Erhältlich ist sie in zwei ausdrucksstarken Farben Sebring Orange Tintcoat Metallic und Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic. Die Corvette verfügt über die fortschrittliche Racing-Technologie, die der Rennsportvariante C7.R dabei hilft, Rennen auf der ganzen Welt zu gewinnen. Außerdem gehören Brembo® Carbon-Keramik-Bremsen, Competition-Sportsitze, ein Performance-Data-Recorder, eine rennstreckenoptimierte Chassis-Kalibrierung sowie bei einigen Versionen ein Z07-Paket, ein Aerodynamik-Kit mit hohem Abtrieb sowie Michelin® Pilot® Sport Cup 2-Reifen zu diesem speziellen Ausstattungsumfang. Komponenten aus Sichtkarbon, von der Motorhaube über das abnehmbare Dach bis hin zum Interieur, runden das unverwechselbare Erscheinungsbild der Corvette ab. „Mit dieser Sonderauflage wollen wir die aktuelle Generation, mit der die Corvette einmal mehr Modellgeschichte geschrieben hat, krönen“, so Felix Weller, Vice President Cadillac und Chevrolet Performance Cars Europe. Wo sich Rennstrecke und Straße kreuzen Die Z06 teilt sich mit dem Rennwagen C7.R so viel Technik und so viele Komponenten wie nie zuvor – etwa den Aufbau des Fahrgestells, die Motortechnik und das aerodynamische Konzept. Mit der Stingray als Grundlage wurden Z06 und die C7.R gemeinsam entwickelt, um die Leistung so weit wie möglich auszureizen. Die Corvette Z06, ein straßentaugliches Rennauto wird zu einem außerordentlichen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis als Coupé und als Cabriolet angeboten. Sportwagen-Leistung Die Performance der Z06 basiert auf ihrem 6,2-Liter-V8-LT4-Motor mit Direkteinspritzung, Active Fuel Management™ (Zylinderabschaltung) und stufenlos variabler Ventilsteuerung. Dieser hocheffiziente Motor ist mit 659 PS (485 KW) bei 6.400 U/min und einem Drehmoment von 881 Nm bei 3.600 U/min zertifiziert. Damit ist sie das stärkste jemals von General Motors gebaute Produktionsmodell und eines der leistungsstärksten in Europa erhältlichen Serienfahrzeuge. Mit einem optional erhältlichen Z07-Performance-Paket beschleunigt die Corvette mit dem 8- Gang-Automatikgetriebe von 0 auf 100 km/h in 3,4 Sekunden, mit dem 7-Gang-Schaltgetriebe in 3,8 Sekunden. Das ermöglicht eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 300 Kilometer pro Stunde und eine maximale Querbeschleunigung von 1,2 g. Zum Abbremsen von 100 auf 0 km/h werden lediglich 30,3 Meter benötigt. Das Z07-Performace-Paket umfasst einstellbare vordere und hintere aerodynamische Komponenten für optimalen Aerodynamik-Abtrieb, Michelin® Pilot® Sport Cup 2-Reifen für noch mehr Grip und Brembo® Karbon-Keramik-Matrix-Bremsscheiben für eine verbesserte Bremsleistung und präziseres Handling durch Verringerung der ungefederten Masse. Mit der Getriebeauswahl sowie Direkteinspritzung, Active Fuel Management™ (Zylinderabschaltung) und Continuous Variable Valve Timing (adaptive variable Ventilsteuerzeiten) ist die Z06 ein leistungsstarker, effizienter Sportwagen. MyLink® mit Smartphone-Projektionstechnik und OnStar® WLAN-Hotspot Chevrolets MyLink®-System ist für die Corvette Z06 mit 8-Zoll-Farb-Touchscreen und zusätzlich zum Apple CarPlay™-Pendant auch mit Android Auto™ kompatibel. Die beiden Systeme ermöglichen eine einfachere, intelligentere Nutzung des Smartphones im Fahrzeug über das MyLink®-Display. Musik hören, Gespräche führen und Nachrichten mittels Freisprechfunktion verschicken — all das über den im Fahrzeug eingebauten Touchscreen und die Lenkradsteuerung, damit sich der Fahrer besser auf die Straße konzentrieren kann. Serienmäßig ist die OnStar®-Technologie verbaut, die bei einem Unfall sofort reagiert, auch wenn der Fahrer keine Hilfe mehr herbeirufen kann. Optional ist eine integrierte OnStar® 4G- LTE-Internetverbindung in der Corvette erhältlich und dient als WLAN Hotspot für bis zu sieben Geräte. Entwickelt für Abtrieb Für den der Leistung der Z06 angepassten Grip sind größere Michelin®-Reifen serienmäßig montiert. Passend zu den breiteren Reifen wurden die Kotflügel an der Front der Z06 um 56 mm und am Heck um 80 mm verbreitert. Dies verleiht der Hochleistungsversion zusammen mit der spezifischen Heckschürze ein breiteres, niedrigeres Erscheinungsbild. Um den Grip der größeren Reifen und Bremsen in Kurven und beim Abbremsen bestmöglich zu nutzen, ist das Äußere der Corvette Z06 maßgeschneidert für maximalen aerodynamischen Abtrieb, der bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten für größeren Anpressdruck sorgt. Das Außendesign garantiert zugleich die verstärkte Kühlung, die für die neue Corvette Z06 erforderlich ist. Zum Beispiel wurde das Gittermuster der Frontblende sorgfältig für einen größtmöglichen Luftstrom zum Wärmetauscher des Ladeluftkühlers für den Kompressor optimiert, sodass der Grill mehr Luft in den Motorraum leitet. Rennerprobtes Interieur Die Z06 profitiert von den für das Fahren mit höchster Performance ausgelegten Details des Interieurs, wie einem stahlverstärkten Haltegriff für den Beifahrer an der Mittelkonsole und Soft- Touch-Materialien am Rand der Konsole, wo sich der Fahrer bei schnellen Kurven naturgemäß abstützt. Alle Modelle verfügen über ein komplett verkleidetes Interieur, bei dem jede Oberfläche mit hochwertigen, weichen Materialien überzogen ist. Es gibt unter einer Belüftungsöffnung auf dem Armaturenbrett sogar einen kleinen LED-Bildschirm für die Klimatisierung des Beifahrerraums, in ausreichendem Abstand zu den Performance-Funktionen der Instrumententafel. Auf der Rennstrecke bewährte Konstruktion und Technologie Die Corvette Z06 nutzt die mit der Corvette Stingray eingeführten Technologien, einschließlich der strategischen Verwendung leichter Materialien und moderner Assistenztechnologien mit einzigartigen Features und auf die Performance zugeschnittenen Einstellungen. So ist das Fahrwerk der Corvette Stingray mit Doppelquerlenkerachse vorne und hinten, an einen höheren Leistungswert angepasst. Die dritte Generation der Dämpfer mit Magnetic Selective Ride Control ist bei der Z06 serienmäßig, sie können über den ebenfalls serienmäßigen Driver Mode Selector auf Reisekomfort oder maximale Leistung für die Rennstrecke eingestellt werden. Der Driver Mode Selector passt dutzende Features der Z06 an die Wünsche des Fahrers an, einschließlich Launch Control, aktivem Handling (elektronische Stabilitätskontrolle StabiliTrak), Traktionskontrolle, Performance Traction Management und elektronischem Sperrdifferential. Das bei der Z06 serienmäßige, intelligente elektronische Sperrdifferenzial (eLSD) stellt stets die optimale Drehmomentverteilung zwischen den Hinterrädern sicher. Das System verfügt über eine hydraulisch betätigte Kupplung, die stufenlos einkuppeln und in Zehntelsekunden von ausgerückt in den vollen Eingriff wechseln kann. Das Drehmoment wird mit Hilfe eines einzigartigen Algorithmus angepasst, der für verbessertes Lenkgefühl, Handling und Traktionsfaktoren wie Fahrgeschwindigkeit, Lenkbefehle und Drosselklappenstellung sorgt. Das eLSD ist vollständig in der Electronic Stability Control und dem Performance Traction Management integriert. Die Kalibrierung variiert zwischen den drei Modi Tour, Sport und Track, basierend auf der Einstellung des Driver Mode Selectors. Myths and legends surround him and his life. Numerous anecdotes have been told about his career. Today, it has become very difficult to differentiate between fact and fiction. Chevrolet's childhood and youth are well documented. In 1878, he was born on Christmas day in the town of La Chaux-de- Fonds in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. He spent his early childhood nearby in the sleepy little village of Bonfol. Even today, Bonfol remains a small town where the only reminder of its famous son is a memorial plaque on Place Louis Chevrolet. When Louis was nine years old, his family moved to Beaune in Baby Louis Chevrolet France. There, Louis' father owned a watch store, but the venture was not successful. As a result, Louis started working at the age of eleven to support his family. He found employment in the Robin bicycle workshop, where he learned the fundamentals of mechanics. He repaired coaches and bicycles, until one day he was sent to the "Hôtel de la Poste" to repair a steam-driven tricycle belonging to an American. This must have been the moment when Chevrolet fell in love twice. He fell in love with automobiles, and also with the idea of emigrating to America. The American, whose tricycle Chevrolet had skillfully repaired was none other than the multimillionaire Vanderbilt.
