İhraç edilen en önemli ürünler silah, deri, ipek, yün, tereyağı gibi gıda ve mamul maddelerdi. iii ABSTRACT Prizren known as “Dubrovnik the continental region of Balkans” have possesed very important position from ancient times antil today. Rotula family one of the city's notables who got powerfool in the XVIIIth century managed the city for about hundred years periodically and directed the events. In the beginning of the XIXth century after the rebellions caused by Administrative (Tanzimat) Reforms Prizren will be the centre of Albanian problems. The centre of Prizren Province which was established to carry out the reforms was Prizren. By Berlin Congress after Provinces inhabited by Albanians were given to Montenegrins Prizren is going to be the centre of Prizren Union founded by Albanians in order to protect these regions. As a result of this Great Powers such as Russia, England, Austria, İtaly and France are going to open consulates in order to follow events closely. It was one of the cities in the Ottoman Empire where import was much more developed than export. Trade was very developed. Foreign trade was carried first over Shkodër then over Selanik. Prizren was known as a weapon factory of Balkans. Bu çalışmalarım sırasında danışman hocam Sayın Prof. Dr. İdris Bostan'a, Yrd. Doç. Dr. Ebubekir Sofuoğlu'na, Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi uzmanı Ayten Ardel'e, Dr. Maliç Osi’ye Mr. Parim Kosova'ya ve kaynak toplama sırasında ve çalışmamın yazımı safhasında en büyük desteğim olan aileme yardımlarından dolayı teşekkürlerimi sunarım. vi İÇİNDEKİLER ÖZ/ABSTRACT ...................................................................................................... iii ÖNSÖZ..................................................................................................................... v İÇİNDEKİLER ....................................................................................................... vii TABLOLAR ............................................................................................................ ix KISALTMALAR .................................................................................................... x GİRİŞ ...................................................................................................................... 1 1. • Contribution to the Herpetofauna of Serbia - Distribution of Reptiles in Kosovo and Metohija Province
UNIVERSITY THOUGHT doi:10.5937/univtho8-16981 Publication in Natural Sciences, Vol. 8, No. 2, 2018, pp. 1-6. Original Scientific Paper CONTRIBUTION TO THE HERPETOFAUNA OF SERBIA - DISTRIBUTION OF REPTILES IN KOSOVO AND METOHIJA PROVINCE LJILJANA TOMOVIĆ1*, MAGDALENA TIMOTIJEVIĆ2, RASTKO AJTIĆ3, IMRE KRIZMANIĆ1, NENAD LABUS2 1Institute of Zoology, Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia 2Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Priština, Kosovska Mitrovica, Serbia 3Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia, Belgrade, Serbia ABSTRACT Kosovo and Metohija have already been recognized as regions with the highest diversity of reptiles in Serbia, where 92% (22 of 24) of existing reptile species can be found (Tomović et al., 2015a). First comprehensive contribution to herpetofauna of Kosovo and Metohija was provided by late Professor Gojko Pasuljević. In this study we present a complete dataset of distribution records for 13 most common reptile species in Kosovo and Metohija, including published and new distribution data compiled, and provide standardized 10 x 10 km UTM maps for these data. Results of this study include 1013 distribution records (278 new and 735 published data) for the following reptiles: Testudo hermanni, Ablepharus kitaibelii, Anguis fragilis, Lacerta agilis, Lacerta viridis, Podarcis muralis, Podarcis tauricus, Coronella austriaca, Dolichophis caspius, Natrix natrix, Natrix tessellata, Zamenis longissimus and Vipera ammodytes. The most widely distributed species, which occupy more than 50 UTM 10 x 10 km squares are: Podarcis muralis and Vipera ammodytes. Species with limited distribution which occupy less than 20 UTM 10 x 10 km are: Dolichophis caspius and Lacerta agilis. The largest numbers of new or confirmed literature data are recorded for: Anguis fragilis, Testudo hermanni and Vipera ammodytes.

Abstract Detailed distribution pattern of colubrid snakes in Serbia is still inadequately described, despite the long historical study. In this paper, we provide accurate distribution of seven species, with previously published and newly accumulated faunistic records compiled. Comparative analysis of faunas among all Balkan countries showed that Serbian colubrid fauna is among the most distinct (together with faunas of Slovenia and Romania), due to small number of species. Zoogeographic analysis showed high chorotype diversity of Serbian colubrids: seven species belong to six chorotypes. South-eastern Serbia (Pčinja River valley) is characterized by the presence of all colubrid species inhabiting our country, and deserves the highest conservation status at the national level.

In order to preserve the natural wealth of the region, it has been designated as a National Park with the Law passed on March 3rd 1952, on account of "the historical and scientific significance of the forests and wooded areas around Mavrovsko plain, the specific landscape and the natural beauty of the region, the diverse flora and fauna and ethnological characteristics". In this area nature has created numerous beauties of different character. The relief, the climatic conditions, the hydrological and vegetative features, enhanced by human creativity, all contribute to making this region a particularly special place where the gifts of the nature and the resourcefulness of humans can be admired. The National Park Mavrovo encompasses numerous rivers, which present a real jewel in the crown of beauty for the mountain landscape, with their wild rapids, water-falls and incredible transparency: always full with clear and cold water, the springs never get muddy. One of the most impressive parts of the park are the striking gorges of the river Radika. The most dramatic is the Baric gorge. The horizon in front of the observer completely closes leaving open only the blue sky and the steep ascending rocks, in some places 1,500 m high.

In addition, the series will include much of the insti- tute’s other reporting, for example from seminars and conferences, results of internal research and review work and literature studies, etc. NINA report may also be issued in a second language where appropriate.
