Están de vuelta a nuestro país y lo hacen para presentar su nuevo trabajo, "Dirty Rice", donde han demostrado que siguen siendo tan apasionados y enérgicos como siempre. Ya han pasado siete años desde que lanzasen su primer trabajo, las tendencias y los tiempos han cambiado, pero el compromiso y actitud de Mad Caddies sigue ahí. Sin embargo, son una banda difícil de definir, y no se puede hacer a la ligera. No estamos seguros de lo que es más impresionante, el hecho de que han vendido más de 400.000 discos o que se las hayan arreglado para combinar una amplia gama de influencias; dixieland, el reggae, el punk, el ska... en una colección de canciones que son increíblemente diversas. Dirty Rice, es la culminación de la carrera del grupo, pero al igual que muchas obras de arte, crearlo no fue un proceso fácil. De hecho, la banda originalmente comenzó a trabajar en el álbum en 2009, pero no estaban contentos con los resultados y decidieron volver a la mesa de dibujo, donde además, Fat Mike, frontman de NOFX y fundador de Fat Wreck Chords, puso su granito de arena como lleva haciendo en todos los trabajos de los californianos. Mad Caddies nunca han dejado de empujar hacia adelante, no importa qué obstáculos encuentren en su camino. La banda quería seguir evolucionando musicalmente y crear nuevo material para el disfrute de sus fans. Bereits im vergangenen Sommer zeigten die verrückten Golfschlägertaschenträger auf ihrer ausgedehnten Festival-Tour, die sie unter anderem zum Highfield geführt hat und zum Hamburg Crash Fest, das ihre Live-Qualitäten immer noch ungebrochen sind. Jetzt zeigt sich, was sich schon auf dem Vorgänger „Keep It Going“ angedeutet hat: Der Weg weg vom ganz harten Punk und hin zum entspannteren Ska-Reggae mit der großen, jazzigen Mischung ist der richtige. Nur Uptempo alleine reicht eben nicht, um neue Sounds zu entdecken. Um cool zu sein, sommerlich, bedarf es mehr als nur Druck, Kraft und Geschwindigkeit. Es braucht eben auch kalifornische Relaxtheit, Surfer-Attitüde und musikalische Fantasie. Das heißt aber noch lange nicht, dass nun auf ihren Konzerten gekuschelt werden darf. Live bieten die Mad Caddies nach wie vor lauten Ska-Punk mit Gute-Laune-Garantie. Konzerte bleiben die große Stärke der Jungs aus dem Westen. Das darf man gerne erwarten, wenn die Mad Caddies am 30. Santa Barbara, CA, April 10, 2013 – The Community Environmental Council (CEC) announces new highlights – as well as the schedules for the Main Stage and two mini-stages -- at CEC’s 2013 Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival at Alameda Park on Saturday, April 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. CEC hosts the annual event – which is FREE for attendees – in partnership with LoaTree, New Noise Media Group, Oniracom, and Plus One Events. The festival includes over 200 exhibitors in 8 zones across the park: Bike Valet, Public Square, Sports & Recreation, Eco Marketplace, Green Car Show, Live Green, Kids Corner, and Social Media Lounge.
