Farriers Poverty Bay Farriers Wairarapa Bush Vs Poverty Bay Irarapa Bush Farriers Wairarapa Bush vs Poverty Bay Saturday 14th September Trust House Memorial Park Message from the Wairarapa Bush President, Bryan Weatherstone On behalf of the Wairarapa Bush Rugby Football Union, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the players, management and supporters from the Poverty Bay Union to this fourth round match of the 2019 Heartland competition. This week’s game will be an interesting encounter, as only three places separate the two teams after three rounds of the competition. The away game to Poverty Bay last was a close encounter with Wairarapa Bush losing in the last minute. The local boys put on a great display of running rugby last week against King Country to the delight of a large crowd in attendance. Wairarapa Bush looks forward to this week’s game with confidence as they continue to roll out a fully home-grown squad. The home games are a must win on the turf and in front of a home crowd support. Last week, Ties where presented to Jock Cameron, Brent Wilson, and Terongo Tekii for their first game in the Heartland team. Our entire representative teams continue to perform well, last week the Development team had a good win over Horowhenua Kapiti. The Under 11s and Under 14s had wins, while the Under 16 and 18s had narrow losses. On behalf of our Union may I wish everyone an enjoyable day of rugby. Message from the Wairarapa Bush Chairman, Jason Carruthers On behalf of Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union, I would like to welcome you to Trust House Memorial Park for this fourth round match of the Mitre 10 Heartland championship. A warm welcome to the Poverty Bay players, coaches, management and officials who have travelled down to support their union. Only 2 points separate both teams on the current standings table. No doubt todays encounter will be close match! Wairarapa Bush will be hoping to take out another win with the home crowds support behind them. I’m sure Poverty Bay will be looking to get a win after a narrow loss to North Otago last weekend. Congratulations to Samuel Morison, Adam Gordon, Stan Wright, Raniera Petersen and Logan Hebenton Prendeville who have participated in the National Under 19 competition over the past week. It is great to see you representing our Heartland region in the Under 19 Heartland team along with Davide Castorina as physio. What a great opportunity it is for you do continue to develop your rugby skills. I wish to acknowledge the ongoing support we receive from our major sponsor Trust House. To all other sponsors and volunteers who make today possible we thank you. I also wish to recognise Mitre 10 for their involvement in what is a terrific competition. Also, to our local team of dedicated die-hard supporters. Last weekend’s game and after match at the Gravel Pit had to be one of the best! The Pit was rocking with a very vibrant crowd. Good to see our sponsors coming to the after match to give out the player of the day prizes. Last week’s sponsor Mike Eastwood was pleased to with our choice of player of the day loose forward Johan van Vliet. Mike was also a loose forward for Wairarapa Bush. This week’s sponsor is Blane Smith from Mobil Garages. Next week a bus load of supporters will be travelling to Paeroa for the Thames Valley game. Followed by a trip to Westport to watch Buller play against Wairarapa Bush on the 28th September. We hope our bodies can handle the two 3 dayers in a row! It’s great to have Rory back on the paddock. This week we want more noise and plenty of positive support.
