’s technological and stylistic evolution during the first century of its existence. From its creation to the 1930s, Bertone aroused the enthusiasm of a demanding public of collectors and gentleman drivers with its « Fuori Serie » cars. Under the guidance of Nuccio, the founder’s son, Bertone entered the 1960s with great success, riding the wave of the Italian economical boom and developing cars that would enter history as a result of highly skilled tailoring and leading edge technology. The Lamborghini Miura (1966) became a symbol of success worldwide. Followed by the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint (1953), Stratos Zero (1970), Lamborghini Countach (1971) and more recently by Jaguar, Ferrari, Aston Martin and BWM, all had the unique Bertone signature that made their success. America's Car Museum to Showcase Supercars in New Exhibit
America’s Car Museum to Showcase Supercars in New Exhibit Exotics@ACM seeks to answer an age-old question within the automotive enthusiast community: What makes a car an exotic? Contact: PCG – Eric Pylvanainen (424) 903-3685 [email protected] AAT – Ashley Bice (256) 506-6195 [email protected] TACOMA, Wash. (May 2, 2017) – America’s Car Museum (ACM) will be fueling the debate of a widely contested term in the automotive community: exotic cars. Starting May 6, the Museum’s “Exotics@ACM - Seductive Supercars” exhibit will attempt to settle the long-standing dispute by defining six common attributes among exotic vehicles. Exotics@ACM will feature 18 exotics, supercars, hypercars and everything in between. Keeping the dialogue and display fresh, ACM will rotate the vehicle line-up located in its Titus-Will Gallery. “If you ask car enthusiasts to define what an exotic car is, you’re likely to get answers that are as varied as the vehicles themselves,” said ACM Curator of Exhibitry Scot Keller. “We’re putting this discussion to rest by detailing the core qualities and showcasing a huge assortment of exotics, supercars and hypercars alike.” ACM defines the six core commonalities among all exotics as: prestigious brand roots; limited production; great design proportions and stance; technically advanced and sophisticated powertrains; and stunning performance (acceleration, top speed, braking and lateral acceleration). The initial vehicles featured in Exotics@ACM include: • 1992 Acura NSX • 1969 De -
Driven by Elegance
#BADRUTT’S MOMENTS Driven by elegance St. Moritz, 6 March 2019. For many decades, the iconic frozen lake in St. Moritz has been a popular and unique location for spectacular, jaw-dropping events – and therefore the only possible venue for the «Edition Zero» of The I.C.E. St. Moritz - The International Concours of Elegance - which took place on the 2nd of March. The spring sun honoured its premiere, shining warmly on a beautiful display of top vintage, classic and racing cars. When four high-class partners decide to join forces to create a day full of timeless elegance, sleek beauty and simple joy, you are in for an amazing ride. The I.C.E. St. Moritz was launched by Lisippa SAGL in partnership with Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, St. Moritz and sponsored by Pirelli. The “2019 Edition Zero” of The I.C.E. St. Moritz saw over 2’500 spectators admiring 50 elegant cars by signature brands such as Ferrari, Bentley, Bugatti, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Lancia, Porsche and others. The success of Saturday’s pilot project of The I.C.E St. Moritz strength- ened the decision to establish The International Concours of Elegance from February 2020 as an annual occasion - but on a grander and more elaborate scale. Created as a «preview» for future events, The I.C.E. St. Moritz 2019 invited a small, but highly exclusive group of participants with the show proving to be a truly magical teaser for what car lovers and fans of elegant joy can look forward to in coming years. Audi's E-Tron GT Arrives
34 JERSEY EVENING POST FRIDAY 7 MAY 2021 Motoring New Car Road Test First drive: Audi’s e-tron GT arrives The e-tron GT sets the pace as Audi’s most powerful electric vehicle, but what else does it offer? Jack Evans finds out What is it? EVERY car company needs a poster star. In years gone by, it might have been cars like the Lamborghini Countach or Ferrari Testarossa while, in more recent times, it is icons like the McLaren F1 or the BMW M5. However, the days of the big-engined star car are numbered and nowhere is this more evident than with Audi’s latest range-topper – the e-tron GT. You see, the car we’re looking at today stands as the flagbearer for Audi’s electric revolution. You will find no monster V10 or V8 engine here, with electric motors and batteries in their place. But without an old-school engine, can it still succeed when it comes to drama and excitement? We’ve been behind the wheel to find out. What’s new? Whisper it – but the e-tron GT sits on the same platform as Porsche’s Taycan and, The e-tron GT ‘is a fully-fledged road car rather than a concept that has strayed onto the public road’ as a result, follows a similar route when it comes to propulsion. We’ve got a powerful entry-level GT cars will sit on standard There is a small amount of tyre noise to in mind when taking sharp corners or combination of batteries and motors while aluminium suspension, however. -

50 Years on the Red Carpet So Sensual, Intriguing and Elegant As
50 years on the red carpet So sensual, intriguing and elegant as to steal the scene from one of the most fascinating catwomen ever played by Anne Hathaway; no, we’re not talking about an actor or an actress, but about the silver Aventador LP 700-4 in which Bruce Wayne (played by Christian Bale) drives to Gotham City when he decides to come out of his self-imposed seclusion, after an absence of eight years, and return to play the role of Batman in “The dark knight rises”. The car chosen by Wayne for his return could hardly have been anything other than a Lamborghini, because the Gotham City millionaire is one of the greatest collectors in film history of the Italian cars made by the House of the Bull. In “Batman Begins”, the Batmobile co-starred with a Murciélago, and in 2008’s “Dark Knight”, with a Murciélago LP 640. Could it be a coincidence that the word Murciélago, as well as being the name of a famous, and famously fierce, fighting bull bred by Joaquin del Val de Navarra, also means “bat” in Spanish? Lamborghini is a true star of the red carpet. For the world premiere of “Mission Impossible III” (2006), the leading actors in the film arrived in 10 Lamborghinis, including a yellow and red Gallardo. But then of course an orange version of the supercar built by the Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer appeared as a member of the cast in the film. Perhaps the decision to arrive in Lamborghinis was taken to cheer up the stunning Maggie Q, who in a scene in the film is asked by Tom Cruise to blow up the supercar. -
